Opening Keynote One-on-One

The AI Revolution and the 21st Century Athlete

From that first day, in the 1980s, when Bill James presented his vision of “Moneyball” to the world, the idea of “Sports Analytics” was born. They called it Sabermetrics in those days and that opened the door to Fantasy Baseball and Football. Then around that time, the LA Dodgers team doctor fixed up Tommy John’s elbow and they called it Tommy John Surgery. Technology was quickly invading the world of Sports. Sports teams developed “Video Analytics Departments” to study every nuance of “Sport.” And now, Artificial Intelligence is being applied to and intensifying every aspect of the game, from Sports Performance to Sports Medicine to Sports Media and finally to the Smartphone, Xbox, TV or ChatAI that we engage daily. We are all participants in the age of “The 21st Century Athlete.”

Session I:

The AI Sports Terminator - The Personalized Robot: Designed for Athletes, Coaches, Broadcasters and Fans

One day soon, we will all be able to “Call Up to the Booth,” to discuss our best option, the best play to call, pitch-out or base-steal, the decision on our sports fantasy draft, best Social Media comment, meme of Tom Brady at the Super Bowl and from the Professional Sports Coach to eight-year old little leaguer, we’re all going to have a Personalized Sports Robot to talk to. AI is coming. It may only now be giving us visualized analytics, chalkboards on TV Football or Statcast data on Home Runs, but soon, it will be your personal gateway to sports performance, shot prediction, personal health regimene and live video of your favorite team.  Soon it's say goodbye to SportsCenter and Sports iWatch and say hello to your own "AI Sports Terminator."

Session II:

AI and Fan Engagement: Games - Spatial/VR – In-Stadium - Mobile AR - Social

Now for the fun stuff. While the sporting event, the superstars and the rivalries may set the table, it’s only the beginning of the athletic feast. It is now time for the tech and the superfan’s imagination to kick in.  It’s a whirlwind of sound and fury, from giant video billboards and in–stadium madness, the social media battles of Memes and Real-time madness, to in-home VR and Spatial space tripping, and finally to the betting and loving your favorite homies. It used to be “All About the Game,” which is kinda still true, but add to that, “It’s all about experiencing my favorite game inside a Triple Threat of the Game, the Sport and the Technology – not to mention the Nachos and Fries!

Session III:

AI and Sports Performance Medicine: From Training Regimen & Wellness Maintenance to Surgery

With massive real-time data now available, the ability to better understand the athlete, his/her wellness and performance characteristics is coming into better focus. Add to that reservoir of knowledge, the cutting-edge application of AI, optimization of training regimen and assistance in surgical intervention, we have entered the next generation of sports & healthcare. And we are only in the early stages of understanding injury prevention, diagnosis, and technology assisted surgery. AI technology is quickly becoming an invaluable teammate in discovering the balance between peak athletic performance consistent with safeguarding athlete health.

Session I:

AI for Performance Athletes: Real-Time Video Analytics - Player vs. Opponent – Training & Fitness

We are fortunate to welcome today, the Superstar Centerfielder for the Boston Red Sox and the the Superstar Shortstop for the LA Dodgers! They are both gifted and blessed with the greatest talent and achievement in Sport, but they are also both well known to use the best in technology, in the dugout as well as in their training. What’s goes on between innings when the TV cameras train on them, concentrating on Video replay? Are they watching themselves in their last at-bat against this same pitcher? Or are they checking out how his curveball is breaking out of the strikezone. Our two guest superstars are known to be the best in analytic analysis, opponent breakdown as well as being famous gym rats trying to make themselves smarter and stronger each day. We are so lucky to have them here today.

Session II:

The AI Sports-Enabled Broadcast: Cameras, Sensors, Rotation, Replay, Prediction

The Booth, the sidelines and the Xs and Os will never be the same. A tennis match is no longer just tennis. The realtime game breakdown, the AI of tennis, the shot selection, the biomechanics of the backhand, ball striking and comparisons from game to game, the tennis player’s game can be completely dissected. Baseball pitcher spin rates, the swing trajectory and home run lift and arc are recorded and analyzed. We’re seeing baseball through cameras and sensors, through data and prediction. Is it better to view the game on multiple screens? You bet it is. Broadcast sports is not only a game to be enjoyed, it can also become an immersive world of experience, brain food and revelation.

Session III:

Sports Betting: Predictive Analytics and Match Outcomes - A Media & Athlete Performance Experience!

One thing is for certain, there is no sure thing. Whether Marlon Brando as Sky Masterson is being fleeced in Guys and Dolls on the number of cheesecakes Mindy’s sold last night, the Duke Brothers scamming Winthorpe & Eddie Murphy on Orange Futures in “Trading Places;” or Dave Portnoy placing a reported $50K on Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final; even with the best data, the best cons can go bust. So with fair warning, we will address the huge impact Generative AI will have on the Sports Betting industry, with success not guaranteed. AI is based on data, the ability to understand, analyze, slice and dice massive amounts of information about a game, a sport, the current and past performance of teams, athletes and that includes the impact of the weather. Predictive analytics and sports is like having the greatest sports genius by your side, assisting you on every wager. AI and Sports Wagering may be one of the most intriguing applications of AI. And it applies to Wall Street Stock Market as well.

3:00 PM -3:45 PM Eastern Time Zone

Inside the Coach’s Headphones: The AI Realtime Play-Caller - Today's Assistant Coach, Tomorrow's Terminator Robot

With AI, the football coach and play calling will never be the same. For the past 75 years, coaches have been pacing the sidelines, wearing their Bose, listening to the offensive or defensive coordinators from “Up in the Booth.” However, that may soon be a relic, a thing of the past. With years of massive data training, Large Language Models have been digesting every nuance of every football game played, every offensive and defensive plan, breakdown, analysis, plus hundreds of thousands of hours of real-time game video, and the Sports Robot, let’s call it the AI Terminator is now able to predict correctly, with an 80% rate of success. Is that possible? How will the realtime AI Sports Terminator impact college and pro sports? It’s a good question.

Session II:
Critical Injury: Sports Science at its Finest: Diagnosis, Imaging Analysis, Treatment, Rehab & Recovery

This year alone, the NY Jets lost their franchise Quarterback Aaron Rodgers to an Achilles tear on the fourth play of the season - out for the year. Nick Chubb, Pro Bowler of the Cleveland Browns went down with a severe knee injury - Out for the year. And in baseball, Lance McCullers, fantastic left-hander from Houston was lost for the year with an elbow tear and who can forget that the great Aaron Judge was lost for 7 weeks after running into an outfield wall, with a bizarre injury to his big toe. While the superstar sports surgeons are able to patch up our heroes with miraculous surgery and amazing rehab programs, critical injury and sport remains one of the greatest obstacles to the game. In this session we will hear from a group of the best in sport, the doctors, trainers and athletes.

Session III:

Deep Learning Sports 2030: The AI Computer Scientist Perspective

4:00 PM -4:45 PM Eastern Time Zone

Session I:

The 2% Team Competitive Edge: The Dynamics of Athlete Evaluation Techniques & Performance
It is thought that with two teams, evenly matched with great and experienced athletes and coaches, a slim margin of future victory will be the result of AI application in Performance and training technology. This is commonly referred to as the statistical 2% competitive advantage. Through a rigorous breakdown in each performance category; for example, applying machine-learning tools that analyze athletes’ movements to improve their form and even predict injuries. By processing vast volumes of data, including player statistics, game footage, and biometric data, AI can provide in-depth insight into an athlete's performance that might just provide the competitive edge. AI-driven video analysis can also dissect player movements and tactics, aiding in opponent scouting and in-game strategy development. Finally, athletic wearables and sensors can track – in realtime - athlete health and recovery, preventing overtraining and promote longevity. Inside of this massive commitment to “Sports Science” may reside the “2% Competitive Edge,”

Session II:

Personalized AI & Sports Merch – Online Innovation - Technology Empowering Fans

What will NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL gear look like in an AI Merchandized Universe? Of course, all the sports leagues will have custom jerseys for each team and for each player. And as printing and website technology improves, so will the quality and inventiveness of personalization. However, as the power of AI is applied, designs could look more like Nike Swoosh visionary art or like the U2 Visions created for the Sphere in Las Vegas. Just this year a huge partnership was announced between Nike Virtual Studios and EA Sports to unlock new and unique branding creativity. And that is sure to unlock new kinds of opportunity. What about the "The Aaron Judge x Rafik Anadol Jersey 99.”  That might just be around the corner.
