With the emergence of the smart TV, along with the pervasiveness of broadband video as a cultural always-on experience, the understanding and confluence of video, television and broadband, as an interactive platform, an advertising platform and as a content platform is continually be explored and redefined. Television, video and technology is an experiment that will never stay in place. Sean Bunner, Operating Vice President, Advanced Services, HSN Home Shopping Network: In this role he is responsible for the business development, operations and marketing of HSN’s Interactive Media applications including: Shop by Remote (iTV), Video on Demand, Broadband and Mobile services. Bunner actively supports key industry initiatives including the CableLabs eTV Working Group, CTAM onDemand Consortium - Advanced Technology Sub-committee, and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2007 Interactive Television Emmy Blue Ribbon Panel. Before joining HSN, Mr. Bunner worked in investment banking for 5 years at Tunstall Consulting where he was the lead Director for technology company financings and strategic plans, including many telecommunications related deals, such as SMATV operators and cable related technology providers. Prior to this, he worked at Honeywell for 7 years in various Corporate Finance roles. Bunner is a CPA and graduate of the University of South Florida where he received a Masters in Business Administration and B.S. Accounting. He resides in Flordia with his wife Ellen and their three children.

Lisa Hsia, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Bravo: Lisa Hsia is Senior Vice Pr
esident of Digital Media, Bravo. She oversees Bravo’s programming opportunities in new and emerging media, including wireless, interactive TV, electronic sell-through and VOD. Hsia is responsible for all technology alliances, content and marketing partnerships, as well as managing Bravo’s portfolio of linked digital assets and broadband properties. Working at Bravo since 2005, Hsia has supervised the launch of Bravo shows on Itunes and three mobile carriers, six wireless websites, the first live voting on TV ever on three platforms (online, mobile, cable remote), the first advertiser-sponsored one-screen ever for “Top Chef” on Time Warner, an interactive ticker, a mobile storefront and many original mobile marketing and mobisode initiatives. The “Project Runway” wireless web site was recently nominated for a Webby Award in the news and entertainment category. Prior to joining Bravo, Hsia was Vice President at NBC News since 2001, supervising “Dateline NBC,” the “Today Show,” and NBC News Productions. During her tenure at NBC News, Hsia was one of three news executives responsible for coverage of 9/11 and Iraq war coverage, two Olympics, the seamless transition of Tom Brokaw to Brian Williams on “NBC Nightly News,” the introduction of a new “Weekend Today” anchor team and the creation of “Democracy Plaza” for the 2004 Presidential Election. All shows remain #1 in their time slot. She has had a long career as a producer of independent feature films, documentaries for PBS and in news, where she is the recipient of six Emmy Awards. Hsia graduated from Harvard University with a degree in documentary filmmaking. She is the recipient of the Michael Rockefeller Fellowship and the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University.

Edgar Villalpando, SVP Marketing, ActiveVideo Networks: Edgar joined ActiveVideo in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the messaging and marketing of ActiveVideo® as a business- and consumer-facing brand. Edgar’s extensive media and consumer products experience includes executive positions with HBO and DIRECTV, and as general manager of THUMP, an agency that develops and markets branded content through a combination of traditional and interactive platforms. With HBO, Edgar served as vice president, new media and business development for the programmer’s international group, with specific responsibility for expanding linear and new media properties into new territories. Edgar previously had served as vice president, marketing for HBO, driving and managing international marketing and communications efforts for the HBO and Cinemax brands. With DIRECTV from 1999-2004, Edgar first served as director, marketing and advertising with a focus on supporting the satellite provider’s international programming within United States multicultural markets. Later, he served as director, advertising and brand management with responsibility for DirecTV’s domestic brands and associated markets. Edgar began his career in advertising in the agency world, working on blue-chip brands such as Ford, Miller Brewing, Mobil Oil, Wesson Oil, and several other accounts. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA.

Jaspal Bhasin, Chief Operating Officer, itaas, Inc.: Jaspal Bhasin is a founding partner and Chief Operating Officer of itaas, Inc., where he focuses on financial and operation matters, along with leading technical initiatives for the company. Instrumental in iTV since its inception when he contributed in early trials, Bhasin brings more than 18 years of technology experience to the company, in the areas of iTV, client server systems, data warehousing and artificial intelligence. Prior to joining itaas, Bhasin held a number of high-level positions at such companies as Naviant, Sybase and Computer Associates, where he was responsible for design and deployment of large Marketing Data Warehouse solutions and other data products. Bhasin earned a Bachelor of Electronics and Communications degree from REC in India and a Master of Computer Science and Management Science from the University of Tennessee. Publications include "Selecting AI Tools Using A Hierarchical Decision Process" M.L.Emrich and Jaspal Bhasin: Paper presented at the 51st. Annual Meeting of The American Society of Information Science, October 1988 and "Modeling the Decision Process Using Multi Criteria Decision Theories" Jaspal Bhasin and M.L.Emrich: Spring meeting of the American Statistical Association, March 1989.

Eric Gould Bear, Inventor of Telescopic Video & CEO, MONKEYmedia, Inc.: Communication Arts described Eric Gould Bear as "one of the most thoughtful and provocative interface and interaction designers working in the field.” He has been a leading force in the design of award winning human-computer interfaces since 1984, has published numerous articles on the subject, and is first-named inventor on nearly 100 software and hardware interaction patents and patent applications, including claims essential to telescopic advertising. Bear is an enthusiastic and inspirational leader, and has established user experience strategies for many well-known corporations. He is recognized for his collaborative approaches to creating easy-to-use technology and engaging digital media. MONKEYmedia invented telescopic video in the early 1990’s. Its portfolio of patents includes claims directed towards telescopic advertising and other enhanced viewing experiences, and essential to the practice of various industry-governed standards such as DVD-Video, Blu-ray and tru2way (e.g. Enhanced TV / EBIF and SCTE-130). Licenses are available to all parties interested in practicing MONKEYmedia's patented technology and methods in connection with DVD players, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, DVRs, smart TVs, PC video players, mobile devices, discs implementing telescopic video features, and telescopic advertising.

Darcy Lorincz, CEO, Origin Digital Inc.: Together with the co-founders he is responsible for building the business plan and raising the capital to privatize this company derived from assets acquired from public company SAVVIS Communications. Previously Mr. Lorincz was the Vice President and General Manager of Global Rich Media Services at SAVVIS Communications where he built the Media and Entertainment Division from it’s inception to the business today at over $80M annual revenue contributing to 10% of SAVVIS current annual revenue. He has over 20 years building, implementing, and managing technology strategies, products, and solutions for the IT, telecommunications, and networking industries. In his current role, Lorincz will be directing this new venture and building Origin Digital into a premier provider of Digital Media products and Services. Prior to joining SAVVIS, as VP Americas, Mr. Lorincz helped set the global strategy for the Networking and Communications segment of the BBC Technology product and marketing focus, primarily focused on New Media in IP and Mobile program distribution. Prior to joining the BBC, Lorincz was the Managing Director for M&E at Global Crossing. There he directed the strategy for entry and growth of Global Crossing in the Media & Entertainment markets. He then directed the execution of the technology strategy and operating plan for a global applications-enabled media extranet for on-demand and consumption based network services.

Jeffrey Binder, General Partner, Genovation Capital: Jeffrey Binder was most recently a senior executive with Motorola, serving as Senior Director Strategy and M&A and GM of its On Demand Solutions group. In addition to day-to-day operations of the 150+ person on-demand solutions group with offices in the US, Europe and Asia, Mr. Binder spearheaded several key initiatives within the office of the CEO, as well as driving the companies worldwide on-demand video business and M&A strategy. Mr. Binder has been named as, one of eight Next Generation Leaders by MultiChannel News, Top 100 Heavy Hitters by CableFax Magazine and one of 40 under 40 by the Boston Business Journal. Prior to Motorola, Mr. Binder founded Broadbus Technologies, which was sold to Motorola in 2006 for nearly $200 Million. Broadbus pioneered the concept of television on-demand using advance memory technology and became the leading supplier of video streams in 2006. It was at Broadbus where Messrs. Binder and Bisceglia as President and CEO respectively, went on to engineer on of New England's top ten exits since the tech bubble of '99. At Broadbus Binder set the bar for start-ups, creating an advisory board of the top technologists and media players in North America, including the CTO's of Charter, Cablevision, Rogers, Cox, Liberty Media and Time Warner. The advisory board also included David Fellows, CTO of Comcast the COO of Nickelodeon (Board Member), the President of Paramount Television and the President of Warner Domestic Television. Mr. Binder was Chairman and CEO of the Leading Golf Companies from 1996-2000, then the largest marketing and technology network of high-end golf courses in North America including Mauna Lani, Pebble Beach and Pinehurst. LGC was an outgrowth of incubator Nanosoft, which was an offshore development start-up founded by Mr. Binder 1995 to incubate young technology companies in China. Prior to Leading Golf, Mr. Binder led Magic Music's rapid growth as the largest provider of digital duplicating technology to record industry from 1991-1994 to companies including Capitol Records, MCA Records, Philips NV and Polygram. Mr. Binder has been an investing and trading professional since he became a Member of the Chicago Board of Trade in 1987. Mr. Binder has attended Harvard University as an undergrad with a concentration in Environmental Management.
