The combination of TV, set-top, broadband connection and a host of new CE devices and services is breaking down the barriers of the TV viewing experience - it is called Over-the-Top TV. Broadcasting and cable will never be the same. The idea that consumers might use a TV, demanding personal and enhanced video services, as they do a computer has arrived. All video content, all the time to the consumer is now becoming a reality.

Dr. Alan Messer is a Member of the DLNA Board of Directors and Senior Director of the Convergence Technologies and Standards with Samsung Electronics' Silicon Valley R&D Center. He leads both US research into next generation consumer electronics software technologies and Samsung's US convergence standardization activities. In this role, Messer has been a worldwide leader in connected TV, home networking and IP service technologies for consumer devices. Messer has been with Samsung for 7+ years, before which he has worked at a variety of consumer electronics companies including HP and Sony Electronics. Messer has participated in various standardization organizations and is the President and Chairman of the UPNP's Forum as well as holding Samsung's position on the DLNA Board of Directors.

Eric Shih, Director of Business Development, Digital business unit, Scripps Networks: Eri
c Shih is Director of Business Development for Scripps Networks in the Digital business unit. Based in New York City, Shih focuses on developing strategic online partnerships for Scripps, a leading developer of lifestyle content for cable television and the Internet comprising HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel and Great American Country (GAC). Shih has played a key role in extending the brands and syndicating Scripps video programming and other content to online and new platforms including consumer electronics devices. Prior to joining Scripps, Shih led digital media business development and strategy efforts at A&E Television Networks, comprising cable TV brands A&E, History, Lifetime and Bio, among others. Shih has also held business development positions at Fuse Networks, a music television network, and Flarion Technologies, a wireless broadband technology company acquired by Qualcomm. Shih holds an M.A. in music business from New York University and a B.A. in both economics and psychology from Georgetown University.






Nick Colsey, Vice President, Network Promotion, Sony Electronics Inc., Consumer of America: A
veteran of Sony Electronics for 20 years, Mr. Colsey is an integral member of the team responsible for Sony’s successful BRAVIA Internet Video platform and other network service initiatives. In this capacity, he works with multiple Sony product categories to bring the connected experience to consumers worldwide.




Barry Hartman, Senior Product Manager, Content Protection Adobe Systems: B
arry Hartman drives product strategy for content protection, including product roadmap and execution. In this position, Barry works closely with strategic partners - including studios, broadcasters, service providers, and device manufacturers to develop a content protection ecosystem for the monetization of premium content. Prior to Adobe, Barry was the Director of Product Management for IPTV at Verimatrix, a leader in conditional access solutions for software-based pay TV services. Barry was also Director of Product Management for the Television Platform Operation within Intel Capital, focused on opportunities in next generation of Television and digital media devices.













Mariana Danilovic, Managing Director, Hollywood Portfolio: Ms. Danilovic is the Founder and Managing Director of Hollywood Portfolio, a developer, owner and operator of transmedia companies. Through Hollywood Portfolio, Ms. Danilovic launched and helped develop several transmedia companies and serves as the President and CEO and on the Board of Directors of ultralivetv, on the Board of Directors of griddeo, reframeIt (observer), and on the Advisory Board of alphabird. Ms. Danilovic was the EVP Business Development for transmedia entertainment company NTN Buzztime, Inc. (AMEX:NTN) and VP Business Development, Content Aggregation and Programming for MediaZone, broadband video company owned by NASPERS media conglomerate. She also founded and directed the Digital Media Incubator at KPMG LLP, which developed about two dozen digital media companies. The companies Ms. Danilovic helped develop received institutional funding from KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Hummer-Winblad, Constellation Partners, Softbank, North Star Ventures, HP, and Intel. Prior to joining KPMG, Ms. Danilovic headed business development for Peter Guber's Mandalay Entertainment and served on the management team of the venture fund at Sony Pictures Entertainment investing in media companies worldwide. Ms. Danilovic also worked for Michael Milken's Knowledge Exchange and at the Twentieth Century Fox International Television Group. She serves on the New Media Council of the Producers' Guild of America and is a member of ATAS. She previously served on the Board of Directors of Tim Draper's Zone Club and was a member of former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan's Digital Coast Roundtable. Mariana earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from University of California, San Diego.

Kris Alexander is the Chief Strategist focused on Connected Devices and Gaming at Akamai Technologies Inc. He is currently responsible for Akamai's strategy for connected consumer electronics, and gaming and interactive entertainment software. Kris joined Akamai in 1994 as the Senior Product Manager who created and launched the Akamai Media Delivery Solution. He advanced to become Product Line Director, where he developed multiple strategies and managed many teams to successfully launch many new solutions and products including the Akamai HD Network with HD for Flash, HD for iPhone/iPad, HD for Silverlight, and Media Analytics, and Akamai Electronic Software Delivery Solution. He worked closely with many businesses over the years as partners and customers of Akamai, including Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nokia, Blizzard, EA, Viacom, and Fox. Prior to Akamai, Kris held several positions with Genuity (formerly BBN Networks) including Director of Marketing and Strategy and Product Manager. He also worked as an independent Marketing and Business Consultant focused on business strategy and products across of range of businesses including Parker Guitars, Turbine Games, WarCry Network, NaviSite, and Lahey Clinic. In 1999, he founded an independent record label, Empire Underwater Records in Boston which promoted and released music of local artists nationally. Kris has spoken at multiple industry conferences such as CES, E3, GDC, Cebit, and Digital Hollywood, on topics such as Interactive Entertainment, Gaming, Digital Media, and Connected Devices. He holds a BSE in Computer Engineering and BSBA in Marketing from Northeastern University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.
