James Marsh is a managing director and senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray, following entertainment, radio and television broadcasting, outdoor advertising, and publishing companies. Before joining Piper Jaffray, Marsh co-founded Hanover Square Capital Management, LLC., a hedge fund focused on the consumer and media sectors. Prior to that, he covered the radio and television broadcasting, publishing and outdoor advertising sectors at Cowen & Co., Robertson Stephens and Prudential Securities. In 2004, Marsh ranked third in stock picking for the broadcasting and entertainment sector in The Wall Street Journal's Best on the Street analyst survey, also ranking in the survey for forecasting in 2001, for broadcasting in 2003 and for publishing in 2000. Marsh has a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and international business from New York University and a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from John Carroll University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Andrew J. Howard, Partner, Shamrock Capital Advisors Partner: Andy is a Shamrock Cap ital Advisors Partner and has over 13 years of media, entertainment, and communications investment experience. Andy currently serves as a director of Screenvision, K2 Towers, and Publishing Group of America and is an Observer on the board of Thought Equity Motion. Previously, he served on the boards of directors of RealD, Naylor Publications, PrimeCo Wireless, Liberation Entertainment, and BASE Entertainment and was a board observer of MetroPCS and OpNext. Andy is on the Board of Governor's for the USC Annenberg School - Center for the Digital Future and was a board member of the Association of Corporate Growth - Los Angeles. He is also a in-active member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television & Radio Association. Prior to joining Shamrock in 2006, Andy was a Vice President at Clarity Partners, a media and communications focused private equity fund, where he also assumed the position of Acting President and Director of Sales of Clarity portfolio company, PrimeCo Wireless. Andy graduated from Stanford University.
David J. Enzer is a Managing Director at ROTH Capital Partners, LLC (RCP) and manages the firm's efforts in Technology financings and M&A's in the Software, Communications, Digital Media and Convergence sectors. He has completed over $2B in transactions over his career. Prior to joining ROTH in November 2003, Mr. Enzer was a Senior Managing Director and led the Technology Investment Banking effort at EVEREN Securities, the nation's 10th largest securities firm until their acquisition by Wachovia Securities (fka First Union). While at EVEREN, he also was a member of their private equity advisory committee. Mr. Enzer graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley Undergraduate Business School in 1982 with an emphasis in Accounting and Real Estate and was a Phi Beta Kappa and a Beta Gamma Sigma, and graduated cum laude from Hastings College of Law in 1986 with an emphasis in Corporate Taxation.
James C. Goss is a vice president and senior research analyst with Barrington Research Associates, Inc. and Barrington Asset Management, Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry, and for the past two decades has focused on media and entertainment industries. Goss is a three-time winner of The Wall Street Journals Best on the Street analyst survey, once in Cable & Broadcasting and once in Entertainment. He is frequently quoted in national news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Barrons, USA TODAY, and others. He also appears on business broadcasts such as CNBC, Bloomberg and Chicagos all news radio station, WBBM-AM. Of all his accomplishments, Goss says he is most proud of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation he holds and his role as past president of the CFA Society of Chicago. The credential is an internationally recognized standard for evaluating the competence and integrity of investment professionals. CFA can be thought of as a measure of an investment professional, and involves intense testing over several years, Goss said. He is still active in the CFA Institute and its local affiliate, the Chicago CFA Society, and also serves on its Leadership Council.
Michael Pachter, Managing Director, Equity Research, Wedbush Securities: Mr. Pachter is an analyst at Wedbush Securities providing coverage of the Entertainment Software, Entertainment Retail and Movies and Entertainment sectors. Previously, Mr. Pachter spent two years as the Director of Research at Wedbush Securities. Before joining Wedbush Securities, Mr. Pachter served as the Director at Management Resource Center, a middle-market investment bank. Prior to that, Mr. Pachter spent 15 years in various financial and management positions at Atlantic Richfield Company, most recently as Director of Strategic Planning. Mr. Pachter brings over 20 years of experience as a finance professional to Wedbush Securities. Mr. Pachter has been recognized as StarMine's Top Earnings Estimator year after year and Best on the Street by the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Pachter holds an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University of California at Los Angeles, a juris doctor from Pepperdine University, an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida, and a bachelor's in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
Marty Shindler is CEO of The Shindler Perspective, a husband & wife consulting practice with Big 4 professional service firm and top 5 business school credentials. The firm consults on business matters in a range of creative & technology businesses, from 3D, visual effects, DVDs and home entertainment options, movie libraries and their valuation to production techniques, specialty formats, and other aspects of the entertainment value chain. The firm has worked all along the entertainment and entertainment technology food chain and as a result, has deep insight into the inner workings of these various industry segments. It has also provided a first-hand sense of the direction in which the industry segments are heading and the challenges and rewards that lie ahead. Marty Shindler also serves as CEO of Oculus3D Corporation, a company bringing eco-friendly, 3D glasses to the market with the intent of reducing the 3D movie and TV industry's reliance on fossil fuel based plastic glasses. His prior employment includes 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm's Industrial Light &Magic, Kodak's Cinesite and Coopers &Lybrand (PriceWaterhouseCoopers).
