Musicians & AI: Technology as a Creative Tool and Creative Accelerator
Clearly AI is many different things to different people. It is very obviously a fast and easy way to generate quality music, lyrics and full production audio on a very professional level. Some would claim it is a form of “Musical Piracy.” At the same time, highly sophisticated musicians, producers and composers can take the best tools in AI and put them to use as “Creativity Accelerators,” making the job of the musician easier, fun and a great assistant in the production process. In this session our roundtable will more than talking heads, they will demo some of their favorite AI software and discuss the creative process.
Speakers:
Van Scott, Alt Pop Singer-Songwriter
Kellindo, Multi-instrumentalist, Singer-Songwriter
Seth A. Schachner, founder, Managing Director, Strat Americas, Moderator
Van Scott, Alt Pop Singer-Songwriter: A Berklee School of Music graduate, Van Scott is an alt pop singer-songwriter based in California. As a sought-after singer in the Hollywood session scene, Scott has had the chance to perform on some of the entertainment industry’s most well-known projects. Since his first professional recording session as part of the High School Music 3: Senior Year cast, he’s had the opportunity to sing for renowned film composers like Danny Elfman and Michael Giacchino, sung on blockbuster scores for La La Land, Jurassic World, and Sing, been a featured singer on ABC's Black-ish and FOX's The Simpsons, and has performed as a background vocalist for The Oscars and The Voice, to name just a few of his credits. But now, Scott's own artistry is stealing the spotlight, putting his multi-instrumental talent and songwriting skills front and center.
Kellindo, Multi-instrumentalist, Singer-Songwriter: Kellindo Parker, known simply as Kellindo, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and lead guitarist for Janelle Monae. He is a co-writer on the hit Grammy nominated album "Dirty Computer." Kellindo also leads his own band in Dallas, which blends blues, rock, and funk. Beyond his work with Monae, he has performed with Prince, Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind, & Fire. Kellindo is the nephew of Maceo Parker of James Brown's band, and the son of Columbia Law School's revered Professor Kellis Parker.
