Andy founded the ON Demand Group in 1995 with company CEO Tony Kelly and the pair have been leaders in the development of the concept of transactional television over the last two decades. The Groups unparalleled knowledge of the consumer market as well as the broadcasting industry enables it to offer expert-level management and consultancy to some of the biggest international brand names in the media marketplace. He was Managing Director of The Movie Channel at British Satellite Broadcasting (BSB) from 1986-90 and was also responsible for the acquisition of its non-UK output. Before joining BSB Andy founded and was the Chief Executive of Premiere, the UKs first pay-TV film channel which was owned by a partnership of Columbia Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros, HBO, Viacom, BT and Mirror Group Newspapers. Andy met Tony Kelly 15 years ago when developing Premiere. Russ Krapf is the CEO of Keen Personal Media (Keen PM). Keen PM provides interactive broadband products and services for TV and Internet content management and T-commerce. Keen PM is dedicated to becoming the leader in personal media technology solutions for the home entertainment market. Keen PM's first product, TV4me, is a next-generation Personal Video Recorder (PVR) technology that is designed specifically for cable operators. Keen PM's premier investment partner is Western Digital Corporation. Russ started working in the disk drive industry in 1974. At Nashua Corporation, he was in charge of operations for the disk and disk pack division. Russ was VP, General Manager of Memorex's rigid media business in 1981 and he was President, CEO and Chairman of Grenex, one of the first sputtered media businesses. He sold that company to Seagate and it became Seagate Magnetics in 1985. Russ was President, CEO and Chairman of Lapine Technology, one of the first 95mm drive companies, and President of Censtor, developing vertical recording heads and media. In 1997 Russ became VP, General Manager of Western Digital's Media Division. After selling that division to Komag, he took over Western Digital's business unit dedicated to the AV market. Russ served as President of IDEMA, the association for the data storage industry, for four years and is a Member Emeritus of IDEMA's Board of Directors. Larry Hess, Video Networks USA, Home Choice Service: Larry Hess, Vice Presiden t of Programming and Acquisitions USA, launched the company's Los Angeles office in 2000. Previously, he spent three years at Sony Pictures Entertainment as director, worldwide pay-per-view, responsible for budgeting, marketing and new business licensing for PPV and VOD clients for Columbia TriStar International Television. He segued to the post from manager, Pay TV, where he oversaw the creation, negotiation and maintenance of license agreements for U.S. stand-alone pay-per-view customers and Request Affiliates. Before joining Sony, Hess spent three years in advertising at Interview Magazine. Hess holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from the University of Southern California.Bill Thornton, V.P. Business Development and Marketing, Reliacast: Bill Thornton joined Reliacast in April 2000 and is responsible for driving the strategic marketing and business development activities for the company. He brings with him nearly 22 years of experience in sales and marketing involving complex, high technology business solutions that were targeted at large commercial, government and international customers. Prior to joining Reliacast, Mr. Thornton served as Business Development Manager for Internet and e-Business solutions at Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for defining, creating and evangelizing the market adoption of Oracle's Internet and e-Business solutions. He was also Oracle's Internet Procurement and Marketplace solutions expert and led the Oracle sales team in many strategic Procure-to-Pay opportunities. Previously, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at BSL Associates, Inc. and held a variety of positions at Amdahl Corporation, IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation and Beckman Instruments. Mr. Thornton received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. |
