As the entertainment industry enters its next, albeit yet to be determined, phase of production and distribution - where digital technologies take a stronger and more significant role - the basic relationship among power players is likely to take new and unique forms. For the sake of discussion, we might call this the New Hollywood Equation, where content owners, talent, talent agents and the new distribution channels all stake out new territory and attempt to find new formula for dealing with the next generation of Hollywood. In this session, we bring together some of the best informed creative executives in the field.

Dave Martin, SVP, Media, ignited: As SVP of Media at Ignited, Dave leads a large team of digital media professionals, and oversees digital media planning/buying for Universal Pictures, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, NBC, Bravo, Oxygen, Syfy, USA, MSNBC and Princess Cruises. Under his oversight, his team has worked with clients to innovate the digital space with effective, efficient online, new media and mobile campaigns. Since 2000, Dave has worked with clients across multiple categories to translate marketing initiatives into interactive solutions. Dave is a digital media thought-leader, whose expertise spans from direct response and lead generation to brand building and other attitudinal objectives. Dave and his team contributed to highest grossing box office year ever for Universal Pictures in 2008, including one of the biggest hits of the year, Mamma Mia. He began his career in traditional media for toy manufacturers in the early 1990s. Dave is a former professional musician, current amateur photographer and enjoys movies and first-person shooters.

EVP/Experience Architect, Universal McCann: Mike Siegenthaler recently joined the global team after launching the North America Custom division over a year ago. In this new role, Mike will be charged with helping UM's clients conceive and execute on large-scale, breakthrough programs that run the gamut from branded entertainment series to highly integrated, custom sponsorship packages. Michael brings a unique background in media and a deep understanding of the entertainment world. He knows that in order to make a lasting impression with an audience, you must collaborate with media agencies and brands to develop the most impactful creative concept. Michael's background in connecting the correct brand with the best-suited media outlet makes him a vital member of the UM team. One of UM's main objectives is to develop new approaches to media owner partnerships, and Michael is charged with leading this vision, tapping into his creative background to comprehend a variety of audiences. Michael joined UM in early 2010 as the EVP, Media Owner Relations (MOR) for North America. In this newly created team, Michael develops rich programs based on engaging media owners in a new, more collaborative partnership. Michael is also responsible for fostering ideas that revolve around brand integration to better connect with the intended audience. Before UM, Michael worked with the Branded Entertainment & Experience Team (BEET), an experience that refined his ability to captivate targets and lead them to fall in love with brands. BEET is a highly coveted team within Microsoft that primarily focuses on strategy, ideation, and editorial to bring original and meaningful experiences to Microsoft audiences. Recently, BEET's work included Home Sweet Home with Wal-Mart, Business on Main with Sprint, and In the Motherhood, where Michael worked alongside Mindshare for blue chip clients Suave and Sprint. Prior to BEET, Michael gained a wide range of experience as a Media Planner for JWT and Media Sales at the Chicago Tribune. He also led several teams responsible for MSN trade marketing efforts both internally as well as externally.

Douglas De Luca, Co-Executive Producer, "Jimmy Kimmel Live'': Douglas De Luca is a season
ed producer with an extremely diverse background that encompasses over eighteen years of experience producing: feature films, TV series and specials, commercials, music videos, theater, and a wide variety of live events around the world. Currently, Mr. De Luca is co-executive producer for ABC's high profile, late-night vehicle, ``Jimmy Kimmel Live'' (now in its eighth season). Since September 2002, Douglas has worked behind the scenes to develop a diverse and broad base of strategic relationships, which have successfully helped generate revenue while providing previously untapped resources and events to the show. Just prior to Kimmel's current late-night vehicle, (1998-2002) Mr. De Luca co-executive produced the first four seasons of Comedy Central's original sketch comedy series, ``The Man Show,'' which starred Kimmel and Adam Corolla. In 2000, De Luca helped launch ABC's groundbreaking, hit, reality show, ``The Mole.'' Concurrently in 2006 - 2008, Douglas created a sports and entertainment company called ProElite that focused on the fast-growing sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Mr. De Luca served as CEO of this public company and during his tenure negotiated and closed deals with Showtime Networks, CBS Television, Mark Burnett Productions, IMG, Fox Sports Net among a variety of other partners all over the globe. During this time, he took the company from an idea to the only Mixed Martial Arts organization to be broadcast live on network television in primetime. His television credits include four years of producing NBC's top-rated annual special, ``The World's Greatest Magic,'' ``The Walt Disney World Christmas Parade,'' the ``Universoul Circus,'' (1998), for HBO, based on the only African-American owned and operated circus in the world. From 1998 to 2002, while maintaining his executive producing responsibilities, Mr. De Luca also produced the ``Circus'' road tour in over 40 cities around the country. Douglas' credits producing music performances include Disney's weekly series, ``Two Hour Tour,'' with acts such as Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, and 98 Degrees. The well-rounded Mr. De Luca's credits also include numerous documentaries for A&E, The Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. In 1998, Mr. De Luca successfully created a world class sports franchise out of the loosely organized sport of ``Freestyle Motocross'' when he innovatively formed a touring group of specialist to perform at arena sized venues around the country. Mr. De Luca is the Founder and Chairman of the non-profit San Gennaro Foundation through which his passion for good works and his Italian heritage have helped him shape an extremely successful charity event, quickly becoming a favored attraction for Los Angeles in just four years: The Feast of San Gennaro-L.A.

Mark J. Kapczynski,
Chief Operating Officer, Kontrol Media: Mark Kapczynski has a su
ccessful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
