Session B:

The Revolution in Publishing - Authors, Publishers and Commerce on the Net
The Internet is not only changing the relationship between authors and their audience, it is invading the chain of communication between of authors, agents and publishing companies. While nothing will replace the act of reading a book, or the tight personal relationships that make up the publishing industry power structure, the Internet is giving voice to authors in ways they never had before. Audio, video and interactive communication can be added to their mastery of the written word, the Internet can feed, supplement and extend the life of the book tour. Authors can develop relationships with online book sellers and turn a dedicated readership or cult following directly into book sales. In this session Digital Hollywood brings together some of the leading personalities in the publishing industry’s move in bringing content and commerce to the Internet.
