Dina Kaplan, co-founder, blip.t: and serves as the company's COO. Dina oversees business operations for the company with a particular focus on advertising and sponsorships, PR and marketing. Before blip.tv, Dina was a news reporter with WNBC in New York, Wave3 News (NBC) in Louisville Kentucky and News12 Long Island and New Jersey. Dina won an Emmy for Spot News last summer and in prior years has won Society of Professional Journalists Awards for Deadline Reporting, Service Reporting and Feature Reporting and Associated Press Awards for Best Feature and for Breaking Spot News. Before reporting, Dina produced stories for MTV News about politics, technology and a range of musical acts from Ozzy Osbourne to The Wu-Tang Clan to Jewel. She also helped coordinate MTV's Choose or Lose coverage of the 1996 Presidential Election. After graduating from college, Dina worked at the White House as Director of Research for the White House Counsel's Office and then as Special Assistant to the Director of Presidential Personnel. During college, Dina worked at Rock The Vote, setting up a volunteer network of representatives that registered college students to vote around the country. Dina graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in Economics, Government, Philosophy and History. She sits on the National Board of Wesleyan University and is a Founding Board Member of the Women's Media Center. She is a judge for the Interactive Media Awards and for the Webbies. She is also on the board of the Theodore Roosevelt Teddy Bears for Kids Annual Benefit.
Marc Scarpa, CEO, SimplyNew: Marc Scarpa is a pioneer in directing / producing live interactive media events and broadband programming networks. With development of media communities as his focus, he is among the top progressive media architect in the industry. His most recent credits include the Green Apple Festival, which was the largest Green Festival gathering in history. Over eight simultaneous locations throughout the United States, which included a 2-hour program for MySpace, Iclips Network and the Discovery channel. MySpace LIVE! a seven hour live High definition broadcast on the MySpace network that celebrated community through individual expression. The transmission featured recording artists Linkin Park along with 10 additional artists on the Projekt Revolution tour and was watched by over 1 million MySpace members. A ground breaking first, the program incorporated mobile phones used by fans to capture content from a 1st person perspective which were mixed live into the HD broadcast. Ogilvy branded entertainment group and Diversion Media strategic advisory engagements focused on the development of web/mobile based video broadband networks. These engagements included the hiring and management of specialized teams in development, content creations, content syndication, platform analysis and overall site development. Engagement also included creative design, strategic direction, content development, budgeting and identifying technology partnerships. During the last four years he has produced a monthly salon series for the Producers Guild of America sponsored by the New Media Council east of which he is founding chair. The series is captured and distributed online and released as an annual DVD for PGA membership nationwide. This conversation series has featured such prominent speakers as Al Franken (US Senator candidate/Humorist), Kevin Ryan (CEO DoubleClick), Alan Patricof (co-founder Apax Partners), Herb Granath (Chairman Emeritus, ESPN), Jeffrey Dachis (founder Razorfish & current chair PGA NMC), Michael S. Simon, (Chief Strategic Officer, Harry Fox Agency), Eric Wachtmeister (Chairman and Founder, A Small World), Bob Berenson (Vice Chairman and General Manager of Grey Global Group), Chris Wedge (Academy Award winning producer Ice Age) and Peter Becker (President, Criterion Collection) among a few top through leaders in the industry.
Vic Odryna, Co-Founder and CEO, ZeeVee: Vic Odryna is co-founder and CEO of ZeeVee, a company that is bridging the last fifty feet between the computer and the HDTVs in the home. Vic most recently served as executive director of strategic planning for Idearc Media, home of Superpages.com and marketing services for small businesses. Prior to Idearc (a Verizon spinoff), he served as president and CEO of Inceptor, a leading provider of search marketing technology and services. Inceptor helped clients such as the Home Shopping Network, CVS, Best Buy and Lawyers.com achieve success online. While at Inceptor, Vic also served on an advisory council to Google in search marketing. Inceptor was acquired by Verizon in 2006. Previously, Vic was a senior vice president of global marketing for Avocent, the world leader in datacenter management products. While there, he led the creation of the Avocent brand, the result of a merger of two public companies. Vic joined Avocent with the acquisition of PixelVision in 1999. He founded PixelVision in 1991, a pioneer in flat panel monitor technology whose products can still be seen populating the NYSE trading floor. PixelVision quickly grew to be ranked #25 on Inc. magazines prestigious list of the 500 fastest growing private companies. Vic earned bachelors degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, as well as a masters degree in computer science from the University of Connecticut.
Rony Zarom, founder and CEO, Watchitoo: the first online social collaboration platform that allows users to share the same synchronized content (videos, photos, presentations, etc.) while instant messaging and video chatting in real time. Watchitoo is a part of Decima Ventures; a venture capital company that invests in U.S. based technology companies with a research and development center in Israel. Prior to starting Watchitoo, Rony Zarom founded and owned Exalink, a company in the field of mobile internet. Exalink developed state of the art mobile Internet routers for use by wireless operators. After a successful launch of the product in the year 2001, the company was acquired by Comverse Inc. for the amount $550 million. Rony Zarom holds a bachelor and masters degree from the City University of New York.
Mariana Danilovic, Managing Director, Hollywood Portfolio, LLC: a developer, owner and operator of digital media companies. The Company focuses on cross-platform incubation and acceleration, assistance in securing funding from institutional investors, corporate and business development, content aggregation, branded entertainment, and revenue generating activities for digital media ventures. Through Hollywood Portfolio, Ms. Danilovic launched and helped develop several digital media companies and serves on the Advisory Board of ReframeIt, Pixsy, and CozmoMedia. Ms. Danilovic was the EVP Business Development for a digital signage company, NTN Buzztime, Inc. (AMEX:NTN) and VP Business Development, Content Aggregation and Programming for MediaZone, broadband video company owned by NASPERS media conglomerate. She also founded and directed the Digital Media Incubator at KPMG LLP, which developed about two dozen digital media companies. The companies Ms. Danilovic helped develop received institutional funding from KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Hummer-Winblad, Constellation Partners, Softbank, North Star Ventures, HP, and Intel. At KPMG, Ms. Danilovic managed the digital media M&A transactions and facilitated the sale of the Well to the Salon prior to its initial public offering. Prior to joining KPMG, Ms. Danilovic headed business development for Peter Gubers Mandalay Entertainment. She also was part of the management team for the $60 million fund at Sony Pictures Entertainment that made investments in media companies worldwide. Ms. Danilovic also worked with Michael Milkens Knowledge Exchange and at the Twentieth Century Fox International Television Group. Prior to attending business school, she worked in Product Management as well as Mergers and Acquisitions for Transamerica and SunAmerica. She previously served on the Board of Directors of Tim Drapers Zone Club, the California Culture Net, VIC Network, and was a member of former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan's Digital Coast Roundtable. Mariana earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from University of California, San Diego.
Lauren Cole, President, Cole Media: a company that helps clients set up and launch media-related businesses. Clients include companies launching cable and satellite channels, mobile content services, video-on-demand, and broadband content, both in the U.S. and internationally. Companies that Cole Media has worked with include TV Guide, Network Live (AOL/XM Radio/AEG), TV One (Radio One/Comcast), Technicolor, Sony Pictures Entertainment, E! Entertainment, GSN, Granada America, World Championship Sports Network, National Lampoon, Wine Network, HBO Latin America, and Anthony Robbins Companies. Ms. Cole was previously Chief Operating Officer of PacketVideo Corporation, the first company with technology and applications to stream video over wireless devices, where she oversaw all of the business activities of the company. Under her supervision, PacketVideo established contractual relationships with over 200 global media and internet companies, including all of the major studios, and numerous major broadcasters, cable companies, and streaming media companies around the world. Prior to joining PacketVideo, Cole spent 8 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment in the International Television area where she was responsible for launching, making investments in, and supervising Sonys cable channel investments in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. During her tenure at Sony, the company launched or made investments in 35 channels. She also headed up operations for Columbia TriStar International Television. Cole also worked in Warner Bros. Strategic Planning Dept, and at Bain and Company. She has a degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College and an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Larry Lieberman, Chief Marketing Officer, ANIBOOM Studios: Larry oversees the growth and vitality of Anibooms online community of 8,000 animators in 72 countries. He is responsible for Anibooms programming development, distribution and marketing initiatives including the companys recent programming deals with FOX, History Channel, Marvel and others. Prior to joining Aniboom, Larry was chief marketing officer for Sir Richard Bransons Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation. He has also held senior marketing positions Comedy Central, Warner Music Group and MTV. Lieberman has successful built media brands, animated programming brands, and character licensing businesses in the US and internationally. Lieberman earned a B.A. in Economics from Union College in Schenectady, NY and an M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
