New Zealand: International Partner in Co-production
New Zealand has a thriving and very successful film industry. New Zealand-based film companies specialize in commercials, documentaries, short films, dramas, and feature films. Wellington is a leading production center for New Zealand film production, including large-scale production features such as Lord of the Rings. New Zealand has begun to recognize that it has the capability to co-produce with other countries and through this workshop, the New Zealand panel will develop this concept with U.S. film companies and film equipment providers.

Jon Labrie, Chief Technical Office, Weta Digital: Jon is involved in the production of "Lord of the Rings" and will use this opportunity to show footage from Lord of the Rings. He will also outline Weta Digital's capability, LOTR progress, use of SGI gear and special effects

Dean Lyons, Oktobor: Oktobor specialize in tv commercials, effects and interactive R&D. Dean will present some of Oktobor's current work and present the company's outline capabilities and future direction

Mario Wynands, Sidhe Interactive: Mario's presentation will focus on New Zealand's views of the gaming market and opportunities for U.S. business in this marketplace

SGI will be able to demonstrate the value of New Zealand’s digital multimedia industry to their company and endorse the investment in hardware that the industry is currently making.
