Anthony Bay, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, MOD Systems: As chairman, CEO and co-founder of MOD Systems, Anthony Bay brings more than 25 years of experience as a technology executive and private venture investor. Prior to forming MOD in 2005, Anthony was the executive chairman of Loudeye Corporation (formerly NASDAQ: LOUD), which was acquired in 2006 by Nokia and now powers Nokia's global music service, OVI. Before joining Loudeye, Anthony spent six years with Microsoft, last serving as corporate vice president and general manager of the Digital Media Division, and as a member of Microsoft's executive staff. His team was responsible for the creation and development of Windows Media technologies including Media Player, Media Server, codecs, DRM, and the windowsmedia.com portal. While at Microsoft, Anthony also served as general manager of the company's Commercial Systems Division and general manager of all MSN development and systems. He managed the development organization that shipped the original version of MSN with Windows 95. Prior to Microsoft, Anthony spent eight years at Apple Computer, including three years at Apple's European headquarters in Paris. He served as general manager of Apple's Online Services in Europe, general manager for Enterprise Systems Europe, and product line manager for Apple's Workgroup Systems. Anthony sits on the board of MODUSLINK (NASDAQ: MLNK) one of the world's leading supply chain vendors, and chairs the committee which governs its @Ventures VC subsidiary. He served for five years on the board of European Capital Ventures (ECV), a small private equity investment firm in London, and he also served as chairman and vice chairman for four years at Active24 and led its IPO on the OSLO stock exchange. Anthony has a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles and a Masters of Business Administration from California State University San Jose. He also has studied at INSEAD in Paris, France, and at Goerg-August Universitaet in Goettingen, Germany.
Jens Horstmann, Vice President of Technology, NCR Entertainment Solutions: Prior to accepting this position, he was DVDPlay's CTO, president and CEO since 2002. Mr. Horstmann is involved in several start-ups, serves on the board of Acceleware (TSX:AXE) and manages MXGO, an intellectual property management company. He has 25 years of executive, technology and engineering experience in the high tech industry and holds several patents. Prior to joining DVDPlay he was president and CEO of Open Grid, Inc. Previously, he founded Ensemble Solutions and lectured for UC Berkeley. His prior experience includes senior engineering, research and development positions at Sun Microsystems, Siemens, LSI Logic's Systems Research Laboratory, and X1 Corporation. He lives with his family in Silicon Valley and is an avid pilot and photographer.
Mark Ely, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Sonic Solutions: Mark Ely joined Sonic Solutions in 1992. Mr. Ely has served as executive vice president of strategy at Sonic Solutions since April 2005. A leader in digital media software, Sonic develops products ranging from the advanced authoring systems used to produce Hollywood DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles to award-winning consumer applications and services. During his tenure, Mark has played a leading role in partner relations as well as mergers and acquisitions. Currently, Mark is directing Sonics Premium Content Group, which is focused on delivering high-quality digital entertainment to a broad range of consumer electronics. Mr. Ely received a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Heather Way, Research Analyst, Parks Associates: Heather Way studies digital media advertising services and platforms as well as consumer research focusing on digital entertainment, digital media habits, and consumer purchase processes. Prior to joining Parks Associates, Heather worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth media market for thirteen years, holding positions as Director of Advertising, media planner and buyer, national sales representative, and training coordinator. Most recently, Heather taught as an adjunct professor in the Department of Radio, Television, and Film at the University of North Texas. Heather earned an MS degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, and holds a BS in Mass Communications from East Central University, Ada, Oklahoma.
Scott Francis, Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, PRN: As PRNs chief technical officer and senior vice president of engineering, Scott Francis maintains overall responsibility for the research, design and development of technical solutions to support the growth of new product and service opportunities. Scott has been working with crowd-sourced content technologies for more than 15 years and built some of the first large-scale media systems on the Internet picture hosting for eBay and anti-peer-to-peer systems for Macrovision. In his role, Scott provides advice to several top retailers and CE manufacturers on the use of media and technology at retail. He holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a masters degree in management from Santa Clara University.
