Grant Michaelson, Vice President, Business Affairs, Disney Branded Television: As vice president of business affairs at Disney Channels Worldwide, Michaelson has a background in entertainment litigation and has moved from entertainment law firms to his current in-house position with Disney, where he works in the realms of Disney +, Disney Channel, and Disney XD. Michaelson will discuss his journey with intellectual property in the entertainment industry, and will describe the intellectual property foundations of Disney and the intellectual property careers in law within Disney's legal affairs department.


Christina Chung serves as the Vice President, Technical Services and Revenue Operations, Digital and Streaming media, for Estrella Media. Estrella Media is a leader in multi-platform Spanish-language ad-supported distribution, streaming over 800 million minutes per month across FAST, AVOD, social and audio platforms. In her role Christina has been instrumental in launching and operating Estrella Media’s digitial infrastructure, ad tech support and stack, establishing new business intelligence reporting, and selecting and managing numerous vendor integrations critical for monetizing a rapidly growing multi-platform business. Prior to joining Estrella Media, Chung held team leadership account and solutions engineering positions at Freewheel, where she worked on strategic accounts including The Walt Disney Company, FOX Networks, Sony Crackle and Discovery. While at Freewheel, her primary focus was on developing seamless video monetization solutions from “pitch-to-pay” in both the field driving business requirements as well as on the platform working with engineers to bring solutions to market. She also has a background in private equity and investment banking. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the IESE Business School in Spain, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Marketing and Journalism from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business.

 

Evan Giamanco is senior vice president of sales strategy & ad product at WarnerMedia. In this role, Giamanco is responsible for the development and execution of WarnerMedia’s advertising strategy and ad product development efforts. Based in New York, he reports to Lonn Lee, SVP, Innovation, Content Technology & Operations at WarnerMedia. Giamanco plays a key role in creating a holistic sales approach across WarnerMedia’s business, which includes their entertainment, news and family verticals, focusing on their on and off-platform monetization efforts and go-to-market strategies. Before taking on his current role, Giamanco served as senior vice president of sales strategy and operations, where he led sales strategy and ad product development across CNN Digital. Giamanco was previously vice president of business operations at SimpleReach, a company that specializes in providing content creators with measurement and optimization capabilities across digital and social channels. There, he built an operations team from the ground up, while leading campaign management and marketing across the company. Prior to SimpleReach, Giamanco was vice president of Business Insider Studios & ad strategy at Business Insider, and spent over nine years of his career at People.com, where he established his digital background. Giamanco has a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and e-commerce from Fordham University, as well as a Master of Business Administration in marketing and e-commerce from St. John’s University.

 

Natalie Bastian currently serves as Senior Vice President, Marketing at Tubi, overseeing advertising and consumer marketing strategy, partner marketing, audience research, brand positioning and communications. Bastian leads a team of marketers and creatives who bring to market new content and product launches, thought leadership, strategic sales positioning and communications. Bastian most recently served as Head of Sales Marketing at Roku where she spearheaded positioning strategy across all client segments and touchpoints, including sales materials, digital channels, and owned and sponsored events. While there, she was instrumental in the sales organization doubling in size in the course of two years. She also led integrated marketing efforts for its sponsorship business, which grew triple digits year-over-year. Prior to Roku, Bastian held marketing leadership roles at DISH and Sling Media, most recently serving as General Manager of Marketing where she built and oversaw marketing and communications efforts that enabled a multi-million-dollar ad sales division. In her time there, she led the launch of an industry-first OTT ad offering that showcased addressable targeting and programming solutions, and also oversaw a rebrand and promotion of DISH Media. Bastian began her career in various marketing roles at A+E Networks, iN Demand, Lifetime Networks and AT&T.

 

Jonathan Hurd has more than 30 years of consulting and industry experience in Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT). Jonathan has recently been leading Altman Solon’s unique proprietary consumer survey and simulation techniques to analyze the consumer trends in video viewing, movie theater attendance, and sports TV. He has worked with video distributors on product design and pricing of traditional and OTT services and has also been advising broadcast and cable TV networks on product and pricing strategy. In addition, Jonathan is frequently involved in conducting due diligence projects for potential investors in the TMT space, including areas such as traditional video delivery, internet video delivery, wireless infrastructure, digital advertising, and digital publishing. A regular presenter at Digital Hollywood, Streaming Media, and other industry conferences, Jonathan is also a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the group charged with investigating and selecting EMMY award recipients for innovative TV technology. Prior to Altman Solon, Jonathan was a Vice President with ADVENTIS, a TMT-focused strategy firm, and was a partner Mercer Management Consulting. Jonathan also held marketing and strategic planning positions at Lotus Development Corporation and he designed and created the Atari arcade video game “Food Fight” while working as a developer. Jonathan received a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
