Daniel Tibbets, Executive Vice President & Studio Chief, GoTV Network: As Executive Vice President and Studio Chief at GoTV Networks, Tibbets brings over 15 years of entertainment programming and producing to GoTV Networks. Tibbets oversees all programming, development and licensing of video content for mobile and broadband, as well as new distribution models. Prior to GoTV, Tibbets held the position of Vice President at Twentieth Television, and ran FOXLAB, Inc. While at Fox, Tibbets developed the first convergence program to air on broadcast television and is credited with the development of the "mobisode" including executive producing the first two original content mobisodes Love and Hate and Sunset Hotel (winner of the Golden Eagle Award for Excellence) which launched on Verizon's VCAST in February 2005. Previously, Tibbets served as Vice President, Entertainment for Fireworks Television, where he developed live-action childrens half-hour series for Nickelodeon and NBC/Discovery Kids including Strange Days at Blake Holsey High. Tibbets was also responsible for the U.S. sale of the eight-hour miniseries Robocop: Prime Directives to the Sci-Fi Channel as well as the two-hour MOW Stolen Miracle to Lifetime. From his work at Papazian-Hirsch/Rysher Entertainment Tibbets is credited with the development and sale of the HBO series ROME and television films A Mothers Testimony and Determination Of Death for Lifetime and Face Value for Court TV. Early in his career Tibbets served as a writer and producer on a number of notable television programs and specials including the Emmy Award winning Streetwise, World Champions of Golf and BuzzTV, and the BBC/PBS mini-series Signs and Wonders starring James Earl Jones. Tibbets has produced and/or contributed to the production and development of other award-winning, made for television series, including: Martha Stewart Living, Bob Vila, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Psi Factor - Chronicles of the Paranormal, News for Kids, The Extremists, George Michaels Sports Machine, Americas Most Wanted, Good Day Live, Divorce Court, and many others. Tibbets has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with an emphasis in International Marketing and business from Arizona State University. Tibbets is on the Board of Advisory for e-card site rattlebox.com.
Josette Bonte, Chief Digital Media Strategist, Cisco IBSG: Bonte is a digital media and filmed entertainment expert. She spent the first 11 years of her career as film and television industry executive in Hollywood and the past 14 years in the fields of telecom, interactive television, broadband content and online games. Josette joins Cisco from Cookie Jar Entertainment, the producers of the acclaimed Kids TV series: Arthur, Caillou, Zaboomafoo, The Doodlebops, etc., where she was the VP of Digital Media. As such, her responsibilities included negotiating distribution agreements with all the new media platforms (telco VOD, IPTV, broadband and mobile) in the domestic and international markets. She previously served as Ovums Vice President of Content and IPTV, working on IPTV deployment strategies with service provider clients like AT&T, France Telecom and BT. Besides her consulting experience while at Ovum and earlier at RHK, Josette has also worked as Chief Content Advisor to the PanAmSat Net 36 Team; where she concentrated on broadband content strategy and customer acquisition. Bonte is also a telco TV pioneer: In 1994, she joined then US West (now Qwest) as Head of Strategic Marketing, Entertainment and Interactive Services, where she participated in the companys early interactive media and VoD trials and soon became the companys Liason with the Hollywood entertainment industry for content strategy. In the eighties, Josette served as Executive Director of Unifrance Film, where she represented the French motion picture and television industries in Hollywood. She subsequently founded EuroScreen Partners, a film production and distribution company capitalized by European cable operators and banks. Josette received an M.F.A from the UCLA School of Film and Television in 1981 and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications and New Media from the Sorbonne in 1996. She is also the author of a best-selling book published by French publisher PUF in 1995 entitled La Television a la Carte aux Etats-Unis.
Marty Roberts, VP, Marketing, thePlatform: Marty Roberts' diverse leadership background includes ten years of product management and marketing. His experience developing strategy, building relationships with development organizations, and creating new products and services helped increase the customer base and profitability for organizations such as GiftCertificates.com and RealNetworks. Since joining thePlatform in 2006, Marty has contributed to the company's success by updating the messaging, redesigning the web site, launching several successful products and increasing the brand awareness through advertising and PR.
Mariana Danilovic, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Director, ultralive.tv: Mariana Danilovics experience spans far and wide when it comes to digital media and global business development ventures. Prior to ultralivetv, Mariana was EVP of Business Development for a cross-platform media company, NTN Buzztime, Inc. (AMEX:NTN) as well as VP of Business Development, Content Aggregation and Programming for Mediazone, the broadband video company owned by the NASPERS/MIH media conglomerate. Mariana also founded and directed the Digital Media Incubator at KPMG LLP, which developed about two dozen digital media companies that received VC funding from KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Hummer-Winblad, Constellation Partners, Softbank, North Star Ventures, HP and Intel. Prior to joining KPMG, Mariana headed business development for Peter Gubers Mandalay Entertainment and was on the management team for the Sony Pictures Entertainment venture fund that invested in media companies worldwide. Mariana also worked with Michael Milkens Knowledge Exchange and at the Twentieth Century Fox International Television Group. She holds an MBA from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and a B.A. in Mathematics from UC San Diego. She serves on the New Media Council of the Producers Guild of America, and is a member of the Television Academy.
Marc Scarpa, CEO, SimplyNew: Marc Scarpa is a pioneer in directing / producing live interactive media events and broadband programming networks. With development of media communities as his focus, he is among the top progressive media architect in the industry. His most recent credits include the Green Apple Festival, which was the largest Green Festival gathering in history. Over eight simultaneous locations throughout the United States, which included a 2-hour program for MySpace, Iclips Network and the Discovery channel. MySpace LIVE! a seven hour live High definition broadcast on the MySpace network that celebrated community through individual expression. The transmission featured recording artists Linkin Park along with 10 additional artists on the Projekt Revolution tour and was watched by over 1 million MySpace members. A ground breaking first, the program incorporated mobile phones used by fans to capture content from a 1st person perspective which were mixed live into the HD broadcast. Ogilvy branded entertainment group and Diversion Media strategic advisory engagements focused on the development of web/mobile based video broadband networks. These engagements included the hiring and management of specialized teams in development, content creations, content syndication, platform analysis and overall site development. Engagement also included creative design, strategic direction, content development, budgeting and identifying technology partnerships. During the last four years he has produced a monthly salon series for the Producers Guild of America sponsored by the New Media Council east of which he is founding chair. The series is captured and distributed online and released as an annual DVD for PGA membership nationwide. This conversation series has featured such prominent speakers as Al Franken (US Senator candidate/Humorist), Kevin Ryan (CEO DoubleClick), Alan Patricof (co-founder Apax Partners), Herb Granath (Chairman Emeritus, ESPN), Jeffrey Dachis (founder Razorfish & current chair PGA NMC), Michael S. Simon, (Chief Strategic Officer, Harry Fox Agency), Eric Wachtmeister (Chairman and Founder, A Small World), Bob Berenson (Vice Chairman and General Manager of Grey Global Group), Chris Wedge (Academy Award winning producer Ice Age) and Peter Becker (President, Criterion Collection) among a few top through leaders in the industry.
Anthony Bontrager, President, 1Cast: A recognized veteran in telecommunications, broadcasting and interactive media, Anthony Bontrager is President of 1cast, Inc., where he is responsible for setting overall strategy and establishing key technology and content partnerships. Prior to 1Cast, Anthony was President and CEO of Broadstream Communications, Inc., a company he co-founded, which became the telecommunications industrys first virtual head-end and middleware platform for IPTV delivery. Under Anthonys leadership, Broadstream was the first company to secure the largest library of IP-content rights from companies such as NBC-Universal, Disney/ABC, ESPN, Starz, Discovery, Fox, Turner Networks and others. Previously, Anthony was General Manager at Fisher Pathways, Inc. (a division of Fisher Communications, Inc.), where he oversaw programming origination and satellite and fiber re-distribution of television and video content for companies such as ESPN, The Portland Trail Blazers, CNN and others. Anthonys telecom career began during the early days of PCS systems deployments and continued with Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. where, as Vice President of Real Estate, he oversaw the acquisition of over 800 million square feet of telecommunications facilities in the United States, London and Scandinavia. Anthony is also the Managing Partner with Axis Partners, LLC a digital media consultancy, and sits on the advisory boards of SATCON and IP Media Expo; and the board of directors of Alexandria Investment Company. Anthony is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Interactive Media Peer Group and Film Group, and is a past member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and World Teleport Association (WTA). Anthony is a sought after speaker on digital media and IPTV and has authored various articles on telecommunications and digital media, which includes being a co-author of Washington States wireless siting policy. Anthony holds a degree in Business Administration and Finance from Seattle University.
Andy Vitus, Principal, Scale Venture Partners: Andy focuses on Scale Venture Partners' investments in next generation enterprise software and new datacenter technologies including virtualization and cloud computing. Additionally, his area of expertise includes innovations in consumer electronics and semiconductors, particularly analog and mixed signal technologies. Andy sits on the boards of Innovion and Astute and has worked closely with Auvitek, Entone, and Picolight. Prior to joining ScaleVP in 2003, Andy worked as a hardware engineer for Electronics for Imaging, designing embedded print server platforms and video compression circuits. Previously, he was a software engineer for De Beers Research Labs, doing research on computer vision for both medical and mining applications. Andy earned an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Marcia Zellers, Media Industry Executive, Moderator: Marcia Zellers has been leading high profile digital initiatives since 1994, when she co-founded MTV Interactive in New York. Now LA based, she specializes in digital strategy, product development, business development and creative for media and entertainment. In 2006, Zellers was listed as #3 on the Hollywood Reporter/Producers Guild Digital 50, a compendium of the most influential and innovative people in digital media. Zellers was a two-year Co-Chair of the Emmy Awards Committee for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group, Chair of the 2005 European Broadcasters Union Conference on Cross-Media Strategies on Marketing, 2004 International Mentor for the Australian XMedia Lab, and is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events. Zellers previously heading up digital media for A&E Television. Prior to that, she ran the American Film Institutes AFI Digital Content Lab, an industry R&D center that pairs design and technology experts with traditional media companies to create innovative digital media properties. From breaking new ground on an early video entertainment portal as the Supervising Producer of Warner Bros. Onlines late-90s Entertaindom, to creating and producing some of the earliest interactive TV programming and live digital events at MTV in the mid-90s, Zellers has a reputation as a pioneer and innovator in the digital media space. Zellers is also a published writer and editor, and has an eclectic background that includes publishing, marketing, advertising, fundraising, and stock brokerage.
