Todd Zander, Vice President, Digital Media Distribution, Discovery Communications: As vice president, Digital Media Distribution, Todd Zander is charged with developing and executing strategies to drive further distribution for Discoverys digital media offerings across online and mobile platforms. In addition, he works closely with the Discovery Education division to extend distribution for the companys award-winning educational services through new partnerships within the digital arena. Previously, Zander served as director, Digital Media Distribution, where he built partnerships with major mobile distributors as well as service providers and developers. Zander joined Discovery in 2008 and has played a leading role in expanding its mobile reach through new partnerships with Quickplay Primetime2Go, an exclusive Shark Week MediaFLO channel and the launch of a Discovery Channel branded iPhone App, which was the #1 most popular free app within days of its debut. Previously, Zander was the Associate Director for the V CAST Video product at Verizon Wireless. He has held sales executive positions at Microsoft and Sun Microsystems and began his career in product marketing at AT&T Labs.
Anthony Bontrager, President, 1Cast: A recognized veteran in telecommunications, broadcasting and interactive media, Anthony Bontrager is President of 1cast, Inc., where he is responsible for setting overall strategy and establishing key technology and content partnerships. Prior to 1Cast, Anthony was President and CEO of Broadstream Communications, Inc., a company he co-founded, which became the telecommunications industrys first virtual head-end and middleware platform for IPTV delivery. Under Anthonys leadership, Broadstream was the first company to secure the largest library of IP-content rights from companies such as NBC-Universal, Disney/ABC, ESPN, Starz, Discovery, Fox, Turner Networks and others. Previously, Anthony was General Manager at Fisher Pathways, Inc. (a division of Fisher Communications, Inc.), where he oversaw programming origination and satellite and fiber re-distribution of television and video content for companies such as ESPN, The Portland Trail Blazers, CNN and others. Anthonys telecom career began during the early days of PCS systems deployments and continued with Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. where, as Vice President of Real Estate, he oversaw the acquisition of over 800 million square feet of telecommunications facilities in the United States, London and Scandinavia. Anthony is also the Managing Partner with Axis Partners, LLC a digital media consultancy, and sits on the advisory boards of SATCON and IP Media Expo; and the board of directors of Alexandria Investment Company. Anthony is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Interactive Media Peer Group and Film Group, and is a past member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and World Teleport Association (WTA). Anthony is a sought after speaker on digital media and IPTV and has authored various articles on telecommunications and digital media, which includes being a co-author of Washington States wireless siting policy. Anthony holds a degree in Business Administration and Finance from Seattle University.
Madeline Herdrich, Vice President of Mobile, Paramount Pictures Digital Entertainment Group: In this role, Madeline is charged with the overall distribution, marketing and operations of the Americas Mobile business. Previously, Madeline served as Sr. Director of Consumer Business Development at AT&T Mobility, where she led the content strategy and execution of new business initiatives for Video, WAP and messaging applications and services. Prior to AT&T Mobility, Madeline held key leadership positions with Prodigy Internet, MCI Telecommunications and Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Madeline hold a Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law.
Warren Chao, Chief Operating Officer, As My Damn Channels chief operating officer, Warren Chao brings an ideal blend of management experience and a background in digital entertainment. In addition to overseeing My Damn Channels operations, Chao is responsible for managing the Companys strategic alliances and partnerships, including syndication relationships with major portals to distribute My Damn Channels professionally-produced original entertainment content. Chao most recently served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning for Gemstar-TV Guide International (NASDAQ: GMST), where he launched and managed new initiatives across the companys various business units as part of a cross-platform strategy that combined the audience reach of TV Guide Magazine, the TV Guide Channel and <http://www.tvguide.com>www.tvguide.com. Chao was also part of Gemstar-TV Guides corporate mergers and acquisitions team responsible for acquiring new companies and technologies. Among the projects Chao developed for TV Guide was a collaboration with entrepreneur/NBA owner Mark Cuban to use Cubans Landmark Theatre chain to screen popular television shows in a community theater setting before they air on the network. TV Guide and Landmarks screenings of the Sci-Fi Channels midseason finale of Battlestar Galactica in December 2006 played to packed audiences in six cities across the United States and proved to be a positive branding event for TV Guide, NBC/Sci-Fi, and Landmark.
L.M. Kit Carson, Filmmaker/Journalist, AFRICA DIARY: Filmmaker/Journalist L.M. Kit Carson started in documentaries (in college he was an editor on the pioneer cinema-verite team of Richard Leacock and D.A. Pennebaker). His first film was a mock-documentary, David Holzmans Diary which won film festivals and was selected for the archives of The U.S. Library of Congress Collection as one of two hundred American Film Treasures. He has a history of award-winning and breakthrough productions that include PARIS, TEXAS; THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2; BOTTLE ROCKET; MIAMI VICE; and RUNNING ON EMPTY. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY magazine profiled Mr. Carson as The Big Brother of Independent Film; The New York Times described him as semi-legendary. Carson recently has circled back through his documentary journalist roots. Using Nokia N93 & N95 cellphone cameras, Carson journeyed across Africa, adapting his award-winning writing and imaging experience to robustly record a digital diary docu-series for a Sundance Channel: AFRICA DIARY. This work combines truth and heart in newsworthy reports that are set to air on the Sundance Channels 3 screens cable-TV; computer; and cellphones from late Fall 2009 into 2010.
Amber J Lawson, Comedy Publisher, Babelgum International: Amber J. Lawson recently jumped into the influential role of Comedy Publisher for Babelgum International where she is driving original production and interactive programming across fixed and mobile. Before joining Babelgum Lawson reigned, as Vice President of Programming for maniaTV prior to her VP position Lawson was Executive Producer and Head of Comedy. Lawson added her EVP of Branded Entertainment stripe in October of 2008 where she focused her integration expertise across the network and continued to strengthen agency relationships working with many brands including ATT, Wrigleys, Unilever, Dice, Doritos, XM radio, Samsung, Chilis and Nikon. Lawson has been a featured speaker at JFL, Digital Hollywood, SXSW, LATV Fest and Always On on interacting and immersive content, branded Entertainment and transmedia strategies. Lawson produced two Comedy Albums for National Lampoon Songs in the Key of FU and If were so wrong, Why are you laughing?. Before joining maniaTV Lawson was SVP of Development at National Lampoon where she EPd the National Lampoon Lemmings Sketch Comedy Troupe. Lawson also produced the LA sensation Comedy Cocktail with her partner Jay Leggett (The Factory, Without A Paddle) via an output deal with Super Deluxe. Comedy Cocktail has discovered and launched the careers of Askaninja, Frangela and the internet sensation Titanic II: Jack is Back. The first offshoot of Comedy Cocktail is the Summer of Tears pilot filmed for Warner Bros. A Productions President, Lawson has developed shows with Mark Burnett Productions, Spike, VH-1, MTV, ABC, and Touchstone. Creator and Executive Producer of the ABC/ Touchstone Television series ALYX (starring Marla Sokoloff) a co-production with Executive Producer/ partner Madonna. She has also performed at the prestigious Second City and the groundbreaking Improv Olympic with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Ms. Lawson is also a member of the Interactive Peer Group at the Academy of Television Arts & Science.
Frank Chindamo, President and Chief Creative Officer, Fun Little Movies: Frank Chindamo is the President and Chief Creative Officer of Fun Little Movies. "FLM" specializes in producing original, live-action comedy films for its mobile channels of entertainment on Sprint-Nextel, Microsoft, Smart Video phones, in the US and many other countries around the world. Theyre known as "Fun Funny Phone Films." Fun Little Movies has been the subject of cover stories in Forbes Magazine and the L.A. Times, and stories in Variety, Hollywood Reporter, CBS Radio, Wired Magazine, CBS TVs Inside Edition, The Chicago Tribune, and several other outlets. Frank Chindamo holds the world's record for most short films made independently. His films have appeared on HBO, Showtime, CBS, PBS, A&E, Playboy, MTV and Comedy Central, etc. Theyve won 20 awards including The American Cine Golden Eagle, The American International Film Festival and a Finalist's Place for Best Short at the Cannes Film Festival. Frank is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California. At USC, Frank teaches short screenplay writing. He also created the Student Script Database, the tool which will allow directors and writers to pool their talent and is intended to bring the best-written scripts at USC to the screen. As Executive Director of the Staged Screenplay Reading Series at the Lee Strasberg Theater, and as the Director of the Professional Screenwriting Workshops at SONY Studios, Chindamo developed fourteen feature films which have been produced for the screen. Frank also taught at the Gotham Writers Workshop and City University of New York. Frank was also a Vice President of Development at two production companies in LA and has worked as a script consultant on numerous projects. Frank Chindamo received his Film B.F.A. from N.Y.U. and his Screenwriting M.F.A. from Columbia University.
