Jonathan Anastas, Vice President, Global Head of Marketing, Atari, Inc.: At Atari, Jonathan is leading the shift toward the use of Digital marketing and distribution channels as the category’s primary selling tools.  From Social Media as a sales channel to partnerships with traditional Hollywood media companies where co-branded download hubs sit at the center of cross-platform launch campaigns, Anastas - and Atari - are working through the evolution of Digital entertainment and creating new marketing models for the new decade. Prior to Atari, Jonathan spend more than 15 years building practices, agencies and brands while always looking at the advertising industry with an Iconoclast’s eye. Most recently, Anastas was a Divisional President at Mercury Media Holdings where he was responsible for the company’s Digital practice, leading strategy and day-to-day operations on a national basis, while also working with all of MMH’s regional offices to execute ROI-based integrated media solutions for existing and prospective clients such as Neutrogena.  Anastas joined Mercury Media Holdings from Tribal DDB’s Redurban, an Omnicom-owned digital agency where he oversaw US launch offices in New York and Dallas. Prior, Jonathan held a number of management and account service roles at agencies including Mullen, Saatchi & Saatchi (co-founding and leading their West Coast Interactive team) and Omnicom Digital agency THINK New Ideas, rising to the level of Executive Vice President and Managing Director. Anastas is recognized as an early advocate of both Digital marketing and true idea-based integration across many mediums and holds advisory board positions with various early to mid-stage media and e-commerce companies.

Kris Soumas, Head of Games, AETN Digital Media, a division of A&E Television Networks: She reports to Dan Suratt, Executive Vice President, Digital Media and Business Development. Based in New York, Soumas oversees AETN’s casual gaming initiative, which includes the Games channel on myLifetime.com and the social gaming site DressUpChallenge. She has also released a series of downloadable and retail games under the Lifetime Games label. Additionally, Soumas was responsible for Lifetime Networks’ acquisition of Roiworld.com, which brings more than 1,000 fashion and style games to the Lifetime Games portfolio. Soumas also manages Lifetime Game Studios Korea, which is headquartered in Seoul, and Roiworld.com’s U.S. operations, based in San Francisco, that focuses on business development, technology and sales. In the first month of its domestic launch in February 2009, Roiworld.com posted significant traffic figures, over 2 million unique visitors and 70 million page views, and registered more than 500,000 new members. Soumas played the leading role in the Lifetime Networks’ successful Games initiative. The Company’s downloadable games have launched in the top 10 across all the major gaming portals, and she oversaw the release of Blood Ties, which was a #1 top-selling game in both the U.S. and Europe. Previously, Soumas was Vice President, Content Development, New Media of Lifetime Networks. Before joining Lifetime in 1999, she worked for ABC Television. From 1995 to 1999, Soumas was an original member of the team that developed ABC.com and ABCNews.com. She produced Oscars.com® from 1996 to 1998, as well as some of the network’s first interactive television applications. Prior to that, Soumas worked in CD-ROM game development for Creative Wonders, ABC’s joint venture with Electronic Arts. From 1991 to 1995, she worked on the production units at ABC in Concert and ABC News Peter Jennings Reports. Soumas is a graduate of Barnard College.

Karl Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, PlaySpan: Karl Mehta brings over 16 years of experience to
PlaySpan in founding and building high-tech businesses in the US and international markets. Prior to co-founding PlaySpan Inc., Karl was part of the founding team at MobileAria Inc. (acquired by Wireless Matrix) and co-founder/ CEO of OmniLabs Inc.. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Hughes, leading new business and technology development. Karl is Charter member of TiE-Silicon Valley and board member of Ecosystem Ventures.







Alex Rampell is the co-founder and CEO of TrialPay, where he is responsible for general management and building corporate infrastructure. Prior to TrialPay, Alex co-founded FraudEliminator, the first consumer anti-phishing company, which merged into SiteAdvisor and was acquired by McAfee in April 2006. Alex began his career writing and selling consumer software on bulletin board systems and the nascent Internet. His first successful company gained hundreds of thousands of paying consumers worldwide and had products featured in Forbes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, "Today," CNBC and BusinessWeek. He holds an AB in Applied Math and Computer Science, cum laude, from Harvard University.











Michael Lu is the Director of product for RockYou. He is responsible for driving product strategy for advertising, and media operations at RockYou. Previously, he served as the Director of Product for YuMe as one of the first employees and helped grow the company as a dominate leader in video advertising working with fortune 500 agencies like Team Detroit, Uniliever, and Universal McCann. Prior toYuMe, he was responsible for product at Knight Ridder Digital, launching a new platform in over 32 local markets.


















Mike Vorhaus, President, Magid Advisors: Founded the Magid Internet and New Media research
and consultation practice in 1995, with AOL and Excite as his first two clients. Mike’s team has completed over 2,500 engagements with over 100 Internet clients. Mike began the Magid Gaming Practice in 2001 with EA and Sony Online as his first two clients. The Magid Game Practice now works with most of the major game publishers. Mike provides research and consulting services to a number of major traditional media companies in regard to their new media initiatives, as well as consulting a number of leading Internet and gaming companies. He has also provided advice to venture capital and private equity firms in regard to investments in the media space. Mike has been involved in strategic and tactical consulting, including the launch of new services and programming, as well as development and implementation of online and offline marketing programs. Mike has also been extensively involved in video and PC gaming strategies for a number of our companies, as well as the development of game concepts. Mike has consulted on a number of film projects such as You’ve Got Mail and The Matrix. He holds a B.S. in psychology and sociology from Wesleyan University and has worked as a fundraiser and transfer of technology officer at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California. Mike also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, The U.S. Senate, and for two Administrations in the White House.
