Richard Yen, Director, Saban Ventures: Richard is a Director at Saban Ventures,
an early-stage venture firm investing in digital media, mobile, and consumer Internet start-ups. Saban Ventures is the venture capital investment arm of Saban Capital Group, a private investment firm founded by Haim Saban in 2001 and specializing in the media, entertainment, and communications industries. Prior to joining Saban Ventures, Richard was a Principal at Blueprint Ventures in San Francisco where he established the firm's digital media and Internet investing practice. He led early-stage investments and was an active Board member at several leading digital media start-ups. Prior to that, Richard was at Rustic Canyon Partners, an early-stage technology venture capital firm in Southern California where he focused on software infrastructure and wireless investments. In his prior operating roles, Richard played a lead role as the fourth employee at ShockMarket, a Silicon Valley-based consumer Internet start-up that raised $6 million in venture funding and grew to 25 employees. As Director of Technology, he oversaw software development, negotiated and closed sales of first-generation products, and assisted with venture fundraising. Richard began his career as an early member of D. E. Shaw & Co.'s Internet incubator in Boston. He developed the technology behind the company's pioneering web brokerage and was the lead technical liaison to Fortune 100 business partners. Richard was promoted from Senior Software Engineer to Vice President in a four-year span, during which the business unit grew from 10 to 80 employees and was acquired by Merrill Lynch, where he served as VP of Intelligent Technologies. Richard earned a BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, both with high honors. Richard is a graduate of the Kauffman Fellows Program

DAVID MIN is a Principal at Steamboat Ventures and has been with the company since its founding in 2000. David has over 16 years of experience in media and entertainment and technology. David currently serves on the board of directors of Scrapblog and Voodoovox. Prior to Steamboat, David worked for over 5 years in various capacities in corporate strategic planning at The Walt Disney Company. Earlier in his career, David worked as a producer and screenwriter in television and motion pictures for Warner Brothers and as a Creative Executive in motion picture development for Imagine Entertainment. Throughout his career, David has worked with all of the major Hollywood Studios including CBS, Miramax, Sony Pictures, Universal and his past experience also includes working with the industry leading pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. David received a BS in Biology and a BA in Telecommunications from Indiana University, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Business.

Rob Marcolina is a partner in Bain & Company’s Los Angeles office, but has also spent time working in Bain & Company’s Sydney office. He joined the firm in 1999 after spending five years prior working in consulting in Australia, Europe the United States. Rob is a leader in our Media, Telecom and Technology practice and has worked extensively across a variety of verticals, including a strong focus on media convergence, helping traditional media (TV, Film, print & publishing) as well as digital media (search, online verticals) monetize opportunities in quickly changing market environments. His work has included corporate strategy, major transformation, salesforce effectiveness, product development, pricing, performance improvement, organization redesign, M&A and strategic and financial diligences of possible targets. Rob earned his MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He is also a graduate of University of Melbourne where he received a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics.

Ronald Grover covers the media and entertainment industry for Bloomberg Businessweek in Los Angeles. Grover joined BusinessWeek's Washington bureau in 1979, covering energy policy. From 1982 to 1986 he was BusinessWeek's congressional correspondent. He moved to Los Angeles in 1986 as a correspondent, covering entertainment, politics, and other business news. Grover holds an MBA from George Washington University and a master's from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He is the author of The Disney Touch.






Mark Terbeek is a Partner at MK Capital. Mark focuses on investment opportunities in the digital media and data center automation sectors. Prior to founding MK Capital, Mark co-founded Jamcracker, Inc., an enterprise software provider and served as its vice president of corporate development. He also worked at McKinsey & Co., a management consulting firm as a business analyst. He has served on the board of directors of Bladelogic, VPNet Technologies, Network Commerce, Kontiki, and was actively involved at Exodus Communications. He currently serves on the boards of the following MK Capital portfolio companies: Machinima, Generate, Netuitive, and NBX. Mark is a graduate of DePauw University and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Mark is based in the Los Angeles office
