The Mobile Platform: Establishing the Personalized Video, Music, and Communications Experience
The next generation mobile device has set a new threshold of design, elegance and features that all future mobile devices will be compared to. The Mobile Platform 2.0 is now the Smartphone Platform, and it will no longer be acceptable to the consumer as anything less perfect. It must be a perfect lifestyle device, a phone, a texting and email machine with full information and entertainment accessibility. The next generation of mobile devices have forever raised the bar for what all future mobile platforms must aspire to. In this session, we will address the Smartphone platform – the features, the network capabilities and consumer expectations.

Laurent Sanchez, Director, Alliances, ACCESS: Laurent Sanchez is an accomplished, well-rounded and passionate entrepreneur with 10+ years experience in product marketing, business development, consulting and engineering. At ACCESS, Sanchez is charged with developing alliances with partners in the content and service space with the objective to expand the company's mutual ecosystems and businesses. Prior to ACCESS, Sanchez was the Product Marketing Manager for PalmSource and in product management for Palm. Sanchez is fluent in English, French and Spanish as well as having a basic knowledge of Japanese. He is a food and cooking enthusiast who's homemade Zinfandel has been awarded Gold and Bronze medals at 2 wine competitions.










Chris White, Senior Director of Music & Multimedia, Motorola: As Senior Director of Music & Multimedia within Motorola’s Mobile Devices business, Chris White leads a team responsible for driving strategy, consumer demand and sales for a category of wireless handsets, applications and accessories centered around the mobile music and multimedia experience. Working with internal product teams, customers, and partners around the world, Chris defines and delivers on solutions that enable consumers to connect with their favorite music, movies and content on-the-go. Prior to his current role with Motorola, Chris served as Senior Director of North America Marketing, developing innovative promotional programs with leading US wireless operators. Most recently, Chris and his team managed the highly successful launch of the RAZR handset in the North America market with Cingular Wireless. Chris has over 12 years of marketing experience, specializing in consumer products. In previous positions, Chris has overseen marketing, interactive, and promotional activities supporting well-known brands such as Alberto V05 and Kraft and has developed integrated marketing plans for Internet start-ups such as ethnicgrocer.com. Chris holds a Master’s degree in management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

Jamie Wells, Director, Microsoft Mobile Advertising: Over the past decade Jamie Wells has built of wealth strategic marketing and business development expertise, holding key positions across mobile, interactive, experiential and traditional media-based marketing disciplines. As director of trade marketing, Jamie is responsible for defining Microsoft's Mobile Advertising positioning within the mobile advertising industry, which includes developing innovative marketing and advertising programs and initiatives, leading Microsoft's mobile advertising thought leadership efforts and crafting highly effective, cutting edge mobile solutions for advertisers and publishers. Before joining Microsoft, Jamie led the full service mobile advertising and marketing practice at OMD Worldwide, the largest Global Media Agency and a leader in digital marketing innovation, developing custom strategies and agency best practices that leveraged the mobile channel for all of OMD's clients, while stewarding a culture of agency intelligence, innovation and best practices to help its clients remain on the bleeding edge of creative mobile advertising, media and analytics. Additionally, Jamie served in senior marketing and management roles at MangoMOBILE, and Omnicom company, Ringleader Digital, TCS Mobile and 4Kids Entertainment. Wells was the valedictorian of his Executive M.B.A. class at Montclair State University of NJ and earned a B.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire.

Nash Parker, Director, Emerging Technology & Media, Alcatel-Lucent: Nash Parker brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience to his position as Director of the North American Strategy Team for Alcatel-Lucent. In this role, Mr. Parker is the lead strategist and primary liaison within for region’s content, advertising, and gaming industry activity. Previously, Mr. Parker served as Director of Strategic Alliances for Alcatel-Lucent, where he lead the company’s North American Strategic Solutions Group in support of the group’s IPTV and Mobile TV initiatives. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. Parker served as Manager of Business Development for Sony Computer Entertainment America, and as Regional Manager for the General Motors Corporation. Nash Parker holds a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College, and a master in business administration degree from Wayne State University.


Mark Hyland, VP Marketing, QuickPlay Media: Mark Hyland is a successful entrepreneur and media industry expert. As QuickPlay’s Vice President of Marketing, he leverages his experience to drive product, communications and channel/partner marketing programs. Prior to QuickPlay, Mark co-founded Shift Magazine, a popular media and entertainment resource. He also held several positions at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre (CBC), including Director of Business Development and New Media where he initiated the CBC’s media extension online, with CBC.ca quickly becoming Canada’s top news website. As Director of Broadband and Digital Services, Mark led the CBC into the emerging technologies of high-definition television and video on demand.





Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic, Moderator: industry luminary and former, Vice President, Digital Development & Distribution, EMI Music: As Vice President of Digital Development & Distribution for EMI Music, Ted Cohen oversaw worldwide digital business development for this "big five" record company, which includes labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis. Under Cohen’s guidance, EMI has led the industry with its initiatives in new technologies and business models such as digital downloads, online music subscriptions, custom compilations, wireless services, high-definition audio and Internet radio. In addition to seeking out, evaluating and executing business opportunities for the company, Cohen serves as both a strategist and key decision-maker for EMI’s global new media and anti-piracy efforts. He has worked to establish company-wide policies, which have allowed EMI’s artists and labels a substantial advantage in the digital music arena. Cohen served previously as the Executive Vice President of Digital Music Network Inc., where he co-founded and served as Chairman of the Webnoize ’98 & ’99 conferences. He currently chairs MidemNet, an international music/technology conference convened in Cannes each year. Cohen also held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media. Additionally, Cohen lead two highly successful new media consulting operations, DMN Consulting and Consulting Adults, attracting clients such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, Universal Studios New Media, DreamWorks Records, Liquid Audio, Wherehouse Records/Checkout.com and several other entertainment, computer and new media organizations. A 25-year industry veteran, Cohen serves on the NARAS (Grammy) Los Angeles chapter Board of Governors, the Board of Directors for the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, Co-chairs the new media arm of the T.J. Martell Foundation, and lends his time and talents to the Grammy In The Schools Program.
