Mark Burnett, Creator & Executive Producer: Four time Emmy Award winner Mark B urnett has produced over 1,000 hours of television programming which regularly air in over 70 countries worldwide. His 2011 network series include "The Voice" (NBC), "Survivor" (CBS), "The Celebrity Apprentice" (NBC), "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? (FOX), Shark Tank (ABC) and Expedition Impossible (ABC). Burnett is one of very few producers to have had a renewed series on each of the four major networks. He also has a strong presence in award show franchises, having produced the "MTV Movie Awards" since 2007 and the annual People's Choice Awards since 2010. For the first time in 2011, Burnett is producing the 63rd annual Academy of Television Arts and Sciences "Primetime Emmy Awards." In April of 2011, Burnett and media conglomerate Hearst Corporation announced their new joint media, production and events-based venture which will focus on media content, producing events around that content, and spinning off television shows and other programming based on Hearst brands. Mr. Burnett has been named one of the world's most influential people by TIME Magazine and also TV Guide's most valuable player. He has won BRANDWEEK'S Marketer of the Year Award, The Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award, the PGA Norman Lear Award and the prestigious ROSE D'OR FRAPA Format Award. Burnett was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and was honored in 2010 with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
David Eilenberg, Head of Development & Current Programming, Mark Burnett: David Eilenberg leads the development and current programming for Mark Burnett, one of the preeminent global producers of non-fiction television programming (Survivor, "The Voice," The Apprentice, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? "Shark Tank," The MTV Movie Awards, etc.). Mark Burnett's programming and formats are distributed worldwide, with an overall audience of billions. Prior to his current executive capacity, in which he has served since 2008, Mr. Eilenberg was a producer, writer, and creator for television and film. An M.F.A. graduate of the U.S.C. School of Cinema-Television and a graduate of Harvard University, Mr. Eilenberg was also the co-producer/director of the acclaimed World War II documentary, On Common Ground.
Sadoux Kim, Head of Branded Entertainment, Mark Burnett: Sadoux Kim leads the branded entertainment initiative for programs produced by executive producer, Mark Burnett. With a primary emphasis on "The Apprentice" franchise, he has been a part of the hit show since season one. In his current capacity, Kim negotiates, packages and manages deals with brands and agencies into television, digital and other ancillary platforms for Mark Burnett programs, including NBC's "The Voice," CBS' "People's Choice Awards," and ABC's "Expedition Impossible". Kim is a recognized leader in the branded entertainment community, bridging the gap between advertisers and content makers.
C. Scot Cru, Head of International Distribution & Production, Mark Burnett: C. Scot Cru is responsible for all international business for Mark Burnett. His department distributes finished Mark Burnett shows including such powerhouse and award-winning reality hits as The Apprentice, The Contender, Rockstar, The Casino, Eco-Challenge, Pirate Master, On The Lot, and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?. Cru also negotiates all format agreements on behalf of Mark Burnett; The Apprentice format has been produced in over 25 countries and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? has been produced in over 57 territories around the world. Cru is also charged with expanding the Mark Burnett brand around the world, opening the first international production office, Mark Burnett Productions France, a joint venture with Endemol France and serves as the Executive Producer of international format hits including The Apprentice UK, The Apprentice Ireland, and The Contender Australia among others. Prior to joining Mark Burnett, Cru was the Director of Special Projects at Sony Pictures Television International, where he spearheaded the production efforts of Sony's international channels including the Eco Challenge for AXN. He also produced multi-year coverage of the World Stunt Awards for AXN. Before SPTI, Cru was the Director of Sales for Turner Broadcasting International, where his responsibilities included the cable licensing rights throughout the Caribbean for all the Turner networks including CNN, CNN en Espanol, TNT, The Cartoon Network and CNNFN.
Dean Waters, CEO, VIMBY: Dean Waters is responsible for overseeing VIMBY's (VideoInMyBackYard) vast local-national production infrastructure while producing high quality content for brands, personalities, original series and media outlets. Waters started VIMBY in 2005 and has grown the company into a profitable business. He forged a significant partnership with Mark Burnett, where VIMBY serves as the Mark Burnett Digital Studio. Waters is also responsible for developing national distribution deals with multi-media platforms for VIMBY's clients. Waters has over 20 years of experience creating and executing successful media strategies for regional and national advertisers, and growing companies in the media space locally and nationally.
David Goffin, Chief Creative Officer, VIMBY: David Goffin oversees all creative aspects, storytelling, editing and overall video quality for VIMBY (VideoInMyBackYard). Prior to VIMBY, Goffin was Show Creator and Executive Producer with Mark Burnett Productions. He produced the Emmy award winning adventure race Eco-Challenge and the military special forces reality competition Combat Missions. After that, he was asked by FremantleMedia to supervise the production of the new reality show American Idol in the U.S. Mark Burnett again tapped Goffin to executive produce and co-create Rock Star, that went on to air in over 70 countries worldwide and was the first show with weekly international public voting. Goffin also executive produced Fox's On the Lot with Steven Speilberg and Mark Burnett, and MTV's Rock the Cradle. Goffin has been nominated for three Emmy Awards, two Producer Guild of America Awards, and won a People's Choice Award in 2005 for "American Idol." He has been featured in the New York Times, TV Guide, Variety, and USA Today. He is a regular lecturer on reality television at USC. Goffin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and the Peter Stark Producing Program, part of the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television.
