Dick Wolf, Emmy Award-winning Producer, Law & Order

Dick Wolf,
one of television’s most respected drama series creator/producers, is the creator and executive producer of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning, highly-acclaimed drama series Law & Order, the new NBC series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and the highly-anticipated new first-run reality strip series Arrest and Trial. Wolf is also creator and executive producer of Deadline, a new NBC series for Fall 2000 starring Oliver Platt.

Now in its tenth season on NBC and the longest running drama series currently on network television, Law & Order has received a record eight consecutive Outstanding Drama Series Emmy nominations and won the coveted Emmy in that category in 1997. With NBC’s unprecedented five year pick up (through 2005), Law & Order will become the longest-running police series and the second longest running drama series in the history of television. Law & Order’s other accolades include: the prestigious Peabody Award; multiple Emmys; the Crystal Apple Award from the New York City’s Mayor’s office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting; the Writer’s Guild Award for Television and numerous other high ranking tributes.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has emerged as one of the top-rated new drama series for the 1999-2000 season and has been renewed through the 2002 season. The "Law & Order-branded" series focuses on the effects of crime on some of the most vulnerable members of society, but in the tradition of Law & Order it focuses on the aftermath and affects of these serious crimes on its victims, rather than depicting them onscreen.

In addition to the two NBC series, the Law & Order brand includes the highly-rated NBC telefilm Exiled: A Law & Order Movie in which Chris Noth reprised his role as Detective Mike Logan.

Arrest and Trial,
currently cleared in close to 95 percent of the country, is one of the highest profile new first-run strip series for Fall 2000. The innovative dramatic reality series breaks new ground in the syndication arena by following highly charged criminal cases from the police investigation through the final verdict. Wolf and Rob Port (from Maury Povich’s MoPo Entertainment) are serving as executive producers.

Deadline
