Ousman Sahko Sow is the co-founder and president of Blacktag. A son of Sierra Leone and having bore witness to unspeakable tragedy, Ousman’s passion is helping carry untold and underserved stories and bringing them to life in visually stunning and unique ways. A jack of creative trades, Sow has worked as a photographer, film director, creative strategist, brand marketer, and business strategist. Prior to Blacktag, Sow launched a multicultural creative agency — Lunchbox Studio based in Atlanta, Georgia in which he worked intimately with some of the world’s most recognizable brands including Google, Spotify, Adidas, Coca-Cola, as well as independent artists. Ousman was scouted by Google’s agency division where he produced campaigns for their products and services in urban markets. While working in the tech world, Ousman was frequently faced with the stark imbalance between Black creative power and economic equity — the common thread that connected him to Akin and the founding of Blacktag. Through creating Blacktag, Ousman and Akin hope to solve for the fact that there is no modern, unified platform that successfully celebrates creators and brings brands and audiences together to consume, connect, celebrate, and empower Black people around the world.
