Bismarck Lepe, Co-founder and President of Products, Ooyala: As an Ooyala co-founder and founding CEO, Bismarck Lepe raised $10 million in funding and signed many of the company's early media partnerships before passing the baton to Jay Fulcher in 2009. Currently, as President of Product Strategy, he is responsible for marketing and driving Ooyala's product development vision. Bismarck sits on the Ooyala Board of Directors. Before founding Ooyala, Bismarck worked at Google as a Senior Product Manager, developing and managing new products for the company's AdSense network. He launched more than 25 different Google AdSense products, including Click-to-Play video ads and Google's Intelligent Ad Server, which brought the company over $1 billion dollars in new annual revenue. Most notably, Bismarck managed the early growth of AdSense display and video advertising. Business Week named Bismarck one of its Best Young Tech Entrepreneurs of 2009. Bismarck has a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Computer Science from Stanford University.
John Watson, Executive Director of Business Development, AT&T Digital Media Solutions: In this role he is responsible for identifying and developing go-to market propositions that integrate partner and AT&T products, solutions and services that provide ongoing business value for customers. Prior to joining AT&T Mr Watson was Vice-President of Business Development in the Content Markets group at Level 3 and was responsible for building relationships and positioning Level 3s content markets services within major Media organizations. Mr Watson did two stints at IMG, the worlds largest sports, media and lifestyle marketing company and most recently was responsible for the international sales and marketing of IMG Medias Internet and Broadband platform products. With over 10 years experience in the Online industry, John is tasked with using leading edge new media to enhance the online offerings of new and existing clients including ManUtd, Arsenal and The European Tour. Prior to rejoining IMG Media, John was the Executive Vice President responsible for sales and marketing at Nine Systems, a San Diego based streaming services company where he built a team that more than doubled revenue in 12 months helping attract clients including Warner Music, the NBA and the NHL. In his earlier stint at IMG Media, John served as a Vice-President of Business Development leading various strategic initiatives with organisations such as HP and MCI, to whom he oversaw the divestment of the Interactive Content Factory software business. He joined IMG Media initially as VicePresident of Hosting Operations and built the hosting group to service the web hosting, broadband, WAP, SMS, and MMS requirements of its roster of over 50 high-profile clients on four continents including the European PGA tour, Manchester United, O2, the Open Championship, Tiger Woods, and Wimbledon. John has also held various business development and product management roles at PSINet where he was instrumental in launching the managed web hosting business while building revenue and enhancing partnerships. John holds a BA from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MBA from the College of William and Mary where he graduated first in his class.
Larry Aidem, President and CEO, RayV, former president, Rainbow Ventures: Larry Aidem joined RayV as President & CEO in September 2009. Previously, he was president of Rainbow Ventures, a unit of Cablevision where he was responsible for identifying strategic business opportunities for Rainbow Media and each of its cutting-edge, multi-platform brands including: AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel and WE tv. Prior to joining Rainbow, Mr. Aidem served for 11 years as president and chief executive officer of Sundance Channel LLC. In addition to his ongoing responsibility for all of the networks business and creative activity, Mr. Aidem worked closely with the Channels three owners (NBC Universal, CBS and Robert Redford) on strategy development including the successful sale of the Channel to Cablevision in May 2008.
Arvind Venkateswaran, Sr. VP of Worldwide BD & Marketing and Americas & Asia GM, Geodesic: Arvind has significant expertise and experience in media and telecommunications, having held a wide range of executive management roles in entrepreneurial as well as corporate environments. Arvind leads the fast-growing mobile wireless and enterprise business units at Geodesic, a global, $130 Million, 500-employee mobile and web software products company targeting handset vendors, carriers, content providers and consumers. In this capacity, he has closed partnerships and deals with leading mobile wireless companies worldwide, and played a key role in the companys rapid growth. Prior to Geodesic, Arvind was VP of Strategy and Business Development at SpectraLink Corp and VP of Marketing at Hellosoft Inc. He has also held senior marketing and business development positions at Morphics Technology (acquired by Infineon), Zoran Corp. and Synopsys. Arvind has an MBA (Sloan Fellow) from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an MSEE from Syracuse University, New York. In addition to his role at Geodesic, Arvind advises silicon valley startups and assists VC and PE firms worldwide with deal sourcing and due diligence. He is also a visiting professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he teaches classes on entrepreneurship. In addition, he is the founding CEO of Malabar Associates, a business strategy-consulting firm targeting mobile wireless and telecom opportunities in the US and in Asia.
Marguerite Reardon, Senior Writer, CNET News: Marguerite Reardon has been covering the telecom beat for more than a decade and knows more about wireless and IP networking than she cares to admit. She has been a senior writer for CNET News since 2003, covering all things wireless and broadband related from iPhone launches to major telephone company mergers to IPTV developments. She often appears as an expert on news networks, including CNBC, MSNBC, NPR, and the BBC. Maggie loves visiting CNET's headquarters in San Francisco, but she's an East Coaster at heart, living and working in Manhattan.
Shay David, Co-founder & VP Business and Community Development, Kaltura: Dr. Shay David is a scholar and serial entrepreneur who specializes in collaborative and open-source information and communication systems. Shay is the co-founder of Kaltura, (http://www.kaltura.com) a pioneer in collaborative media, where he oversees technology and strategy. Kaltura has developed the world's first open source video solution stack, and is empowering the next generation of Wikipedia and sites like the UN's with collaborative rich media functionalities. Prior to Kaltura, Shay was a co-founder of Destinator Technologies, a leader in mobile-GPS-navigation software, and MindEcho, a collaborative filtering software company. Shay was involved for many years in cutting edge software research, combining open source and proprietary software. He led various product development cycles from concept to market and consulted on open systems to Fortune 500 companies like Toyota and Becton Dickson.
