Daniel Rappaport, Founding Partner, Management 360: Daniel Rappaport is a founding partner of Management 360. With more than a dozen years of experience as a manager, he focuses a great deal of his expertise in the handling of directors, including McG (Charlies Angels), Jim Mangold (Walk the Line), Phil Morrison (Junebug), Tom Dey (Failure to Launch), F. Gary Gray (Italian Job, The Negotiator), Will Speck & Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory) as well as Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (Half Nelson). Rappaport served as executive producer of Phil Morrisons award-winning film, Junebug. He also produced Office Space, Mike Judges feature film debut for Twentieth Century Fox.
Richard Hull, President, Blowtorch, Richard Hull is a proven leader of private equity backed media and entertainment companies; a successful operator, financier and dealmaker with particular expertise in turnaround situations; and a seasoned steward of investor capital. He occupies a rare position at the heart of traditional media and entertainment, digital distribution and finance. Hull is currently President of Blowtorch Media & Entertainment, which is backed by Ignition Partners, a venture capital firm comprised of early Microsoft employees with almost $2 billion under management. In early 2007, Hull was recruited to round-out a trio charged with turning around the company, which had raised $50m for the distribution of content to young-adult audiences, including feature films, advertiser-financed digital content and online media applications. As an early pioneer in Hollywoods charge towards online and mobile content, Hull previously advised major media companies such as Warner Bros., the Walt Disney Company and MTV Networks, as well as major private equity and venture capital groups, on digital entertainment strategy, distribution and finance. A former film and television producer/financier constantly on the leading edge of market trends, Hull quickly proved himself as one the most prolific in the business with collaborations that include virtually every major media company. His projects, primarily geared toward teen and young-adult audiences, collectively grossed well over $300 million worldwide and include one of the most successful teen movies in history.
Scott Ehrlich, CEO Agility Studios: Scott Ehrlich has more than a decade of top-tier television and Internet management experience, serving in the senior management teams at Real Networks, Rivals.com and News Digital Media (Newscorp/Fox). In these positions, Scott has managed staffs of more than 200 employees, and annual budgets in excess of $40 million. He has negotiated landmark deals with major media entities in news (CNN, ABC News, The Weather Channel, CNET, WSJ.com), sports (NBA, NFL, NASCAR, MLB, PGA Tour, FOX Sports) and entertainment (E! Entertainment, CBS (Big Brother and Survivor), iFilm, Starz On Demand, Playboy) for the carriage, distribution and packaging rights to their content over IP, at various times managing relationships with four of the largest media companies in the world (Viacom, Disney, AOL Time Warner and News Corporation.)
Suneel Gupta, Co-Founder, Kahani Pictures: Suneel Gupta, Co-Founder, Kahani Pictures: Suneel created Kahani Pictures, a digital film studio which he co-founded with his brother, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN. The studio recently launched the "Kahani Movement" -- a social network that captures untold stories from first-generation Indian Americans and gives them a platform to be heard. Suneel is also Director of Product Development at Mozilla Labs, the innovation group of the Mozilla Corporation. In this role, he recently led the development and launch of "Personas," which enables Firefox users to personalize their browser experience. Suneel developed a strong interest in media and technology while serving in President Clintons White House Press Office and pursued this interest through strategy and venture-focused roles with Sony Pictures, Accenture, and Tata, and in various global markets, including Ghana and India. In 2004, he was recruited to co-author the Democratic partys national platform, a collaborative mission statement for U.S. policy. Suneel serves on the board of Neurologic, a medical innovation company that he founded, as well as the boards of Community Lab and Journalists for Human Rights. He holds a JD from the Northwestern University School of Law and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Lori H. Schwartz, Senior Vice President, Director of Emerging Media, Interpublic Emerging Media Lab: As Senior Vice President and Director of the Interpublic Emerging Media Lab, a center for marketing innovation located in Los Angeles, Lori provides consultation and solution recommendations for the latest in broadband, wireless and emerging media for Interpublics global client roster. She also facilitates emerging media upfronts and exclusive partnerships with companies like Joost and TiVo for the companys agencies and its clients. She has worked with a number of clients across a variety of categories, including Avery Dennison, Intel, Microsoft, Nestle and Sony. Prior to serving as Director of the Lab, Lori served as an interactive/new media producer at McCann Worldgroup, providing interactive expertise for the agencys Los Angeles client base. She worked with clients to create original content solutions across multiple channels. Lori also facilitated partnerships with entertainment, sports and other content providers, and served as the agency representative on all issues pertaining to emerging media. An active member of the marketing and entertainment industries, Lori serves on the Board of Governors for the Producers Guild of Americas New Media Council, is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), is on the executive committee of the Interactive Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has led projects for the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab. Lori participates in a number of advanced advertising standardizations groups and is a frequent industry speaker. When she is not working with clients, Lori can occasionally be found on stage in Hollywood performing with a number of improvisational comedy theaters.
Joseph A. Cantwell is founder and managing director of Authentic Digital, the new division of Authentic Entertainment, Inc. that produces and distributes original entertainment content for brands and digital platforms around the world. The new business is based in Washington, D.C. with satellite operations in Authentic Entertainments Burbank, Calif. headquarters. Prior to joining Authentic, Cantwell was vice president, marketing, for the advanced services unit of Starz Entertainment, LLC in Englewood, Colo. where he created the Vongo and Starz Play movie downloading service brands and products and managed all marketing for the pay TV companys internet division. During Cantwells tenure, Vongo was nominated for three Emmys, won a North America Gold Award for Interactive Media Consumer Website from the Broadcast Design Association (BDA) and a Gold W3 Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts. In 2007, Cantwell was named a Brand Builder by Promax/BDA. Before that, Cantwell was with America Online (AOL) in Dulles, Va. where he served in several senior roles in the companys interactive television and broadband divisions. While at AOL Cantwell managed the companys first prime-time interactive broadcast television services, helped launch and manage the successful cable VOD service AOL Music On Demand and was a founding member of the senior management team for AOL Broadband. Prior to that, Cantwell spent a decade at Bravo Networks, New York, where he last was executive vice president, new media. As one of the founders of the Independent Film Channel (IFC), he was a pioneer in the use of broadband for delivery of film and film-related content, producing the first-ever release of a feature-length film exclusively via the high-speed platform. Cantwell is an advisory board member of MediaEnable, LLC, a Santa Monica, Ca. based interactive TV firm. He holds a Bachelors degree from Barry University in Miami, Fla. and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
