Steve Stanford, Digital Entrepreneur, former head, digital media group, ICM: Steve Stanford is widely recognized as a digital media pioneer, having been at the forefront of the digital content space since its inception. As President of Content and Entertainment, Stanford is responsible for creating and connecting content with brands and new distribution platforms. Stanford is a serial entrepreneur in the fields of digital media, telecommunications, and entertainment. Stanford was the co-founder and COO of Amp'd Mobile, and VP of marketing at Boost Mobile. Prior to joining Boost he was responsible for wireless strategy at Best Buy. Stanford's extensive entertainment and digital media background includes creating ICM's Digital Media Group, and co-founding partner and CEO of Icebox, the first site to create original programming for the web using a-list Hollywood talent, and to migrate a show from the web to traditional media. Most recently, Stanford served as General Manager of the AOL/HBO broadband comedy joint venture This Just In. Stanford was named one of the top 100 Internet entrepreneurs by Time Magazine, and one of the Digital Dozen by Time Digital. He was also listed as one of “10 to Watch” by Red Herring Magazine and as one of the “35 Top Executives under 35” by the Hollywood Reporter.

Stephan Shelanski, Executive Vice President, Programming, Starz Entertainment, LLC. In this role, Shelanski licenses programming for all of Starz Entertainment’s platforms: 16 linear channels, On Demand services and Starz Play, as well as acquiring content for Anchor Bay Entertainment. In addition, Shelanski is responsible for the original programming content for all of the Starz networks, as well as oversees materials operations for Starz, and supervises the creative services area for interstitial programming. Recent originals include the company’s first drama series “Crash,” the comedy series “Head Case” and “Party Down” and the stand-up comedy series “Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up.” In addition, Shelanski has overseen documentaries including New Orleans Music in Exile, Bullets Over Hollywood, Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film, Comic Books Unbound, Bloodsucking Cinema, Fantastic Flesh, and Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride, a feature film documentary on gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Prior to joining Starz Entertainment in 1994, Shelanski was with Home Box Office (HBO) working as the director of Cinemax scheduling. Shelanski is a graduate of Harvard with a BA in Mathematics and holds a Masters in Cinema Studies from New York University. Raised in Philadelphia, Shelanski resides in Denver and is married with three young children.

Michael Kernan, Chief Executive Officer, NuMedia Studios (former executive ICM) Based in the Los Angeles office of ICM, Michael leads and coordinates the company's digital and new media assets, including working with ICM's London and New York offices. With its recent acquisition of The Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, ICM is the premier agency for creators of television and new media programming. Michael joined ICM in 2000, and has packaged numerous new media projects. He has been a leader in Internet deal making, in addition to developing content for the new media platform. Michael is a strategic advisor for technology and new media company clients on growth and financing. Prior to ICM, Michael practiced entertainment law at Lavely & Singer and Behr Abramson & Kaller, and consulted on patents and patent related issues at Gauntlet and Associates. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Illinois, and attended The University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he served as the Executive Associate Editor of "The Hastings Entertainment Law Review."

Larry Tanz, Co-Founder and President/COO of Agility Studios, a private equity backed mini-studio that finances and distributes projects with multiplatform franchise potential. Upcoming projects include “The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers”, a dance related franchise created by director Jon M Chu, and “Ultradome”, a scripted format starring Milo Ventimiglia (of the hit show “Heroes”.) A digital entertainment veteran with more than 15 years of strategy and operating experience in media, entertainment and technology, Larry has produced and developed successful film, television, and new media projects including documentary feature films “Running the Sahara” with Matt Damon and “First Descent” for Universal Pictures, and the Emmy-nominated TV series “Project Greenlight” for HBO and Bravo. Before joining Agility, Larry served for 6 years as CEO and President of LivePlanet, a multiplatform production company founded by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. At LivePlanet Larry was instrumental in creating profitability for the company while also negotiating high-profile deals with top studios including Universal, Miramax, ABC, NBC, MTV, E! and Spike. He closed millions of dollars worth of sponsorships with brands such as Pepsi, Coca Cola, HP, Toyota, Blockbuster, Microsoft, and Hanes. Also at LivePlanet, Larry led the development and design of Sprint’s first 3G mobile game, “Push, Nevada”, as well as Sprint’s first multiplayer location-based game, “PhoneTag” and he Executive Produced the first original HD content for Xbox360, a show called “Race to E3.” Prior to his tenure at LivePlanet, Larry served as Director of Strategy and Operations at AOL Time Warner, where he managed acquisitions and strategy around subsidiary brands (including Moviefone, ICQ, Spinner/WinAmp, MapQuest, DigitalCities and AIM). Before AOL Time Warner he spent a number of years at Mercer Management Consulting where he was a Senior Associate working on corporate strategy, marketing and operations for Fortune 100 clients, all over the world. Larry holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Entrepreneurial Management, a Masters Degree in Behavioral Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and a B.A. with Magna cum Laude honors from Harvard College.

Lance Ware, Senior Vice President of Technology, Technicolor: Lance Ware serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Technicolor’s Electronic Distribution Services group and has over a decade of digital media space experience. As CTO, Mr. Ware is responsible for Technicolor’s digital supply chain platform that supports content ingest, hosting, security, delivery, and fulfillment. Prior to Technicolor, Mr. Ware was the co-founder and CEO of SyncCast, a leading digital media fulfillment company specializing in encoding & transcoding, digital rights management, delivery & distribution as well as content management services. The technologies and services developed under Mr. Ware’s tutelage power solutions for such distinguished companies as Microsoft, Billboard, Warner Music Group, The Motion Picture Association of America, Lionsgate Entertainment, NBC Universal, EMI Music Group, DirecTV and many others. One crowning achievement of Mr. Ware’s career is the role that he and SyncCast played in launching Microsoft’s Xbox Video Market Place. Mr. Ware brought the end-to-end electronic fulfillment assets of SyncCast to bear that enabled Microsoft Xbox to successfully capture the second highest market share in the video download space - within a matter of months. The success of this accomplishment caught the attention of Technicolor which fully acquired SyncCast in July of 2007 and appointed Mr. Ware as CTO. Mr. Ware hails from California and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Paul Colichman, co-founder and CEO, Here Media, Inc.: Mr. Colichman is considered as one of the premier creative executives and producers of reasonably budgeted motion pictures for theatrical and television release. He has over 20 years of experience in the entertainment business and has been involved in the production and/or distribution of over 200 motion pictures. These films include the critically acclaimed One False Move, My New Gun, Music of Chance, Gas Food Lodging, Tom and Viv, The Twilight of the Golds and Gods and Monsters. He has also created and/or produced numerous hours of television, including talk shows, live events and series.










Mark J. Kapczynski, Chief Operating Officer, Kontrol Media: Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
