Social Television - The Merger of Content, Social Interaction and the Video Platforms
There is no separating it – TV viewing and social media have joined hands. TV shows are posting tweets and encouraging an immediate social relationship among viewers. TV celebrities are reaching out to their fan base and viewers are creating a host of social media-TV relationships. As most major websites, from Facebook and Twitter to the TV sites themselves enable their communities to reach other, all roads lead to the further interaction between the TV viewer and social media technologies.

Chad Stoller, EVP Digital Strategy, BBDO North America: Chad Stoller is a mobile and digital media expert and lifelong New Yorker. He serves as the Executive VP of Digital Strategy at BBDO. Previously he led the Emerging Platforms team at digital advertising agency Organic Inc. He is an angel investor in Foursquare and an advisor to 140 Proof. Stoller is credited as inventor of the “Mayor” feature in Foursquare.

General Manager, TVGuide.com: Media executive responsible for team
leadership, P&L, business strategy and day-to-day operations of TV Guide Digital. In 3 years, TV Guide Digital has transformed the brand, quadrupling TVGuide.com traffic to over 23 million unique users. The site is #1 in engagement metrics in its competitive set and the mass market leader in video search for full episodes, with over 225,000 episodes from over 120 sources. TV Guide Digital's iPhone app has over 1.3 million installations, and its iPad and Android apps are growing rapidly.















Gayle Weiswasser, VP Social Media Communications, Discovery Communications: Gayle is the Vice President of Social Media Communications at Discovery Communications, where she oversees social media strategy for Discovery and its networks and corporate initiatives. This includes Facebook and Twitter strategy and implementation, as well as social media outreach, partnerships with location-based services, and social media monitoring. Prior to Discovery, she worked at a crisis communications firm, where she helped corporate clients develop and implement non-traditional communications plans around products, issues and crisis response.












Mari Ghuneim, Vice President, Bravo Digital Media: Mari Ghuneim, Vice President of Bravo Digita
l Media, manages the strategic development, content and operations for BravoTV.com and TelevisionWithoutPity.com. Since her appointment in 2007, Ghuneim has spearheaded the relaunch of both sites, and expanded the portfolio of Bravotv.com to include lifestyle hubs such as Food by Bravo, Style by Bravo and Guides by Bravo. Ghuneim is also instrumental in forging multiple strategic partnerships for Bravo’s digital properties. Under her watch, TelevisionWithoutPity was named as one of the "25 Web Sites We Can't Live Without" by Time Magazine in 2010, as well as overseeing the development of a weekly television series, "The Week Without Pity," which airs on New York Nonstop. Prior to joining Bravo, Ghuneim served as Executive Director in programming at AOL since 2004. In that role, she relaunched the lifestyle portal AOL Living and launched the beauty and fashion site Stylelist.com. Ghuneim first joined AOL in January 1999, serving a number of key roles inside the organization, including leading programming for AOL Music, where she grew the site into a top online music destination. She launched a number of innovative programming initiatives including "AOL Sessions," "Dave Matthews Live from Central Park," the Emmy-nominated "Top 11 Countdown Show" and the Emmy-winning "Live 8." Additionally, Ghuneim worked across AOL's entertainment sites in TV, movies and radio, developing cross-device programs, as well as building new opportunities in social media. Ghuneim earned her B.A. from the University of Chicago and M.A. from Stanford University.

Greg March, Director of Digital Media, W+K New York: Greg March leads the W+K digital media team including clients such as ABC Television, Disney XD, Brand Jordan (a Nike company), and ABC Family. In this role Greg’s team concepts and executes across all digital platforms including social networks, mobile, video, behavioral targeting, gaming, and search. Greg has contributed to marketing of the successful television launches of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, ABC’s Modern Family, the launch of Disney XD, and ESPN’s launch of Monday Night Football coverage.
