Dave Ulmer, Senior Director, Entertainment Products, Motorola: Dave leads Motorola's Digital Media Services marketing and is responsible for bringing new music, video and entertainment services to Motorola's customers worldwide. Dave is committed to facilitating and growing cooperation amongst the diverse stakeholders to expand the market opportunities for all of its valued stakeholders. Through his past roles as a founding member of SDMI and as a board member of OSTA (Optical Storage Technology Association), Dave has encouraged the acceptance of common standards and consumer awareness.
Renee Plato, Vice President, Digital Video Distribution: The Walt Disney Company and ESPN Media Networks: Renee Plato is vice president, digital video distribution for Disney and ESPN Media Networks. In her position, Plato oversees the growing multiplatform distribution efforts of The Walt Disney Company and ESPN network properties such as ABC, ABC News, Disney Channel, ABC Family, ESPN and ESPN3.com. Ms. Plato is responsible for distribution of the networks through affiliate partner digital channels such as broadband, electronic sell through, ITV, VOD, Over The Top, widgets and other emerging technology platforms whose focus is digital video. Prior to her move to ESPN, Plato was the senior director of business development at Sony BMGs Global Distribution Group in New York. She also served as the Director of Digital and Mobile Business at Universal Music Group in Toronto, Canada.
Dan Schechter, Vice President, L.E.K. Consulting: Dan Schechter collaborates with organizations in communicating and understanding shareholder value principles to improve corporate and business unit measurement, performance and rewards. Mr. Schechter has expertise in the identification and prioritization of key value drivers and aligning management incentives to value creation performance across the organization. He also has extensive experience in linking share price performance, business measures and compensation to ensure that managers act like owners. Mr. Schechter has worked with senior executives across many industries, with an emphasis on the media and entertainment market. Prior to joining L.E.K., Mr. Schechter created and funded new businesses, and evaluated business plans and company operations at Xerox Venture Capital. Before that, he was a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group.
Bill Reynolds, Vice President/Media Director, Erwin-Penland: Bill Reynolds is Vice President/Media Director for Erwin-Penland, a 250-person full-service communications firm in Greenville, S.C., that is part of Interpublic Groups Hill, Holliday. He oversees the agencys media planning and buying functions, leveraging his expertise in online display advertising, search engine marketing and analytics to migrate clients to new communications platforms, while embracing the timeless power of traditional media. Reynolds began his career in New York City, where he worked for such agencies as Cunningham & Walsh and Wells Rich Greene, handling clients including Schlitz Light, Old Milwaukee, English Leather, Bic and Ralston Purina. He then joined Henderson Advertising in Greenville as media director, working on Dow Brands, Hanes, Sara Lee Foods and Procter & Gamble cold and cough products. In 2005 he joined Erwin-Penland, where his media and analytic skills are a perfect match for a retail-oriented client roster that has included Verizon Wireless, Dunkin Donuts, BI-LO Supermarkets and Advance America.
Ramiro Sanchez, Director, Strategy and Audience Development at Reuters Media, Thomson Reuters. Ramiro leads Reuters audience development, advertising and content strategy across Reuters Media digital platforms: Reuters.com, Mobile, TV Online and Outdoor. In this capacity he leads innovation and monetization of direct to consumer media platforms. He also works with clients, Reuters innovation team and new technology companies to create digital advertising based programs to bring to the consumer market. As head of Programming, Ramiro has led multi-media commercial solutions for events such as Olympics, Election, WorldCup and CES coverage; launched Reuters mobile (wap and iPhone) in several countries and ground-breaking outdoor interactive campaigns involving iphone and Reuters interactive signs on Times Square. Before joining Reuters, Ramiro was Director at AOL Time Warner, where he led the creation of several customer retention programs and developed user predictive behavior models to predict cancellations and increase engagement. Prior to AOL Time Warner, Ramiro was a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group where he led several international projects on Media and Telecommunications Practice, mostly focused on strategy and customer loyalty. Ramiro has a Master in Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico Buenos Aires (Argentina) and an MBA from UC Berkeley (US).
Anna Hunt, Principal Analyst, IMS Research: Anna Hunt is a principal analyst in IMS Researchs Consumer Electronics Group, and focuses on portable CE device markets, convergence in the CE and mobile space, and new digital TV platforms such as mobile TV and 3D TV. In additional, Anna is part of IMS Researchs consultancy team that focuses on serving global CE and semiconductor clients. Prior to this role, she was the Groups research director, responsible for the Groups strategic direction. Anna has seven years of expertise in the areas of digital set-top boxes, the global digital TV ecosystem, and consumer electronics. She is part of the judging panel for The Cable & Satellite International Product of the Year Awards, and has presented and moderated at several international conferences, including Mediacast, IP Trends, and CES. Prior to joining IMS Research, Anna was the Americas region marketing and communications director for French enterprise software company, ICOM Informatics. She has over a decade of industry experience in market research, MARCOM, and branding in enterprise technology sectors, and is able to communicate in three languages. Anna holds a bachelor of business administration in international business from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from St. Edwards University. She is based in San Jose and Costa Rica.
Russell P. Reeder, President and CEO, LibreDigital, Inc.: As President and CEO at LibreDigital, Russell P. Reeder is responsible for the vision and strategic growth at one of the fastest-growing digital media service companies serving the publishing industry. Experienced in driving new models for media and entertainment, most recently Mr. Reeder served as president and COO of NxTV, leading the third largest IVPOD provider in the hospitality industry, which was named to Inc. Magazines Fast 500. Previously, Reeder founded RightsLine, Inc., a company that provides the most-used legal copyright licensing system for Media and Entertainment. Reeder also held executive positions at Oracle, American Management Systems and Mobile Oil.
