Adi Berenson, VP Business Development, PrimeSense: When A di isn't overseeing biz dev, you'll probably find him at the beach. Before joining PrimeSense, Adi served as International Marketing and Business Development Manager for the Mobile Multimedia Sector at Philips Semiconductors. He oversaw product strategies and business plans, and all commercial and business creation activities. As the former CTO of Veon, Inc., a pioneer in interactive video technologies that was acquired by Philips in 2002, Adi's involvement in cool technology goes back a while.
Ted Theocheung, Vice President of PC and Digital Home Ecosystem of Synaptics: Ted oversees a ll PC notebook and digital home consumer electronics touch solutions including slates, remote controls, digital photo frames, and ecosystem alliances and business development. One of his groups newest gesture technologies for TouchPads, Scrybe, is a next generation technology that enables users to complete entire tasks all through touch. A veteran entrepreneur, Ted was Vice President of Marketing for several startups including Mirra, a digital media solution acquired by Seagate, Digital Media analyst at TDG, and venture investor with Sand Hill Angels. Ted has more than fifteen years of experience in executive roles in strategy, corporate development and alliances and business unit responsibility at Hewlett-Packard for consumer and corporate PCs, internet, handheld devices, software, and printers. Ted received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and also attended Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Hany Nada, General Partner, GGV Capital: Hany Nada is a co-founder of GGV Capital and led the firms successful investments in athenahealth (NASDAQ: ATHN), Glu Mobile (NASDAQ: GLUU), Kintana (acquired by Mercury Interactive) and Xfire (acquired by Viacom). He works with public and private companies across the portfolio assisting with business development and global market strategy. He is active with investments in interactive and online technologies such as consumer software, mobile, Internet software and gaming, and social networking. Currently, Hany serves on the Board of Directors of Vocera Communications, Tudou and three gaming companies, Glu Mobile, Turbine and Wild Tangent. Before entering the venture capital business, Hany spent ten years on Wall Street as a top-ranked research analyst at Piper Jaffray focusing on Internet software and e-infrastructure. He was recognized as a Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst and Institutional Investor All-Star in three categories. His research coverage included such companies as Adobe, Yahoo, and Vignette, and he was the lead analyst on a broad range of tech IPOs. Hany is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he earned a B.S. in economics and a B.A. in political science.
Kevin Brennan, Director, Product Marketing, E-Media, Dolby Labs: Kevin Brennan is Director, Product Marketing, E-Media. Kevin is responsible for Dolby's product marketing strategy for PC, tablets and mobile devices. Kevin brings over a decade of experience in product management and product marketing in established and emerging markets. Previously, Kevin worked in semiconductor product marketing in Silicon Valley with Applied Micro and Cypress Semiconductor. Kevin earned a bachelor of electronic engineering degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Chris Ullrich, Vice President, User Experience, Immersion: Chris Ullrich is respo nsible for ensuring that haptic products and technologies designed and developed at Immersion are highly valued by users, developers and OEM customers. Since joining Immersion in 2000, Mr. Ullrich has worked across departments to innovate, develop and bring to market a variety of technologies. He also directed software research and development in 3D, directed the medical simulation engineering team and led the design and development of next generation surgical instruments. Prior to working at Immersion, he held several research and engineering roles at Virtual Technologies Inc. and Telesat Canada. He holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of British Columbia and a B.Math from the University of Waterloo.
Christophe Ponsarte, Director, Information, Media & Entertainment Mobility Practice, Cognizant Business Consulting: Christophe Ponsart is a Director in Cognizant Business Consulting's Information, Media & Entertainment Mobility Practice. Christophe has spent more than 10 years advising the world's leading film studios, television networks, technology and packaged goods companies on digital strategies. Having led several large enterprise implementation and development projects, Christophe brings an innovative and practical perspective to help clients succeed with both strategy and execution. With experience ranging from Digital Supply Chain management, Digital Asset Management, Enterprise Metadata Management,and Rights Management, Christophe is currently working with enterprises to define next-generation mobile solutions for enterprise and consumer use. Christophe currently leads Cognizant's Mobility practice within the Information, Media and Entertainment industries and continues to provide guidance and leadership to Cognizant's Digital Initiatives. Christophe holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines.
Mark J. Kapczynski, Chief Operating Officer, Kontrol Media: Mark Kapczynski has a successful tr ack record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
