| Tuesday, May 16 Workshop 11:15 AM - 1:15 PM Session B: Personal TV Recorders and Other Consumer Electronic Devices - Technology Redefines Content & Commerce The idea of the personal TV recorder, which was a distinct concept, something seemingly understandable so recently, now appears to be morphing into a whole new hybrid category which will redefine how the consumer will not only receive audio and video data but it is threatening to revolutionize the way they relate to it as well. And all this is happening before most of us have even touched one of the new personal TV devices. As usual, it is Internet technology that is working its way into the picture, making it possible for viewers, for example, to get secondary companion programming in addition to their favorite shows. Is the set-top box and the personal recorder ultimately headed in the same direction? In this session we will find out that and more.
