iPad-Tablet-SmartPhone Advertising & Innovation - the Premium Platform
In prior generations, mobile advertising has been something less than booming industry. The mobile phone – because of size and network limitations – had hardly lived up to its promise. However, with the Tablet – SmartPhone explosion, the advertising and marketing industries now have a more than worthy partner in reaching and interacting with the consumer. The Tablet represents a premium relationship to the consumer that not only complements the TV platform, but likely represents a connective tissue that reaches up into the TV platform as well as down into the SmartPhone device. We are now entering an always-connected consumer commerce relationship.

GRAEME HUTTON, SVP, Group Partner, Research, UM: Graeme came from the UK to the US in the late 90s, and his only regret is that he did not do it sooner! Graeme joined UM in 2006. At UM, he has engineered and activated a broad-based set of integrated communications and consumer insight tools which dovetail in to the agency's burgeoning arsenal of media research products and systems. His key clients include Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment. In the mid 90's, Graeme was chairman of the UK's Audit Bureau of Circulations where he doubled the company's revenues in two years by developing their business press and online media auditing. At that time, he also won the Media Award for Research from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, the UK's leading advertising industry body for his thought leadership on how to develop media measurement. In 2010, his regression modeling for Sony Electronics won the Word of Mouth of Marketing Association's Gold Award for Research. For this award, he developed a regression model demonstrating that the relationship between advertising and word of mouth was competitive - advertising-generated WOM is primarily dependent upon share of voice to help drive brand mentions. His speaking engagements in 2012 included the Advertising Research Foundation's summit on social media and social TV trends, and the Word of Mouth Marketing Association's annual conference on how advertising impacts word of mouth. He is a regular contributor to Jack Myers Media Biz Bloggers and Shelly Palmer's Digital Leadership. Graeme is a member of the Media Measurement Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and an editorial advisor to the Internationalist, the global marketing title.
