Digital Media Hubs: Deploying Content to Multiple Platforms & Devices
A next generation media network means having to face up to the problem of inconsistent performance in the midst of expansion and massive growth. Digital content must also be deliverable into a narrowband and broadband Internet, wireless, DTV, broadcast or set-top environment. The content and technology industry must expand is horizons to provide flexible “Media Hubs” that successfully deliver content and services to the consumer. In this session, leading players from the Internet, computer and telecommunications industries will present their visions of our evolving future. There never is only one solution to a problem, and with a task as large as this one, evaluating various approaches will be fascinating.

Robin Wang, Director Marketing, Dalet Digital Media System: Robin Wang has 14 years of sales, marketing, and R&D experience in media and telecommunications. He is currently the Director of Marketing for Dalet Digital Media Systems, a worldwide provider of content management solutions for broadcasters and content providers. He has previously held positions at Lucent Technologies, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Netcast.com, an early webcasting pioneer. Robin is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and Columbia University and has served as an Adjunct Professor at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.

Tim Hampson is Interwoven's Vice President of Enterprise Marketing. Tim's responsibilities include corporate messaging, analyst relations, product launch, and the 'content commandos' - a group of industry practitioners who use their domain expertise to ensure customer success. Previously within Interwoven, Tim held the position of Director of International Marketing. Tim brings to Interwoven over 12 years software industry experience. Previously General Manager of Nihon Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Japan. Prior to Genesys, Tim has also held a number of sales and marketing positions with IBM, Sybase, Illustra, and Informix. Tim was educated in the United Kingdom with a B.Sc in Physics from Manchester University and holds a Ph.D in Theoretical Physics from Nottingham University.








Deepak Srinivasan, CEO, enScaler: Mr. Srinivasan brings to enScaler a blend of entrepreneurial, marketing and technology experience with over 15 years in broadband, home networking, consumer video applications, consumer marketing and strategic information systems. Prior to enScaler he was with ShareWave, a startup pioneering the home networking market, where he managed the wireless networking and video compression chipsets. From 1994 to 1997 Deepak held the positions of Director Product Marketing and Business Development with Elcom Technologies, a home networking startup, where he launched several products into consumer retail, OEM and service provider channels. From 1985 to 1994 Deepak consulted in software /IT in US, Europe and India. Deepak has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kanpur (India). He is an aviation enthusiast and counts photography and geopolitics among his many interests.








Bill Foulkes, Vice President, Business Development Context Media: Bill leads Context Media's Marketing and Business Development teams in strategizing the direction of the company's products and business relationships. Previously, Bill was at Telesis/Towers Perrin, a strategy consulting firm specializing in market entry strategies for broadband and telecommunications technologies. At Telesis, Bill's contributions included managing major customer relationships and contributing to the firm's expansion into several new lines of business. Prior to Telesis, Bill managed several brands for The Gillette Company which represented nearly $200M of that company's business. Bill's background also includes time spent serving as an assistant vice president at Waller Capital Corporation, and as an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Morgan Stanley. Bill graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration with an MBA, and earned his B.A. in History from Harvard University. Bill's speaking experience includes such events as RealScreen Summit, iSyndicate Syndication Summit, eMediatainment World, Streaming Media West and Digital Hollywood Broadband.

Mark Lieberman, Chairman & CEO, Interactive Video Technologies (IVT): As an entrepreneur, executive, venture capitalist and government official, Mark Lieberman has played a leading role in advancing the convergence between technology, communications and media. Mr. Lieberman joined Softcom® as CEO in January 2000, after serving as Chairman of the Board for one year. He assumed the same titles after Softcom merged with Interactive Video Technologies in July 2000. Previously, Mr. Lieberman served as President of About.com Ventures, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships and channel development. From 1996 through 1998, Mr. Lieberman was the Executive Vice President, Entertainment, Communications & Media division of Cahners Business Information, a Reed Elsevier company. He oversaw the company's entertainment assets, including Variety, Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News magazines. Prior to joining Reed Elsevier, Mr. Lieberman was the founder and President of Abel Technologies, where he helped found and raise funds for DIVA Systems, a video-on-demand service company (DIVA has raised $350 million to date). In addition, Mr. Lieberman was the founder and CEO of Sarnoff Real Time Corporation. He served in the Bush Administration from 1989 through 1991 as Associate Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary for Technology (Acting) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Lieberman attended law school at the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York City, and graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University in 1981 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Lieberman is on the Boards of Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Hookt.com and the UJA's Entertainment Media & Communications division. In addition, Mr. Lieberman is a member of the 2001 U.S. Masters Basketball Team for the Maccabiah Games

David Wilkins, President and Chief Executive Officer, is a founding partner of VertigoXmedia, and has led the company's strategic vision since assuming the role of CEO in early 1996. Mr. Wilkins' career spans more than 12 years in the high-tech field, including progressive senior management positions at CAE Electronics, where he was responsible for several large-scale flight simulator development programs and managed the company's engineering group. David also brings expertise from Discreet Logic, where he managed multimedia system integration projects and was involved in the development of the first real-time 3-D broadcast graphics system. Mr. Wilkins has a Bachelors degree in Engineering and a Masters degree in Business Administration.










Scott Yara, Chairman & CEO, Co-Founder, Metapa: Before he co-founded Metapa, Scott Yara served as vice president of corporate strategy for Digital Island, an Internet infrastructure services company. At Digital Island, Mr. Yara developed the company’s long-term growth initiatives and directed fund-raising activities, strategic positioning efforts, and non-organic growth opportunities. Prior to Digital Island, Mr. Yara served as vice president of marketing for Sandpiper Networks, an Internet content delivery services company, where he oversaw the company’s product management and corporate marketing efforts, and assisted in the areas of business development and strategic financing. Before joining Sandpiper, Mr. Yara was involved in the founding of the enterprise application services company, nCommand. Mr. Yara holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, where he studied history, computer science, and electrical engineering.
