Darcy Frisch is Vice President of Strategic Investments at Hearst Interactive Media, a position she has held since March 2000. She identifies, executes and oversees the corporation's investments in interactive media businesses. Since joining Hearst, Frisch has advanced investments in Circles, drugstore.com, XM Satellite Radio, The NewsMarket, MobiTV, Sphere, Spire and Voxpop. Prior to Hearst, Frisch was with the investment group E2Enet, and before that she was VP of Corporate development at Building One Services, a national building services company. She also held positions as a tax analyst at KPMG and as the legislative assistant for tax for U.S. Senator David Boren of Oklahoma. Frisch graduated from Yale University with a BA in Political Science and earned her MBA at the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business.












Jeanne M. Sullivan, General Partner, StarVest Partners, L.P: Jeanne has 20 years of private equity experience and has spent 28 years in the technology sector encompassing both extensive operating and investing experience with technology companies. Over the past 20 years as a founding principal of StarVest and previously with Olivetti Ventures, Ms. Sullivan has served on the boards of sixteen private and two public companies and has extensive experience creating “go to market” plans for expansion stage companies. Her expertise also includes strategy, an understanding of the technology landscape and industry trends. From 1981 to 1990, Ms. Sullivan was with AT&T, serving in a variety of product management and business-to-business marketing roles, and was the Product Director for a Bell Laboratories internal venture business unit. The product, a high-end parallel processor with graphics and scientific imaging libraries. Her prior experience in marketing and advertising with Bozell Worldwide (1971–1978) gave Ms. Sullivan the business foundation for creating and developing marketing programs and plans for many businesses. Ms. Sullivan holds a BS from the University of Illinois and a JD from Creighton University School of Law. She was part of the founding group for the New York New Media Association Angel Investors Program, one of the first Angel groups in NYC and this is the predecessor to the current New York Angels. She is active with the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC), a nonprofit New York City-based organization that lobbies for environmental reform, and established the New York area Environmental Entrepreneurs group comprised of business and technology leaders. She serves on the board of the New York Venture Capital Association (NYVCA) and has a passion for supporting and mentoring rising stars as entrepreneurs and investors and is a member of the Astia Board of Trustees. Astia is a global not for profit committed to the success of women high-growth entrepreneurs.  She is also active with Springboard, Women in Mobile (WIM), Womensphere,  The Pipeline Fund, Golden Seeds and Women 2.0.  Jeanne is a sought-after industry speaker on the subject of investing in and building technology companies and has served as an adjunct professor of marketing at the graduate level. Additional passions include golf, baseball, hiking and travel.

Rudina Seseri, Partner, Fairhaven Capital: Rudina serves as a Partner at Fairha
ven Capital, which she joined at its inception in 2007. She has invested in and served on the boards of CrowdTwist and FashionPlaytes. Previously, Rudina was a Senior Manager in the Corporate Development Group at Microsoft Corporation. In this position, she was responsible for sourcing, structuring, and negotiating Microsoft's acquisitions and strategic investments including acquisitions such as iView Multimedia, DeepMetrix, and Lionhead Studios. Prior to Microsoft, Rudina worked as an investment banker in the Technology Group at Credit Suisse. She executed transactions in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. Rudina graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College with a BA in Economics and International Relations, and received her MBA from The Harvard Business School. She has been elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies. Rudina Seseri serves on the Advisory Board of L'Oreal's Women in Digital. She is also a 2011 Boston Business Journal 40-under-40 honoree for her professional accomplishments and community involvement.







Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Directo
r, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.



Peg Jackson, Managing Director at Gridley and Co: Peg brings over 15 years of experience working
in the venture capital industry and operational expertise with early stage technology companies. She was a Managing Partner in Cava Capital where investments include LocalResponse. Prior to that Peg was with Neocarta Ventures as a Managing Director investing in the technology sector and managing the portfolio. Investments include SilverPop, Zoom Systems, Cendura (acquired by Computer Associates), Datasynapse (acquired by Tibco) and Myrio (acquired by Siemens). Prior to joining NeoCarta, Peg was Vice-President of Business Development at NBC. She joined NBC in 1996, making investments in Internet and communication companies. Investments include Tivo (TIVO) and LivePerson (LPSN). Prior to NBC, Peg worked in the business development group at Reuters New Media, where she managed new acquisition and joint venture projects. Peg received a BA in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from New York University.






Melissa Thompson is currently the CEO of co-founder of TalkSession, Inc., an online counseling platform in beta mode that connects users with highly credible professionals for mobile therapy and counseling sessions utilizing proprietary algorithm matching and artificial intelligence. Melissa's yen for entrepreneurship was hard felt after exiting the largely male dominated world of finance, where she traded emerging market and commodity derivatives for Goldman Sachs for nearly four years. Her technology career began when Melissa assumed the position of director of business development for Intercast Network, a rich-media interactive platform with a patent-pending technology that allows brands to deliver live content and utilize real-time demographic and psychographic analytics to increase brand engagement and user interaction. Her clients included The Weinstein Company, Top Rank Boxing, and various political organizations. She was then named Technology Editor of SCENE magazine, the recently announced publication of The New York Observer. Melissa has helped numerous companies in their digital media and technology campaigns including the United Nations, Chanel, Forbes Magazine, Jetsetter, Publicis, the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, and the New York Stock Exchange. TalkSession, Melissa has cultivated a highly impressive Advisory Board, including top mental health physicians at Columbia University, Harvard Medical School, an award-winning epidemiologist, and a Nobel Laureate. Melissa holds a BA from Barnard College in Economics and studied Chinese and global business strategy at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China. She earned her MBA from Columbia Business School, with a focus on new media, management, and entrepreneurship.
