Matt Story, Director, Denuo: There isnt much you wont find out about Matt Story from his frequent Facebook or Twitter updates. His love of sneakers and Kobe Bryant might border on obsessive and his self-professed title as the Mayor of LA and authority on all things Lakers might seem to dominate this Indiana natives interests and credentials, but when it comes to digital marketing and gaming expertise, there are few who do it better. As director, Story oversees the Los Angeles operation of Denuo, a division of Publicis Groupe that helps brands understand and interpret the challenges of modern marketplaces. In this role, he helps maintain key content and gaming industry relationships on behalf of the agency. Story brings to bear a unique blend of media, creative and strategy expertise, as well as keen insights on the videogame marketing arena. As Denuos gaming guru, he has helped clients like T-Mobile and Old Spice build unique gaming programs both in and around popular videogame titles and events. His work in the gaming space has been recognized at high-profile industry awards shows such as MIXX, OMMA and MI6, to name a few. Prior to joining Denuo, Story was Interactive Marketing Manager across the antiperspirants/deodorants category for P&G, where he worked for four years across a variety of disciplines and roles in the same product category. During his tenure, Story managed the creation of the first P&G blog, which supported the launch of Secret Sparkle Body Spray. He also led innovative development with the Old Spice brands in-game integrations in multiple key videogame titles. In 2007, Story was recognized by OMMA magazine as a Rising Star. Story graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where he received two B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Daniele Calabrese, Founder and CEO, soundtrckr: Daniele is the former Communications Officer with the Development Communications Division of the World Bank, where he focused on wireless technology, infrastructure, telecom, energy, public sector reform, and climate change. During his tenure, Daniele initiated the First World Congress on Communication for Development and spearheaded numerous international communications efforts involving the uptake of mobile technologies. He holds an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University and a Political Science degree from Istituto Universitario Orientale in Naples, Italy.
Michael Schade, CEO & Co-Founder of FISHLABS, has been deeply involved with computer graphics, 3D animation, and software development for more than 15 years. With 5 years in 3D mobile gaming and an award-winning portfolio of high-end 3D games distributed globally through mobile operators, Apples App Store and pre-loaded on Nokia and Sony Ericsson handsets, Michael has a profound knowledge of the mobile business. Michael is a well known evangelist for high-end gaming on mobile phones and a seasoned speaker with several lectures at mobile and gaming events all around the globe. Before FISHLABS, he founded one of the leading 3D animation studios in Germany in 1993, together with Christian Lohr, his former colleague from University. They have worked for major companies like Airbus, BMW, IBM, Panasonic, Renault, and Siemens.
Stephen Jackson, President and CEO, Smashing Ideas: Steve joined Smashing Ideas in February 2005 having been active in the new media industry for over 12 years. Prior to joining Smashing Ideas, Steve was President and CEO of Applied Semantics, a Santa Monica, CA-based producer of software applications (AdSense) for the online advertising, domain name and enterprise information management markets. The company realized a half billion unique impressions a month across its domain-name network, with a click-through rate of 50 percent on many of the listings. Applied Semantics was acquired by Google in 2003. Before joining Applied Semantics, Steve served as senior vice president and general manager of iXL, Inc. during which time he created the global Media & Entertainment division, which produced innovative consumer-focused Internet sites and revenue-generating business-to-business online initiatives. Under Steve's direction, the division grew annual revenues from $2.5M to over $15M in under 18 months. iXL went public in 1999 and reached a market capitalization of $3.5 billion with 38 offices globally. An entrepreneur and early Internet provider, Steve was founder and CEO of Spin Cycle Entertainment which he sold to iXL. While overseeing the implementation of numerous Web sites for Spin Cycle clients, Steve directed and produced six TV shows for Universal Studios as well as the Microsoft television special on the launch of Windows 95. Steve's company (a Smashing Ideas client in 1998) was credited with creating Universal's first Java-enabled online game with Jurassic Park, as well as the first utilization of streaming audio for a Waterworld online game over nine years ago.
Jennifer Cooper, Founder and Principal, Rocket Spark Media, Moderator: Jennifer Cooper brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and business development in technology and digital media industries to Mixercast, a widget technology platform company specializing in ad campaigns within social networks. Her work with A-list digital media executives provides her with extensive knowledge of strategic content alliances, distribution and syndication. As CEO of Mixercast, Jennifers creativity and technical expertise builds winning strategies that drive business growth for top CPG products and well-known media brands. Prior to joining Mixercast, Jennifer served as Executive Director of Business Development for Yahoo! Inc., where she designed and launched Yahoo!s first video subscription service and managed large media industry relationships including ABC/Disney, A&E Networks, Paramount, CBS, Time Warner/HBO and CNN. In addition, she was responsible for crafting and implementing broadband video content strategy, sourcing and acquisitions for co-branded portals such as ATT Yahoo! DSL, Verizon Yahoo! DSL, Rogers Yahoo! and BT Yahoo!. In addition to her tenure at Yahoo!, Jennifer led sales, business development and created strategic partnerships for digital media start-up companies including Generic Media and New Zing. She began her career managing sales at enterprise technology companies Oracle, Xerox and IBM before advancing into strategic business development positions at VXtreme Inc. (now the Microsoft Windows media platform) and Microsoft. As founder and executive vice president of nCommand, Inc, Jennifer served on the board of directors and was responsible for securing initial rounds of Venture financing, as well as creating initial client relationships for nCommands products. Jennifer holds a dual B.S. degree in computer science and marketing from San Francisco State University.
