Jason Waskey is a Principal Creative Director at Microsoft, where he has worked for over 20 years. He has worked in Mixed Reality development for the last 11 years—first with Microsoft Research, and then as a member of the original HoloLens program. Jason has been a part of Microsoft’s volumetric video effort since its beginning in 2010. He currently works as part of the company’s Mixed Reality Capture Studios team.


Christina Heller is the CEO of Metastage. Since its founding in 2018, Metastage has completed over 150 productions with major brands and award winning projects, including two Emmy nominations. Metastage is the first North American partner for the Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture technology. Prior to leading Metastage, Christina was the CEO of VR Playhouse, an immersive content company with immersive projects featured at SXSW, Sundance, and Festival de Cannes. She is a recipient of the Advanced Imaging Society's Distinguished Leadership in Technology Award and was named in the Huffington Post as one of 5 women changing the virtual reality scene. She is currently on the board of advisors for the Real Time Conference and the Television Academy's interactive Peer Group. Her writing and research on volumetric video has been published in the textbook, Handbook of Research on the Global Impacts and Roles of Immersive Media (2019), and What is Augmented Reality? Everything You Wanted to Know Featuring Exclusive Interviews with Leaders of the AR Industry (2019).

 

Artur Souza, VP Business Engineering, Global Business Group, Meta: Artur leads a team of nearly 200 Business Engineers that enables global businesses to thrive using Meta technology and partner solutions. Meta’s Business Engineering organization is an external facing team of entrepreneurial engineers that solves business challenges with technology. Artur has been an integral part of many product developments and launches over the years including Dynamic Ads, WhatsApp Business API and Collaborative Ads. He also oversaw Meta’s Conversions API Gateway from ideation to development and finally global launch this year. Lately Artur’s team has been partnering with businesses to understand opportunities in the metaverse while experimenting with emerging technologies like NFTs, crypto currencies, AR/VR and more. Artur has been with Meta for 9 years and before that, he graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering at UNICAMP (Brazil) and has contributed to several open-source projects during his career.

 

Nigel Tierney serves as Head of Content for Yahoo Ryot Lab, a subsidiary of Verizon Media, overseeing the development, creative, art production, & marketing departments. Nigel is shepherding the advancement of immersive 5G content specifically targeting the integration of storytelling, brand, & celebrity, as well as creating original content across Yahoo & Verizon Media’s suite of brands as well as Verizon’s partners Disney, Snap, NFL & Time. Notably, Nigel directed & produced the critically acclaimed and award winning EARTH with Lil Dicky, Leonardo Dicaprio, Ariana Grande & 30 other celebrity artists which launched the global campaign WeLoveTheEarth.org. In addition to spearheading content; Nigel has led a team to build out Yahoo Ryot Lab’s state-of-the-art and first-of-its-kind 5G Innovation Studio. As the first 5G production studio in the country, this new broadcast facility in Los Angeles is fitted with the latest in motion and volumetric capture technology, all of which has been designed to experiment with forms of storytelling that leverage Verizon’s 5G technology. Prior to his time at Yahoo Ryot Lab, Nigel served as Chief Creative for a variety of animated projects responsible for over tens-of-millions in views as well as Senior Technical Director at DreamWorks Animation with award winning credits including a variety of tentpole franchises such as SHREK FOREVER AFTER, THE CROODS, KUNG FU PANDA 3, & CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS. Nigel is also known for creating the world famous J/K COMEDY CLUB, a hidden club located in the heart of the DreamWorks Campus, that showcases a wide variety of celebrity comedians.

 

John Canning, Director Developer Relations - Creators, AMD. John Canning, a leading expert in all "Media, Technology and Platform Issues" has recently joined AMD. For the past few years, he had been with Digital Domain, - renown for creative visual effects for feature films, including the recent Avengers Infinity War movie. They also create visuals for advertising, games, training, and immersive content, including their own original content. Prior to Digital Domain, John was the VP of Interactive Experiences for NBCUniversal, creating VR and other digital experiences for The Voice, Million Second Quiz, The Blacklist, and others. In the past, he’s also spent several years at both Microsoft and Disney. On the side, he’s the Chairman of the New Media Council at the Producers Guild of America. He’s also an independent producer, cinematographer, and photographer for good causes.
