What was thought to be an end product with few alternatives, now turns out to be the first step in opening up the huge world of user customization, of targeted browsers or Net media players suited specifically for such fun things like entertainment. The opportunity exists for content companies to enhance their audience experience and an entire industry is about to emerge to assist in that effort. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1999 Mr. Ohlweiler held several positions with Hewlett Packard in finance and marketing where he managed North American business development for printers and scanners. Mr. Ohlweiler is responsible for developing MusicMatch's strategic industry, distribution and technology partners, as well as the company's sales program. Mr. Ohlweiler received a BS in Business Administration from Norwich University and an MBA from Purdue University. Duncan Kennedy, CEO, has led Tribeworks in its unique approach to developing and distributing rich-media authoring services, and has guided the Internet-direction of the company, software, and business model. Prior to co-founding Tribeworks, Mr. Kennedy served as a senior-level executive at MJuice (f. k. a. Audio Explosion), a leading source for music fans to purchase and download music via the Web. Prior to that, he led product marketing at Apple Computer for QuickTime. In that time, he brought the industry-leading multimedia software to PCs by implementing Apple's QuickTime for Windows project. Mr. Kennedy also served as Apple's multimedia Evangelist. QuickTime became the most widely distributed software product in Apple history. Also while at Apple, Mr. Kennedy lead Apple Computer's music group chartering the fulfillment of technology and solutions to record labels and artists enabling a more direct relationship between artists and fans. Oversaw relationships with music industry, representing $100MM+ in revenue. Prior to his success at Apple Computer, Mr. Kennedy formed the multimedia division of Cardon Rose Advertising and edited rock videos for Champagne productions in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science in bio-psychology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. James R. Lynch, vice president of business development at Voquette, Inc., is respon sible for establishing strategic business relationships with companies that create and deliver music, web audio content, and devices. Mr. Lynch has more than 18 years of experience in the software, computer, and telecommunications industries with both startups and large corporations. Prior to joining Voquette, Mr. Lynch was a founder and vice president of Liberate Technologies (formerly Network Computer, Inc.) and was responsible for all aspects of business operations. Before Liberate, he held senior marketing positions with Oracle Corporation and Sequent Computers, Inc.; and sales and marketing positions with Data General Corporation. Mr. Lynch received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1980 from the University of Connecticut.Richard T. Brownrigg, Jr., Product Unit Manager, RealJukebox, RealNetworks, Inc.: Richard T. Brownrigg, Jr. is currently the Product Unit Manager for the RealJukebox product line, the most popular digital music system available. Ryc's Group is responsible for design, development and marketing of the RealJukebox and RealJukebox Plus. Prior to joining RealNetworks, Ryc was Chief Engineer, Internet Initiatives, for Gateway, Inc., where he launched and subsequently managed the company's Internet service, gateway.net. In addition to RealNetworks, Ryc has managed teams in development, marketing, sales and client support roles at companies including Fifth Generations Systems and Cardinal Technologies since he received his degree from Michigan Tech in 1981. Laura Betterly, President Visiosonic (PCDJ.com); Laura Betterly, President and Co-Founder of PCDJ.com, is one of the few female voices in the digital music movement. An avid entrepreneur and former musician, Betterly's background is wide in scope and encompasses the industries of entertainment, technology and financial management. Upon entering the glamorous world of digital music, Betterly found herself as spokesperson for PCDJ.com, lecturing on behalf of digital formats, the internet and music industry issues. She is pioneering the digital music landscape by forming strategic alliances with hundreds of independent labels, producers and djs. |
