Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President, Childrens Media, PBS: As Senior Vice President of Childrens Media at PBS, Lesli Rotenberg is responsible for the strategic direction of a contemporary, dynamic childrens media service that meets the needs of a new generation of children, their parents and teachers. Lesli leads a cross disciplinary team charged with content production, web development, multi-platform asset distribution, education resources, marketing and communications for the #1 quality brand for young children with more Emmy award-winning content than any other broadcast or cable network. Over 25 million Americans watch PBS KIDS each week and over 8 million visit PBS KIDS on the internet each month. Inspired by her experiences raising her own two daughters, in 2006, Lesli led the launch of PBS KIDS new multiplatform preschool destination, featuring the top U.S. series among children 2 to 5. The preschool destination continues to be a success with popular series added each year including CURIOUS GEORGE, SUPER WHY! and SID THE SCIENCE KID. Lesli was named one of the nations top 15 Women to Watch by Advertising Age, and invited to participate in the prestigious FORTUNE Most Powerful Women in Business Forum. Lesli has received numerous advertising and promotion honors including the 2003 Emmy for Best Commercial, the 2004 CINE Special Jury Award for Best On-Air Promo, 20 Promax/BDA Awards, seven CINE Golden Eagle awards, four CTAM Awards, and three Telly Awards.
Albie Hecht, CEO, Worldwide Biggies: Biggies is led by Chief Executive Officer, Albie Hecht, a former President of Nickelodeon Entertainment and Spike TV. Hecht is a recognized industry leader who oversaw the development and production of SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues, and live-action hit All That at Nickelodeon. While at Nickelodeon, he built the Nick Digital Studio as well as the first new animation studio in Los Angeles in 35 years. He also co-created Nickelodeons Kids Choice Awards as the founding principal and executive producer for Chauncey Street Productions. Hecht produced some of Paramounts biggest films of the last five years, most recently, Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events, which received four Academy Award nominations, and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Hecht was nominated for an Oscar as the producer of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, which was also a Golden Globe Nominee, and he was the executive producer of The Rugrats Movie, which was the first non-Disney animated feature to cross the hundred million dollar mark. At Spike TV, his hits included the Joe Schmo Show, MXC and signing the Ultimate Fighting Championship franchise. Hecht is responsible for the development and launch of Biggies new multi-platform hit the Naked Brothers Band.
Stephen Jackson, President and CEO, Smashing Ideas: Steve joined Smashing Ideas in February 2005 having been active in the new media industry for over 12 years. Prior to joining Smashing Ideas, was President and CEO of Applied Semantics, a Santa Monica, CA-based producer of software applications (AdSense) for the online advertising, domain name and enterprise information management markets. The company realized a half billion unique impressions a month across its domain-name network, with a click-through rate of 50 percent on many of the listings. Applied Semantics was acquired by Google in 2003. Before joining Applied Semantics, Steve served as senior vice president and general manager of iXL, Inc. during which time he created the global Media & Entertainment division, which produced innovative consumer-focused Internet sites and revenue-generating business-to-business online initiatives. Under Steve's direction, the division grew annual revenues from $2.5M to over $15M in under 18 months. iXL went public in 1999 and reached a market capitalization of $3.5 billion with 38 offices globally. An entrepreneur and early Internet provider, Steve was founder and CEO of Spin Cycle Entertainment which he sold to iXL. While overseeing the implementation of numerous Web sites for Spin Cycle clients, Steve directed and produced six TV shows for Universal Studios as well as the Microsoft television special on the launch of Windows 95. Steve's company (a Smashing Ideas client in 1998) was credited with creating Universal's first Java-enabled online game with Jurassic Park, as well as the first utilization of streaming audio for a Waterworld online game over nine years ago.
Josh Selig, Founder and President, Little Airplane Productions: Josh Selig founded Little Airplane Productions, Inc. in 1999 with the simple goal of creating the most innovative preschool television programming in the world. In addition to running Little Airplane, Josh is the Creator and Executive Producer of The Wonder Pets! on Nick Jr. (winner of the 2009 Japan Prize for Best Television Series), Oobi! on Noggin and "Go, Baby!" on Playhouse Disney. His 3rd & Bird! airs worldwide, including CBeebies in the UK. The short form series The Olive Branch, from Little Airplanes non-profit Little Light Foundation, airs on Nick Jr. in the U.S. and on over 100 Nickelodeon networks worldwide. Josh has received 10 Emmy Awards for his work as a writer on Sesame Street and has won a Humanitas Award for his work as Head Writer on Nick Jr.'s Little Bill. He was also the Resident Producer in Jerusalem for the historic Israeli-Palestinian production of "Sesame Street." He has directed over 50 short films for clients including Playhouse Disney and Sesame Street. His short film, The Time-Out Chair was featured in the 2002 Tribeca Film Festival and has since been acquired by The Museum of Modern Art.
Chris Monteleone, Vice President, Interactive Business Operations & Revenue, Madison Square Garden: Chris Monteleone is currently Vice President of Business Operations and Revenue for Madison Square Garden and Fuse Interactive a division of Madison Square Garden, Inc. In his current role, Chris is responsible for the monetization of MSG and Fuse content across mobile, web and all other emerging platforms. The MSGi network of websites includes the sports teams of the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, iconic venues Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden as well as the respective sites for the Fuse and MSG cable networks. Prior to MSGi Chris was Director of Digital Development for Rainbow Media, In that role he developed business opportunities and partnerships with interactive media companies in the mobile, internet and emerging platform sectors of the business. Rainbow Media consists of multiple nationally distributed networks (AMC, IFC, WE, Sundance), which comprise over 250MM homes in aggregate. Over his career, Chris has held positions at Cablevision, E! Entertainment Networks and The Game Show Network. Chris is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut and resides with his family in Huntington, NY.
