Eric Fitzgerald Reed, Vice President - Entertainment & Tech Policy, Verizon Communications: Eric Fitzgerald Reed, Vice President – Market Issues and Policy for Verizon in Washington, D.C., is responsible for analyzing and managing telecommunications developments and high-tech industry matters as they relate to public policy. Mr. Reed leads Verizon’s outreach to an array of stakeholders in digital media, information technology, content and entertainment, and major sports leagues with vested interests in telecommunications policy, regulatory and legislative matters. In this role, he advances the company’s positions and analyzes emerging technologies, market trends and related telecommunications policy issues. In addition to his high-tech and digital media responsibilities, Eric manages relations with telecommunications equipment manufacturers and suppliers, trade associations, strategic partners, government agencies and industry groups important to the policy process. He began his career at Verizon in November 2000 and has worked in various government affairs and legal functions since joining the company. Eric was promoted to his current position in the Public Affairs, Policy and Communications organization in December 2006. Mr. Reed was appointed by Administrator Hector Barreto of the United States Small Business Administration to the SBA National Advisory Council in March 2006. He is also a member of the Consumer Electronics Association – Small Business Council Board, the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America – Council on Small Business and the Women Impacting Public Policy – Corporate Advisory Board. Mr. Reed received his Masters in Business Administration from University of Maryland University College in May 2005. He also received a Masters of Science in Telecommunications Management from University of Maryland University College in 2001 and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from American University in 1996. Mr. Reed has also completed executive management coursework at the University of Virginia - Darden Graduate School of Business.

Jay Samit, President, ooVoo: Prior to joining Sony, Samit was Global President of Digital Dist
ribution & Development for EMI Recorded Music. Under Samit’s guidance, the company broke new ground with its forays into wireless OTA, ringtones, streaming radio, secure P2P and subscription business models. Samit championed digital download initiatives, and created company-wide policies that combated piracy and enabled artists to make significant gains in the online music space. Samit’s aggressive move into mobile and the digital distribution of music made New Media into the leading profit center for the company—generating over $100 million in profit. Active in the developer community, Samit nurtured start-up companies and helped take them public in markets around the globe. Working with artist and managers to develop new sustainable revenue streams, along with his role as one of the leading authorities on new media, garnered Samit the Gavin Label Executive of the Year in 2000. Active Board member on both public company boards and private advisory boards.





George Tupy, Marketing Solution Manager, Service Provider Group, Cisco Systems: George Tupy
brings more than twenty years of experience in the rich media and video networking industry to his current position as Marketing Solution Manager with Cisco’s Service Provider Group. His responsibilities include leading Cisco’s global marketing initiatives for media, satellite and broadcast. Mr. Tupy previously held management positions with Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems. His experience includes work with rich media, digital rights management, media data centers, content delivery networks, IPTV, mobile networking products, and video servers.

Jeff Demain, Research Strategy and Business Development Director -
Intel Lab: Jeff is the Strategy and Business Initiative Director for Intel Labs. He works with the lab, external partners and the Intel Business Units to drive the research into product opportunities. He is also responsible for outbound marketing initiatives and communications. Prior to his current role Jeff worked on research and product development programs in the Enterprise Computing Group, the Super Computing Group, and the Technology Manufacturing Development Group. He has been a Grand Judge at the Intel Science and Engineering Fair, supporting the advancement of students. His work has taken him around the globe, including a program on the summit of Mauna Kea.









Erik I. Moreno serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, for Fox Networks Group (a division of News Corporation), where he is responsible for identifying new business and strategic opportunities, as well as work on acquisitions and joint ventures. Mr. Moreno is also Co-General Manager of the Mobile Content Venture (MCV), a joint venture of 12 broadcasters that are working to deliver live digital television to mobile devices in the United States. Mr. Moreno has previously served as Director of Corporate Development for eBay Inc. and as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy for Level 3 Communications, a global wholesale telecommunications company. Mr. Moreno began his career at Gleacher & Co., a boutique investment bank specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Moreno is a Trustee of USA Funds(r), a nonprofit corporation that has served approximately 22 million students and parents enhance postsecondary education preparedness, access and success by providing financial and other services. He resides with his wife, Cara, and their three children in Los Angeles, California.





Kurt Hoppe, Director of Smart TV Innovation and Alliances, LG Electronics: Kurt Hopp
e is responsible for driving innovation via strategic partnerships for the LG Home Entertainment Division. Kurt has spent 10+ years building cloud-connected solutions for Service Providers, CE companies, and Content Owners, delivering value-added services to over 50M users worldwide. He has held business development, product marketing, and product management roles at Digeo, 2Wire, and Amdocs, working with customers such as AT&T, Time Warner Cable, and Best Buy, to name a few. Kurt studied Computer Science at the Royal Military College of Canada and Human Computer Interaction at the University of British Columbia.














Jay Fehnel, VP, Business Development, Redbox: Jay Fehnel is VP, Business Development for Redbox, America's destination for movies and video games. He leads a team that develops new businesses, revenue streams and strategic partnerships. Before joining Redbox, Fehnel was Chief Operating Officer of Tribune Media Services Entertainment Products, a leading provider of entertainment metadata for media and technology companies. He led a team of 500 people serving 4,000 customers in 40 countries. Fehnel has also worked for The Walt Disney Co. and NBC and is a former board director of Yellowbrix, Inc. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and Purdue University, where he serves on the Advisory Board of the Brian Lamb School of Communication.







Tim Hanlon, Founder and CEO, The Vertere Group, LLC: Most recently, Hanlon was Executive Vice
President/Managing Director of VivaKi Ventures, the strategic partnership and investment arm of VivaKi – the digital services hub of marketing services agency holding company Publicis Groupe, S.A., comprising Starcom MediaVest Group, Zenith Optimedia Group, Digitas, Razorfish, and Denuo. He was chiefly responsible for the solicitation, negotiation and oversight of the unit’s strategic partnership and investment activity – including formal advisory and directorial positions with over three dozen early-stage companies – an outgrowth of his previous work as head of ventures activity for both Denuo and Publicis Groupe Media. Prior to founding the Denuo Ventures and PGM Ventures practices, Hanlon was Senior Vice President/Director, Emerging Contacts for Starcom MediaVest Group. He was chiefly responsible for all US client activity and agency initiatives in the field of emerging media technologies, including the firm’s ground-breaking TV 2.0 Practice, centered around evolutionary television platforms such as interactive/enhanced television, on-demand video, digital video recording, interactive program guide navigation, addressable advertising, and digital broadcasting/datacasting. Hanlon has over 20 years of traditional and interactive agency media experience across the intersection of marketing, media, advertising, and technology, including roles as Vice President/Director, Strategy & Business Development for the Digital Marketing Group of Chicago-based marketing services agency Frankel, and Director of Interactive Media at Creative Alliance in Louisville, KY. He also served as the Advertising Media Manager for the in-house agency of credit card issuer MBNA America in Wilmington, DE, USA. Hanlon also has wide-ranging journalism experience, including production and writing stints at CBS News, Sports Illustrated, trade publication Radio & Records, and the Voice of America. Among numerous advertising and television industry activities, Hanlon has been Chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) Advanced Television Committee, a founding member of the Steering Committee of the Innovation in Digital Advertising (IDiA) Consortium, and a founding member of the National Academy of Media Arts & Sciences (NAMAS). In 2004, he was an inaugural recipient of Interactive Television Today’s Leadership in Interactive Television Award, and has been twice named to MEDIA Magazine’s “Media 100” list. His insights into the future of media and advertising are regularly seen in major electronic, print and trade press outlets. Hanlon holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business, and a BA from Georgetown University.
