Stuart Lerner, Consultant for Financial Planning and Analysis, Mondo Media Bill Piwonka, Vice President of Marketing, Measurecast Chaz Austin, President, Austin Digital Media, Moderator Eric Shepcaro, CEO, Broadstream: Mr. Shepcaro has more than 20 years of technical sales, marketing and general management experience. Prior to joining BroadStream, Shepcaro was responsible for leading Digital Island's international content delivery, managed hosting and applications businesses as well as developing and managing their partners, alliances and channel programs worldwide. Previously, Shepcaro served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service for Sandpiper Networks, a leader in content and edge delivery networks. In addition, Shepcaro spent over 17 years at Sprint Corporation in various capacities. Shepcaro served as Vice President Sales Engineering and Application Support, Vice President Product Marketing, Vice President/General Manager as well as several other key positions in the business services arena. He has extensive experience in data networking, IP services and e-commerce initiatives. Active in several charitable endeavors including the United Way and Boys and Girls Clubs, Shepcaro resides in Malibu California with his wife and two children. T.S. Kelly heads the Internet Media Strategies service of NetRatings Inc. Mr. Kelly wo rks in the companys New York office, overseeing analysis of developing Internet media companies as well as Nielsen//NetRatings data on local markets, rich and streaming media, connection speed trends, and other key indicators critical to decision makers in the media community. Mr. Kelly is a frequent speaker at many Internet media focused events such as eTV World, Entertainment Online, Streaming Media, and Digital Hollywood. He regularly speaks on "Converge for Success in the New Broadband World," and additional topics include bandwidth/Internet connection speed data, streaming media profiles, and broadband content and content evolution. Mr. Kelly has over 10 years of experience in both interactive and traditional media research. Before joining NetRatings, he was director of research and marketing for the Katz Media Corporation. Here he held positions in strategic development and planning for the companys radio division, the Katz Radio Group. He was responsible for managing the companys research department and strategic development, with much of his focus on technology analysis, ad placement, broadcast marketing and multi-media audience measurement. He also served as Director of Marketing and Research for Katz Millennium Interactive, the predecessor to the Internet advertising sales and representation company now known as 24/7 Media. Mr. Kelly earned a B.A. in mass communication from Adelphi University and a masters degree in cable and broadcast management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Syracuse University. He is proficient in both audio and video production, having managed the Adelphi University-affiliated radio station, WBAU-FM.Terri Swartz, Vice President Marketing, Navic Networks: Terri Swartz brings to the company more than a decade of product marketing and busines s development experience. Swartz recently served as vice president of product marketing for MoreCom, Inc., where she spearheaded strategic and tactical plans for marketing and public relations, and was instrumental in positioning the start-up for a $500 million acquisition by Liberate Technologies. Swartz was a product manager at General Instrument Corporation, where she directed business activities for one of the companys advanced set-top terminal lines with annual revenues of $300 million. Swartz was recently named one of the cable industry's "Women to Watch in 2001" by Cablevision Magazine. Each year, the magazine dedicates one issue to profile the most powerful women in cable, as well as spotlighting up-and-coming leaders, such as Swartz, whom they think will set the pace of the industry in the coming year.Bill Thornton, V.P. Business Development and Marketing, Reliacast: Bill Thornton joined Reliacast in April 2000 and is responsible for driving the strategic marketing and business development activities for the company. He brings with him nearly 22 years of experience in sales and marketing involving complex, high technology business solutions that were targeted at large commercial, government and international customers. Prior to joining Reliacast, Mr. Thornton served as Business Development Manager for Internet and e-Business solutions at Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for defining, creating and evangelizing the market adoption of Oracle's Internet and e-Business solutions. He was also Oracle's Internet Procurement and Marketplace solutions expert and led the Oracle sales team in many strategic Procure-to-Pay opportunities. Previously, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at BSL Associates, Inc. and held a variety of positions at Amdahl Corporation, IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation and Beckman Instruments. Mr. Thornton received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. Brad Bedford is the vice president, Sales, Arbitron Webcast Services. A 20-year veteran of Arbitron, Mr. Bedford began his career at Arbitron as a salesperson the Chicago office in the Radio Station Services division. He continued to move through Arbitron as an account executive for Radio Station Services in the New York office before leaving for Los Angeles in 1988 to become the western division manager. While in LA, Brad was appointed vice president of Asian Marketing to build Arbitrons presence in Japan. Prior to Arbitron, he worked as a general manager at WCBN-FM in Ann Arbor while studying at University of Michigan. He has also worked in New York at WNBC Radio as assistant to the program director and at WABC TV as an associate producer. Mr. Bedford graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a degree in Communications and Psychology.Stuart Lerner, Consultant for Financial Planning and Analysis, Mondo Media: For the past three years, Mr. Lerner has served as manager of financial planning and analysis for Mondo Media, a developer and syndicator of animation for the Internet. He aided the company's move from providing services and games to developing original on-line entertainment. Mr. Lerner was instrumental in implementing financial practices and plans for revenues, expenses, and traffic, allowing Mondo Media to secure venture capital funding. His analysis covered the financial impact of all of the company's deals, including those with large web portals His previous work included financial planning and budget analysis at Sony Columbia/Tri-Star Studios. Mr. Lerner also helps early-stage companies, especially digital entertainment companies, to obtain financing and works with venture capital firms to implement financial planning at their early-stage portfolio companies. Mr. Lerner earned an MFA from the Producer's Program from the School of Cinema/Television at the University of Southern California, an MBA with emphasis in finance from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, and a BS in finance from the University of Illinois.Chaz Austin is President of Austin Digital Media (chazaustin.com), which advises co mpanies how to make money in digital media. He has worked in the industry since 1992, specializing in digital entertainment and eCommerce strategies. He has been the HollywoodNet's "Hollywood CyberPro" columnist since 1997, and written about such topics as wireless, the dotcom retrenchment, media integration, the role of entertainment on the web, and future trends in digital media. He was a New Technology Agent at the Agency for the Performing Arts, and has spoken at over three dozen trade shows and conferences, including Warner Brothers' Corporate Training & Development Program, The Fuji Television Media Training Seminar, NATPE, NAB, Digital Hollywood, Streaming Media West, The Consumer Electronics Show, The Cable Television Marketing Association, Financial & Administrative Management Executives in Entertainment, eTV World, The Internet Commerce Expo, and The Computer Game Developers Conference. Mr. Austin has also been an Instructor in the Entertainment Studies Department at UCLA Extension since 1998.Bill Piwonka, Vice President of Marketing, MeasureCast, Inc.: Bill directs MeasureCast's marketing programs and strategies. He has more than 11 years high-tech marketing experience. Previously, Bill served as product line manager for WebTrends Corporation's eBusiness Intelligence and Systems Management Solutions. He also held marketing management positions at Intel and Oracle. Bill earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University. |
