Mara Winokur, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Business Development and Strategy, Starz Media: Mara Winokur is the lead executive for Starz Digital Media, overseeing the strategy, operation and execution of the digital businesses and initiatives supporting Starz' various film, television and digital-only content properties. Winokur and her team manage digital distribution, licensing, syndication, content and vendor relationships across a wide array of partners and distributors ranging from traditional cable/satellite/telco multichannel video affiliates to internet/mobile distributors to game and social media developers/publishers to consumer electronics companies. The video content Starz Digital Media distributes and markets ranges from theatrical features to short-form animation from each of Starz' various business units including: Starz Entertainment (pay television), Anchor Bay Entertainment (home entertainment), Manga Entertainment (Japanese Anime) and Film Roman (animation). In addition to Winokur's business development responsibilities, she also handles operational activities for the Starz Media digital team, including coordinating release schedules, managing content delivery, adjusting pricing and tracking and reporting financial results Winokur served previously as vice president, digital media and business development. Prior to joining Starz Media, Winokur was the Senior Director of Digital Business Development at EMI Music Entertainment. In this role, Winokur led the team responsible for evaluating business proposals; structuring and negotiating deal terms; and executing agreements in the online and mobile spaces. She also analyzed developing digital trends and advised on new product strategies and business models. Before her position at EMI, Winokur was a Director of New Technology Business Development at Sony BMG Entertainment, coordinating new media deals across territories and guiding regional sales and marketing teams in assessing business development opportunities. In addition, Winokur assisted in analyzing new technology solutions such as anti-piracy, watermarking, and digital formatting. Winokur has also worked in New Media Strategy at The McGraw-Hill Companies, Strategic Alliances at Palm, Inc., and has consulted with several Silicon Valley companies. Winokur received her MBA with honors in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business and her BA in Communications and Psychology from Stanford University.

Lindsay Orosz is an attorney in the New Media, Entertainment and Technology practice at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, where she provides strategic counsel and transactional support to clients in a wide range of industries (including, entertainment, media, sports, music, retail and consumer products/services, fashion and luxury brands) in connection with a variety of legal, policy and business issues arising out of the convergence of entertainment, media, marketing, advertising and technology. She represents clients in matters that include, among others, content production, licensing and distribution arrangements and related audio-visual broadcasting and second screen initiatives on new media platforms and devices, as well as application and technology development, licensing and distribution and related marketing, advertising, social media and promotional programs and initiatives. Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Lindsay worked in the business and legal affairs departments of both The Madison Square Garden Company, supporting MSG's media properties including Fuse Networks, MSG and MSG+, and MTV Networks, as part of its Global Digital and New Media team.





Deidre Smalls-Landau, Managing Partner, Identity: Deidre is a versatile leader with 15+ years of
marketing experience working at creative agencies and recently rounding out her background by entering the media world. Throughout her career, she has managed multi-disciplined teams and led integrated, global campaigns that delivered breakthrough results for new products and brands like Kraft/Nabisco, CoverGirl, Pantene, Clairol, Gillette and L’Oreal. Deidre joined IPG Mediabrands’ multicultural venture, Identity in November 2011, with an eye toward redefining what it means to be a multicultural media agency and driving the value proposition of her consumer targets. Prior to Identity, Deidre worked as an account girl across several global ad agencies, including Grey, Publicis and DraftFcb as well as multicultural agencies, UniWorld and Footsteps (an Omnicom company). This varied background has given her a truly global and informed perspective on different targets and mindsets. As a marketer, she is respected for bringing clarity to marketing challenges and inspiring teams to build the business. Deidre has been the recipient of two industry awards: Essence Magazine -- Women At The Top of Their Game (2002); Ebony -- Outstanding Women in Marketing and Communications (2003). In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, volunteers for food justice organizations and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Anjula Acharia Bath, CEO and Founder, Desi Hits Inc: Anjula Acharia Bath is the face of Desi Hits! a
n innovative multi-platform media company that is undoubtedly creating a cultural shift in the digital field and pop culture worldwide. Steering the company to global influence, Anjula creates and executes deals with US Major labels such as Universal, Warner and Sony, and South Asian/Bollywood film studios. Anjula’s pioneering efforts have led the company to some of the biggest names in music, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Britney Spears and Sonu Niiggam and AR Rahman have all been featured on their web property DesiHits.com and she has helped break many of these artists in new and emerging markets. Most recently, Anjula partnered with Universal Music Group to create the first music label to nurture and develop global pop icons from South Asia and the large Diaspora, this made news headlines from New York to Mumbai. Anjula has received global press, radio and television recognition for her achievements. She’s been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, NY Times, VOGUE, BusinessWeek, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Variety, WWD, on BBC and NPR, and Fox. She speaks regularly at media conferences and was a guest speaker at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Music, Columbia University, Chicago Booth Business School, she was also one of the keynote speakers for the Digital Music Forum in NYC. In addition, Anjula served as a judge for the “Music Video Award” at The Ibiza International Film Festival as well as for the ‘UK Asian Music Awards’ and holds many media industry awards. Anjula was named as one of the ‘2010 Game Changers’ by The NY Enterprise Report and made it on to Vanity Fair’s “Next Establishment” list. Prior to Desi Hits! Anjula was leading strategy and delivery for emerging technologies practice at the Forsyth Group – Venture Search, California. She co-founded the Media and Entertainment search firm Merchant McKenzie where she placed C-level executives for companies such as Walt Disney Internet Group and Universal Pictures International. As a Director at TMP Worldwide, London, Anjula worked strategically with the CEO and Board to develop and guide direction for their online property Monster.com. Committed to the arts and media, she holds a B.A. with Honors in Theatre Arts and Communications from Middlesex University and is a published writer. Anjula just completed her first fiction novel that is a fun, provocative journey of two women and explores the second generation South Asian experience.

Leslie Laredo, President, The Laredo Group, Inc.: Leslie Laredo is an interactive and Internet
advertising pioneer with 30 years in the online and interactive industry, starting in videotex advertising in 1982. She has been instrumental in changing the face of the interactive media business and dramatically improving the knowledge and skills of media professionals on how to buy and sell interactive media. Leslie has trained and consulted with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, small to large advertising agencies and multi-brand media publishers. Her training and consulting services have been used and valued by C-level executives, vice presidents, sales and account managers, and media buyers and planners. She has worked with CPG and B2B brand and marketing managers spanning many industries including automotive, travel, financial, pharmaceutical and many others to educate their teams on how to plan, buy and sell digital media. Leslie’s insights and training have allowed sales organizations to more efficiently meet the needs of their advertisers while maximizing revenues. She has also worked with agencies of all sizes to be more effective in delivering online media strategies as well transitioning their businesses to provide the thought leadership and digital media and marketing skills increasing required to keep and acquire clients. In 1983, Ms. Laredo started her interactive career selling advertising on a local public access videotex system. Starting in 1986, she spent six years selling advertising for Prodigy and then 4 years setting up advertising strategies and programs for Ziff-Davis Interactive, Interchange Online Network, and AT&T Business Network. In 1996, Leslie co-founded one of the first Internet advertising rep firms, Network 1.0 which was acquired by Softbank in June 1996. That year, she also helped launch the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), the standard-setting industry trade association, and founded The Laredo Group, which became and has remained leading company worldwide for interactive and integrated media sales, planning & buying training and consulting. She is a frequent speaker at many media and interactive/Internet industry conferences, and has published a number of insightful articles over the years. Leslie is also actively involved with the entertainment industry organization The Friars Club, and is an active board member of Breastcancer.org, co-hosting a fund-raising February bowlathon for the media industry of New York that has raised $1.4million for Breastcancer.org over the last 3 years. Leslie holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University and studied International Management at the University of Texas.
