Josh Kline, President & CEO, Secure Path Technology: Josh is a digital media industry veteran who founded Secure Path Technology in 2005 and serves as President & CEO. As the former CEO of Sample Digital and COO of that companys predecessor SampleReels.com Josh created the Digital Dailies system in use at many of the major studios and expanded its client base to include Universal, Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, Paramount, New Line, Bad Robot, NetFlix, Movielink, CinemaNow and Technicolor. Josh amassed significant experience across numerous entertainment-related disciplines, including work for ICM, feature production at Paramount Pictures, commercial production at HSI, Pytka and Radical Media, and worked as an independent producer and writer before transitioning to technology as a New Media Consultant for the Holiday Inn Corporation.
Steve Oetegenn, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Verimatrix: Steve Oetegenn's career in the Information Technology industry spans 25 years. He has a wide range of experience in international business, having launched numerous high tech products to the global marketplace. He began his career with Burroughs Corporation (now UNISYS) as a specialist for Optical Character Recognition Systems. He has specialized in Digital Security and Anti-Piracy since 1998, working with government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and major Hollywood studios. Prior to joining Verimatrix, He was COO of MediaSec Technologies LLC, a pioneer and leader in the field of digital watermarking, COO of Argus Systems Group, a leading provider of Internet server security software, and CEO of DCE Communication Ltd, a world wide provider of business messaging systems. Mr. Oetegenn has spoken at numerous global digital security conferences and speaks fluent German.
Rajan Samtani, Director, Business Development, Digimarc Corporation: Rajan Samtani, Senior Director of Business Development, Digimarc Corporation: Rajan Samtani is responsible for Digimarc's licensing and business development activities in Digital Watermarking applications in the Media & Entertainment market. Prior to Digimarc, Raj was at ContentGuard, Inc. where he was responsible for licensing DRM intellectual property to device manufacturers and service providers. Before that, he led sales and marketing at REAL Software Systems, the leader in rights and royalties solutions. Raj has a BA in Economics from UCLA. He has been a frequent speaker and moderator at several industry events such as Digital Hollywood, Jupiter DRM, Jupiter PlugIn, IMS Research, Building Blocks and Music 2.0 among others.
Anthony Bay, CEO of MOD Systems: MOD Systems CEO Anthony Bay co-founded the company in 2005 and holds more than 25 years of executive expertise, technology management and private-venture investor experience. Previously, he served as the Executive Chairman of Loudeye Corporation, acquired by Nokia in 2006 to power Nokias global music service. Before Loudeye, Bay spent six years with Microsoft and was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Media Division. He was responsible for multimedia and digital rights management (DRM) technologies, overseeing a team of 700 and a research and development budget of more than $125M. Bay also spent eight years at Apple Computer, including three years at Apple's European headquarters in Paris. He served as general manager of Apple's Online Services in Europe, general manager for Enterprise Systems Europe, and product line manager for Apple's Workgroup Systems. Bay sits on the board of CMGI (NASDAQ: CMGI) and chairs the technology committee, which governs its @Ventures VC subsidiary. He is also a principal in 21st Century Music, an independent music company. Bay has a bachelor's degree from the University of California Los Angeles and an MBA from California State University San Jose. He also has studied at INSEAD in Paris, France, and at Goerg-August Universitaet in Goettingen, Germany.
Oliver Mills, General Manager, EMEA, Intertrust Technologies: Oliver Mills is General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa for Intertrust Technologies Corporation. Prior to Intertrust, Mr. Mills worked at Vidiator and Nextreaming, where he was responsible for developing cutting-edge technologies to encode and stream multimedia to wireless devices. Mr. Mills also served as director of Sales for Intertrust. Before joining Intertrust he worked in the computer security, network management, and anti-virus marketplace for more than 15 years, acting as an agent and consultant for such companies as McAfee Associates, Axent Technologies Inc, Compaq, Novell, Mergent International, Intrusion Detection Inc, Quarterdeck, Security Dynamics, and Network Associates. Prior to that Mr. Mills worked in the entertainment industry, where he promoted and managed various groups for Riva Records, Stiff Records, Phonogram Records, and Epic/Sony.
James M. Burger, Attorney at Law, Dow Lohnes: James Burger is a member of the law firm of Dow Lohnes specializing in representationof technology companies on intellectual property, communications and government policy matters. Mr. Burger joined the firm's Media, Information and Technologies group in January, 1997. Prior to that, Mr. Burger was a Senior Director in Apple Computer's Law Department. During the nine years he was at Apple, Mr. Burger had a variety of assignments, including representing Apple's Advanced Technology Group, USA Field Sales organizations, and World-Wide Operations and Manufacturing, as well as General Counsel for Europe and Latin America and responsible for world wide government affairs. In addition, from 1991 until 1996, he was Chair of the Information Technology Industry Council's Proprietary Rights Committee. Mr. Burger has worked extensively on legal and policy issues arising from the confluence of digital technology, intellectual property protection and government regulation, particularly as affecting the Internet. Mr. Burger has participated in resolving such complex issues as DVD copy protection and digital download of music - representing the Computer Industry Group in negotiations developing the DVD Content Scrambling System copy protection rules as well as the Secure Digital Music Initiative. In addition, he has been engaged in such matters as the efforts to amend copyright law from leading the negotiations to exclude the computer industry from the Audio Home Recording Act, to avoid passage of the Digital Video Recording Act and to accommodate the protection of intellectual property on the Internet as well as the efforts to change the encryption export rules to protect digital communications. A native of New York City, he received his Bachelors (with Honors), Masters and Law (cum laude) degrees from New York University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the NYU Law Journal. For seven years, he was an adjunct professor at University of Virginia Law School, where he taught Advanced Administrative law.
