Madison Utendahl, Vice President, Social Strategy, Known Studios: As Vice President of Social Strategy, Madison develops multi-platform programs for Netflix, CNN and Martha Stewart among others. Madison is a Forbes 30 Under 30, recipient, a two-time Webby Award-winning Social Media Director, and the Founder of Utendahl Creative: an all-female social media marketing agency and design studio. Prior to Known and Utendahl Creative, Madison was on the founding teams of 3 powerful cultural phenomenons: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, 29Rooms and Museum of Ice Cream. Her expertise lies in immersive storytelling, helping brands & public figures, translate their mission and purpose digitally via social media. Madison lives in NYC with her Partner, Lex and their dog and cat: Lou & Izzy.

 

Ken Blom is Senior Vice President of Ad Strategy and Partnerships at BuzzFeed, where he leads the ad sales division across three main verticals to drive revenue for the leading global digital media company. He also runs operations to support BuzzFeed’s unified business organization, aligning the company’s commerce and advertising divisions to maximize value for partners. Since joining BuzzFeed in 2012, Ken has held multiple leadership positions at the company. Previously, he leveraged his extensive background in paid digital media at IPG/Mediabrands, where he worked across multiple high-profile clients within the SEM, programmatic buying and paid social media disciplines.

 

Jill Johnson currently serves as the General Manager, Entertainment, Tiny Horse, Team Whistle, a next generation publisher, agency and studio which specializes in telling 360 degree stories around the most inspiring stories in sports and entertainment. She is part of Whistle Studios, an Emmy winning studio, and globally distributed production company built from a foundation of companies that includes Whistle, New Form, Tiny Horse, and Vertical Networks, but offers support to various areas of Team Whistle. Jill has built and managed award winning social and digital teams for properties that include: Love Island, The Four, American Ninja Warrior, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, The X Factor, Showtime at the Apollo, Transformers: The Last Knight, Bentonville Film Festival, Retro 4 Elementos, Walmart, The X Factor UK and more. Jill has spent over 20 years building audiences across IPs for publishers, brands, tv shows and networks, production companies, film producers and distributors. Before joining Tiny Horse, Jill served as the Head of Digital and Interactive for SYCO Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment run by Simon Cowell. There she oversaw digital brand integrations with brands such as Verizon, Pepsi, Sony, Best Buy, Snapple and social rollout across formats The X Factor and America’s Got Talent. Prior to SYCO, Jill started her career in A&R and Marketing at MCA Records (Universal) and ASCAP where she was deeply integrated within the record label divisions to combine strategic marketing efforts, in addition to placing and creating branded opportunities and digital strategies with artists across Sony Music artists' properties. Jill served as a VP Business Development for AWE (Aaron Walton Entertainment), a branded entertainment agency within the Omnicom Group, and a senior consultant/partner for Sound Input LLC, providing strategic counsel, marketing alliance, digital strategy and services to clients at the intersection of entertainment and new media/technology.

 

Stephanie Fried has spent 20 years building and leading the most innovative marketing and research teams in media. She is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Fandom, a global entertainment brand powered by fan passion. She has been instrumental in accelerating audience growth to over 300MM visitors per month and driving engagement through audience development, UA, consumer insights, design, experiences, and communications. Prior to joining Fandom, she was the EVP, Marketing, Research and Analytics at Condé Nast and led teams across iconic brands such as The New Yorker, Vanity Fair and Vogue. Stephanie’s team grew digital audiences by +50% and engagement by +82% YoY during her tenure. Before Condé Nast, Stephanie led Digital Insights and Marketing at Discovery Communications, where she built a team to support sales, distribution, editorial, and product across all digital marketing and research functions, including researching, modeling and launching Discovery’s TV Everywhere platform. At VEVO, Stephanie served as Vice President, Research Insights and Analytics, where she grew the team 4X and built an analytics and data infrastructure to service content, sales and partnerships. Before VEVO, she was the Director of Digital Insights at NBC Universal, where she oversaw digital consumer insights, developing the first comprehensive insights study on full episode streaming behavior when the major networks launched streaming platforms in 2006. Stephanie has a BA with honors in History from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Marketing Management from Columbia Business School. She loves transforming businesses and believes that with a deep understanding of consumer needs and market trends, companies can uncover, test and prove out new and exciting paths to growth.
