Mobile & Broadband Music: New Platforms + New Technology + More Music + Dynamic Marketplace
The music industry, the mobile community and the broadband universe have now become near perfect if not reluctant partners. We got an inkling of what was coming twenty years ago when the Walkman changed the way people listened to music, but we didn’t understand just how it would emerge until a couple of hundred million wirelessly connected handheld devices got sold to the consumer in one year. As a result of the mobile explosion on top of the fully realized broadband base, music and the consumer experience continues growth and evolution. With music as ringtone, mobile device as retail provider, radio player, music library and broadband-home connection as the backbone, the consumer is now fully immersed in a music experience. In this session we will not only address the question of device as a musical provider, we will address the issue of revenue generation in that process.
