Chris Carvalho, Chief Operating Officer, Kabam: Chris Carvalho is Kabam's (formerly Watercooler) COO overseaing business development, marketing, and finance. Before joining the company, Chris was the GM of SmartyCard, winning the People's Choice Award at DEMO 09, and spent a decade heading up Lucasfilm's business development efforts and driving the company's digital media strategy and partnerships. While at Lucasfilm, Chris also ran Lucas Online, the division responsible for publishing StarWars.com. Prior to Lucasfilm, Chris consulted with a range of companies, from startups to the Fortune 500 as a management consultant with Deloitte & Touche. Chris is a graduate of UCLA's Anderson School of Management and completed undergrad studies at UC Berkeley.
Dilip Venkatachari, CEO and co-founder, Compass Labs: Previously, Dilip led Googles mobile monetization business and had responsibility for all of PayPals risk and fraud management, card and bank processing relationships, and regulatory compliance. Dilip is a successful serial entrepreneur who has co-founded and led two successful start-up companies CashEdge and CommerceSoft after stints at McKinsey and Goldman Sachs. Dilip has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, M.S. in electrical engineering from Rice University, and a B.Tech in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Mike Doernberg, Chief Executive Officer, ReverbNation: Michael Doernberg is the Chief Executive Officer for this music marketing platform serving more than one million artists, managers, record labels and venues. Every day, musicians turn to ReverbNation as a source for the powerful business tools needed to compete in the social media age, across the Internet as a whole, while other music industry participants work with ReverbNation to align themselves with the largest aggregation of independent artists. As CEO, Doernberg's strategic thinking and exceptional business acumen has contributed to ReverbNation's success and helped drive the development of their valuable social tools for the industry. Doernberg is a serial entrepreneur from the Triangle area of North Carolina with a tremendous amount of experience in marketing and management of technology and Internet business. His past ventures include SmartPath, a marketing software company, and Marathon Partners, an Internet services organization. At Marathon he transitioned the organization from a marketing and communication services firm to an Internet professional services company. Doernberg also worked as Vice President and General Manager of MERANT's Interactive Division, where his team extended the business into international markets.
Lisa Marino is the Chief Executive Officer for RockYou, overseeing all business functions and leading all brand and ad sales initiatives for the company. Prior to this role she served as RockYou's Vice President of sales where she created and led a team which generated more than $6 million during its first year. Prior to joining the RockYou executive team, Lisa was the National Sales Manager for eBay Motors, calling on major automotive original equipment manufacturers as well as their franchise dealers. Lisa co-founded Cima Systems, a leading provider of automatic customer-interaction technology to the automotive industry. She began her career in Silicon Valley as a technology mergers and acquisitions investment banker for Montgomery Securities. Lisa is a thought leader in social media marketing and has spoken at leading conferences and events including, OMMA, iMedia Summits, CES and Digital Hollywood. She holds a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University's School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike Vorhaus, President, Magid Advisors: Founded the Magid Internet and New Media research and consultation practice in 1995, with AOL and Excite as his first two clients. Mikes team has completed over 2,500 engagements with over 100 Internet clients. Mike began the Magid Gaming Practice in 2001 with EA and Sony Online as his first two clients. The Magid Game Practice now works with most of the major game publishers. Mike provides research and consulting services to a number of major traditional media companies in regard to their new media initiatives, as well as consulting a number of leading Internet and gaming companies. He has also provided advice to venture capital and private equity firms in regard to investments in the media space. Mike has been involved in strategic and tactical consulting, including the launch of new services and programming, as well as development and implementation of online and offline marketing programs. Mike has also been extensively involved in video and PC gaming strategies for a number of our companies, as well as the development of game concepts. Mike has consulted on a number of film projects such as Youve Got Mail and The Matrix. He holds a B.S. in psychology and sociology from Wesleyan University and has worked as a fundraiser and transfer of technology officer at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California. Mike also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, The U.S. Senate, and for two Administrations in the White House.
