Geoff Cook, CEO, myYearbook: Geoff Cook is now the CEO of his third multi-million dollar Internet enterprise, all grown from zero traffic and zero revenue to significant market-leading properties. In 1997, at age 19, Geoff founded EssayEdge.com and ResumeEdge.com from a Harvard dorm room. Geoff has been featured in Wired, Rolling Stone, ABC News, CNBC, USA Today, and was named to the Inc. “30 under 30” List. His Wired feature outing himself as a Dorm Room Entrepreneur at Harvard helped lead Harvard to lift its centuries-old ban on dorm room entrepreneurship by the next school year. Upon graduation from Harvard, Geoff grew EssayEdge and ResumeEdge to 500+ editors and $5+ Million in revenue with profits of $1+ Million per year. Each property dominated their respective niches: admissions essay and resume writing help. Through Geoff’s efforts, ResumeEdge became the exclusive resume writing partner of Yahoo! HotJobs and the Wall Street Journal’s career site. Geoff sold his company to The Thomson Corporation where he led the Consumer Market Group for a Thomson Learning division, departing Thomson in 2005. In 2005, Geoff became the CEO of myYearbook, joining forces with myYearbook’s teenage founders -- Catherine Cook, age 15, and David Cook, age 16 -- Geoff’s sister and brother. Geoff was instrumental in raising $8 million in angel financing, venture capital, and venture debt to build the young company into the US teen social networking leader. Geoff has an A.B. in Economics from Harvard. He lives in Pennington, NJ with his wife Kerri and little baby, Madeline.
