Gerrit Meier is the Chief Operating Officer of Clear Channel Radio's digital unit and a member of the companys Executive Leadership Team. In this role, he is focusing on growing audience and revenue across the company's network of approximately 900 radio station websites, portable devices via iheartradio and other viral distribution points. Leading industry change in its approach to programming and sales, Clear Channel Radio has evolved from just radio to become a content creation and distribution company with unique assets, resources and a differentiated platform that allows competing across all media. Meier oversees the units operations, finance, business and product development functions, including technology, platforms, eCommerce, ad operations, online support processes; all budgetary and financial management, legal and HR. He has been actively involved in the global media and entertainment area for 15 years and has been published by Harvard University and McGraw-Hill on the evolution of the music industry and the topics of digital media distribution and monetization. He holds business degrees from Harvard Business School and the European Business School and lives with his wife and two children in Connecticut. He was previously responsible for EMI Musics digital business in North America, where he was in charge of defining new business models, negotiating and closing digital deals with retail partners and integrating digital into EMIs operating units. He also served as Vice President of Global Strategy for the EMI Group where he worked with EMIs senior management to identify new opportunities inside and outside of the traditional operational scope of a music company. Prior to EMI, Meier headed Corporate Development for BMG Music in North America, where he led the development and management of internal initiatives aimed to accelerate operational improvement and the streamlining of business practices. He also served as Director of Corporate Development (ZU Zentrale Unternehmensentwicklung) for Bertelsmann AG in Gütersloh and New York. In addition, Meier was a strategy consultant with Accentures Media & Entertainment Practice in London focusing on operational and strategic issues regarding the future of the entertainment industry, digital content distribution and converging media technologies.
Carl J. Rohling, Esq. Vice President, Business Development, RadioTime: Carl Rohling is a Vice President of Sales and Business Development for RadioTime, Inc. He manages strategic alliances and distribution for both the consumer web service and the OEM business units. His focus for web services is portal, music and ISP services and for OEM targets the automotive, PC, consumer electronics. Rohling has over (6) years experience in digital media covering both hardware and software in roles ranging from marketing, sales and business development. He spent (2) years at Creative Labs overseeing their business development activities for the portable audio, speaker and web camera business units. Tying together services and hardware was his achievement in delivering and end-to-end solution for a better consumer experience. Prior to that, he spent (3) years as Director of Business Development for SonicBlue, Inc. Rohling was involved in SonicBlues expansion into consumer electronics with the acquisition of the ReplayTV and GoVideo product lines. Rohling was a corporate attorney for Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York City and a litigation attorney for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison working out of their New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. Rohling pursued undergraduate studies from University at Albany and MBA, J.D from University at Buffalo.
Adrian Rubio, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Flycell: In his role as senior vice president of corporate development at Flycell, Adrian Rubio is one of the principal architects shaping the company's services vision. Adrian directs teams in product development and business development to build a digital entertainment service that anyone can use, not just early adopters of expensive new technologies. That means Flycell must be aware of the most popular mobile and computing devices in the market, the desires of the youth demographic and the need for easy-to-use services and responsive customer service. Previously Adrian held the position of Flycell's senior vice president of business development where he helped technology, media and entertainment companies optimize their content, platforms and marketing strategies for mobile. Adrian joined Flycell from Zingy (now Vindigo), a developer and distributor of mobile applications and mobile advertising solutions, where he held various executive positions including vice president of international operations and vice president of business development. While at Zingy, Adrian closed key deals with major online and offline media companies and carriers in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Europe. Prior to Zingy, Adrian worked in the Washington D.C. area for Internet and software startups in the public and private sectors. Adrian's career in entertainment began as a musician. He, along with his band, recorded two albums for BMG, toured internationally and co-directed an award-winning music video. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science in computer systems from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a Master of Business Administration in finance and marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Matthew Stecker, President and CEO, LiveWire Mobile: Matthew Stecker brings considerable experience as an operating executive and strategic consultant in the telecommunications industry to LiveWire Mobile (as well as a passion for music). Prior to joining LiveWire as its CEO in November 2009, Mr. Stecker was a vice president and leader of TMNG's technology strategy practice, consulting to some of the world's leading brands as they navigate the convergence of the media and telecom industries. He has previously served on the leadership team at Vindigo, where he led the team behind the first successful advertising-supported mobile application and as CTO of SmartServ Online where he expanded the company's mobile application catalog while launching the Uphonia MVNO. Previously, Mr. Stecker was president of Marble Associates, Inc. of Boston a pioneer in the implementation of Object-Oriented Technologies in Fortune 500 businesses. He received his BA in Computer Science from Duke University, as well as his JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
Jason Herskowitz, VP, Product Management, LimeWire: Jason comes to Lime Company (and glorious NYC) via Washington DC, via Boston, via San Francisco, via Baltimore, via Atlanta, via Blacksburg (VA), via Washington DC. No matter how many times he laps the country, one thing rarely changes... his love of all things digital music and social media. He has held various lead and backup roles in such notable acts as TotalMusic, AOL Music, MyStrands, and Analog Devices. Less notable were stints at his own indie label (Prodigal Sun) and DigiScents. He has pieces of paper somewhere (possibly in the back of his closet, under his shoes) that claim he has an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Jason owns many musical instruments, none of which he has the talent to play.
David Nam, VP Marketing & Communications at MXP4, plays an integral role in the company's product, marketing and customer-relations strategies. He is responsible for MXP4's brand and sales strategies as well as ongoing user acquisition and retention. Previously, David was Head of Marketing at Last.fm (London), where he managed the creative, product, and development teams on all marketing and advertising initiatives while coordinating all Last.fm/Presents live music programs.
Mike Dougherty, co-founder and CEO, Jelli. Prior to Jelli, Mike was the vice president of business development at Tellme, a division of Microsoft and a leader in speech applications (acquired by Microsoft in 2007). Tellme initially backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Benchmark, Barksdale Group and AT&T, runs the world's largest hosted VXML speech platform and pioneered the idea of unlocking the power of everyday devices and the web using speech. Prior to that, Mike was senior vice president of business & corporate development at Loudeye, an early leader in digital and mobile music services (acquired by Nokia in 2006).
