In this session, Digital Hollywood recognizes the women, the voices of creative expression, women of political and social conscience and lifestyle innovation who embraced by millions of women and men across the country and the world.  We live in a difficult and challenging time and it is the voices of creativity who make our daily struggle to surive and thrive just a little bit more comforting.

Jenny Kaplan is co-founder and chief executive officer of Wonder Media Network (WMN), a pioneering audio-first media company. Founded in 2018 with Shira Atkins, and based in New York, WMN is committed to telling stories that inspire action, promote equality and justice, and introduce empathy into politics, business and culture. In less than two years, WMN has grown into an 11-person team that has created more than a dozen audio shows. WMN creates original podcasts and works with partners -- from startups to Fortune 10 companies -- to enhance their internal and external communications. Jenny hosts WMN's flagship podcast, Women belong in the House, a narrative-style series about the state of women on their way to -- and in the halls of -- the Capitol. She also hosts Encyclopedia Womannica, a daily podcast featuring bite-size stories of incredible women from throughout history who you may not know about, but definitely should. Prior to her work at WMN, Jenny was an award-winning journalist at Bloomberg News. There she covered global business, including everything from Coca-Cola to cannabis.


Hebah Fisher is the cofounder and CEO of Kerning Cultures, a Dubai-based podcast company. Kerning Cultures produces immersive podcasts for the curious listener. Our Arabic and English podcasts regularly top the charts across the Middle East.

 

A’shanti F. Gholar serves as the president of Emerge, the only organization dedicated to recruiting and training Democratic women to run for office. In this role, she leads the organization and steers its overall strategy and direction, overseeing a national staff as well as affiliates across the country. A’shanti is a nationally recognized political strategist, who most recently served as Emerge’s Political Director, responsible for strengthening national partnerships and working closely with state affiliates to strategically recruit for key seats, as well as directing the organization’s overall political strategy. For 15 years, A’shanti has been a grassroots organizer and activist for women, communities of color and progressive causes. She has experience in building coalitions, program development and community and political engagement. Prior to coming to Emerge America, A’shanti served as the National Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Director of African American Engagement for the Democratic National Committee. A’shanti has also served as the Manager of National Partnerships for United Way Worldwide, as a political appointee in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor and as the Director of Public Engagement for the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee in Charlotte, NC. A’shanti was recently named as one of She The People’s 20 for 2020, a list of women of color in politics who will play an impactful role in the 2020 elections. She was featured as a political influencer in CQ Roll Call Magazine, named a top woman of color in policy by Walker’s Legacy, and was awarded the “Changemaker” award by African American Women in Business Careers. In addition, A’shanti serves as an Advisory Board Member for Global GAIN, an Expert Advisor for Forward Majority Action, and as a Sisters on the Planet Ambassador for OxFam America. She is also the founder of The Brown Girls Guide to Politics, which was named one of the top podcasts to prepare people for the 2020 election by Marie Claire.
