Roger Clark, Senior Consultant Device Strategy, BT Group Chief Technology Office: In his present role is working within the Group CTO Technology Strategy department, Roger works with key industry players and researchers within BTs Research and Venturing department, to deliver converged services to next generation devices over BTs 21st Century Network. Previous to this, he worked within the Group CTO on building new service propositions for BT's 21st Century Network. During this time he helped develop the business case for a hybrid IPTV/Freeview service, which later became BTVision, launching this autumn. During his career in BT, Roger has worked extensively looking at the techno-economic, commercial and competitive impact of new technologies. He has consulted on a broad range of subjects, including Instant Messaging, VoIP, Broadband, IP and Internet, SMS, Wi-Fi, SIP, Presence, Mobile devices, IPTV, Digital TV, Videostreaming and many others. His role regularly requires him to present and explain new technologies to a wide range of different audiences. Roger Clark joined BT in 1994, having graduated from York University with a Masters degree in Electronic Systems Engineering.
Stefan Tweraser, VP, Marketing, Telekom Austria AG: Stefan Tweraser graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. He later became an assistant profes sor at the university from 1994 to 1997. From then until 1998 he was the Head of Studies at the Vienna Business School for Marketing and Sales. After that he joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant where he became partner in June 2003. Since June 2003 he has been the Head of Marketing Retail of Telekom Austria. With total managed revenues of approximately EUR 3.9 billion and roughly 14,000 employees in 2003, Telekom Austria is the largest telecommunications company in Austria and also one of the leading corporations in this country. Telekom Austria AG has been listed on both the Vienna and New York Stock Exchanges since November 2000. Around 2.9 million customers in the wireline segment and 4.9 million in the mobile communications segment place their trust in services provided by the Telekom Austria Group both in Austria and abroad.
Bob House, Vice President, CSMG ADVENTIS: Mr. House is Vice President with CSMG ADVENTIS and leads the London office. He has 18 years experience in strategy consulting. He holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Bristol, England, and an MBA from INSEAD, France. Mr House has conducted numerous strategy consulting assignments for corporate client across Europe including BT, Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica, O2, ntl, Orange, Siemens and eircom. His worked has spanned fixed and mobile services and has included extensive development of strategies for IP based services. A key part of this work has been the development of IPTV strategies and propositions. Examples of such work include: a) proposition development of triple play and VoD services for leading ISP and fixed incumbent; b) assessment of bandwidth economics for IPTV services for fixed incumbent; c) communications, entertainment and information convergence strategy for leading cable player; d) development of global content distribution strategy for next generation long distance carrier; e) development of strategic roadmap for cross-platform fixed-mobile IPTV services; f) triple play, voice, broadband and IPTV business case development for new entrant broadband service provider; g) strategy and opportunity assessment for mobile digital TV provider
Ben Reneker is a Senior Analyst at Kagan Research LLC, and heads up the companys international media markets research team in addition to following new technologies, digital rights management and mobile entertainment. He is a regular contributor to Kagans Interactive Video Investor, Kagan Media Money and Kagan Wireless Broadband newsletters. Ben Reneker is the lead analyst for IP-VIDEO, LATIN AMERICAN MULTICHANNEL MARKETS, ASIA PACIFIC MULTICHANNEL MARKETS, GLOBAL MULTICHANNEL MARKETS, ADVERTISING FORECAST and DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT databooks. In addition, he serves as a consultant for Kagan Media Appraisals specializing in global pay-TV markets, IPTV deployments, Internet media strategies, mobile entertainment and new media business models. Prior to joining Kagan World Media in February 2002, Mr. Reneker operated as an independent new media and mobile device consultant while serving as founder and president of ReelMind, Inc. a streaming media affinity portal targeting independent filmmakers and animators. Mr. Reneker holds a BA from The Colorado College and an MSc degree awarded with distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
David Groom, Vice President - Amdocs Consulting Division: David oversees worldw ide activities of the Amdocs Consulting Division, which is revolutionizing the way Amdocs consulting services create business value and help our customers--the worlds leading services companies--build stronger, more profitable customer relationships. David has more than 15 years experience in helping service providers realize their strategic intent through the fusion of technology and business operations. He specializes in strategy and business transformation and consolidation, and has extensive experience working with top-tier service providers in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and North America. Based in London, David drives the generation of company proprietary market research and insight. And he plays a leadership role in the formation and execution of Amdocs own corporate strategy. Prior to joining Amdocs, David held various management roles at Sema Group (now Atos Origin) and Cable & Wireless.
Stefan Hopmann is Business Development Director for IPTV and Portal Services at Swis scom Fixnet. Following a triple play strategy, Swisscom Fixnet implemented a complete IPTV Offering in 2006 based on its enhanced VDSL infrastructure. The service was launched on Nov. 1st 2006 and offers a large number of broadcast channels, VoD stores in three languages and new entertainment and sports content services. Stefan Hopmann was overseeing the product definition process for the IPTV Service and driving technology and architecture decisions as well as business strategy proposals supporting the Triple Play Program. He created a number of business development initiatives to align and cooperate with content providers and distribution partners. Taking the IPTV and Triple Play Program to a next level, Stefan Hopmann is now leading Swisscoms Initiative to identify and execute on growth and investment opportunities in the international Media and TV market. Stefan Hopmann joined Swisscom in 1999 as Director of Business Development for its residential internet provider, supporting its path to the leading Swiss Portal and Broadband Internet Provider by a number of product launches, partnerships and ventures. Prior to joining Swisscom, Stefan Hopmann was Manager in the Telecom Practice of Accenture.
