To fully appreciate and understand the parameters and momentum behind the move to broadband and video on mobile platforms, it is critical to have a grasp of the technology and the devices which drive the system and define how the consumer will be able to experience mobile video, film and TV. In this session, we bring together a group of knowledgeable executives in the mobile technology, content and advertising space, all members of companies who are playing a formative role in the evolution of the mobile broadband universe. The explosion of content on mobile is simply a reflection of how great the enabling technologies and the networks are and there is no question that with the advancements being made on all fronts, the ability for the consumer to appreciate and experience high quality mobile is not in question.

Lisa Hsia, Senior Vice President, NBC Universal Bravo: Lisa Hsia is Senior Vice President of New Media at Bravo, the cable network owned by NBC Universal. She is responsible for identifying and maximizing programming opportunities in new and emerging media, including wireless, digital, interactive TV, electronic sell through and video on demand. From 2001-2005, Hsia was Vice President at NBC News, supervising Dateline NBC, the TODAY show and NBC News Productions. During her tenure at NBC News, Hsia was one of three news executives responsible for several major successes: 9/11 and Iraq war coverage, two Olympics, the seamless transition of Tom Brokaw to Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News, the introduction of a new Weekend Today anchor team and the creation of “Democracy Plaza” for the 2004 Presidential Election. All shows remain #1 in their time slot. Hsia came to NBC News in 1994 as a senior producer for Dateline NBC, where she oversaw hundreds of hours of programming and was Executive Producer on shows about roots of Islamic rage and the long-term effects of Columbine on a family. She has worked as a producer for Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer at ABC News and is the recipient of six Emmy awards, an IRE Award, a Sigma Delta Chi Award and the National Press Club’s Freedom of the Press Award. Hsia graduated from Harvard University with a degree in documentary filmmaking. She is the recipient of the Michael Rockefeller Fellowship and the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University.

Bill Stone, Chief Executive Officer, Handango: Mr. Stone was appointed chief executive officer of Handango in November 2007. He was recruited to help aggressively drive Handango to the next level by leveraging his extensive wireless experience in the mobile content arena. Having spent his entire 16-year career in the wireless industry, Mr. Stone brings a deep understanding of content and the global wireless ecosystem. Before joining Handango, Mr. Stone was the president of Amp’d Mobile. Responsible for the strategy, planning, and day-to-day operations of the mobile entertainment company, Mr. Stone helped deliver industry- leading mobile content revenue metrics, as well as numerous “firsts” in the mobile entertainment industry, including the launch of pay-as-you-go on 3G network, the development of Original Music and Video Series for mobile, and live event simulcasts to mobile. Prior to Amp’d, Mr. Stone was a vice president at Verizon Wireless, where he was responsible for strategy, planning, mobile content, music, e-commerce, and a variety of marketing functions including CRM, segmentation, pricing, and promotion. Before Verizon, Mr. Stone was the chief marketing officer for Vodafone Australia where he oversaw all marketing activities including branding, pricing, product, promotion and distribution. Mr. Stone also served as chief marketing officer of J-Phone Tokyo (currently Softbank Mobile), where he helped launch the first SMS, web browsing, ringtone, picture messaging and color devices in Japan. As product development director at AirTouch Cellular, Mr. Stone led the efforts in launching the first CDMA technology and pre-pay offering in the United States. Mr. Stone holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science and an MBA in international management and finance, both from Rice University. Bill and his wife, Audrey, have three children, Will, Andrea, and Alexandra.

Ujjal Kohli, CEO, Rhythm NewMedia: Ujjal, CEO of Rhythm NewMedia, is a leading visionary in the mobile advertising industry with an extensive background in the wireless industry. Previously, Ujjal was EVP of Marketing & Sales for AirTouch Cellular, a $3.5 Billion revenue wireless carrier. As CMO, Ujjal led the creation and development of the AirTouch Cellular brand at its inception. Ujjal also led AirTouch Business Units in Northern and Southern California as VP/GM, and oversaw Strategy, M&A and Product Development in his six years at AirTouch Cellular. Ujjal holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi), an MS from the University of Rochester and an MBA from Harvard Business School.












Daren Gill, Vice President and General Manager of vtap, a free, consumer mobile video service from Veveo, Inc. With proprietary technology powering innovative approaches to search and personalization, vtap is providing consumers around the world with on-the-go access to millions of videos. In this role, Daren is responsible for developing the product, marketing and revenue strategies for this rapidly growing consumer service. Prior to this appointment, Daren was Senior Vice President of Business Development and Product Development at ChoiceStream, Inc., and focused on the entertainment industry’s significant and growing market for music, movies, games and TV personalization. Daren's work prior to ChoiceStream includes serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing for MusicMaker.com (NASDAQ: HITS), a pioneer digital music service, where he managed the worldwide marketing efforts and product development. Before MusicMaker, Daren was Senior Vice President and COO for Putumayo World Music, a leading world music record label. Prior to Putumayo, Daren co-founded the Hear Music record label which was acquired by Starbucks and has become the "Sound of Starbucks".



Jeff Arbour, Vice President of Mobile Integration, The Hyperfactory: Jeff is a key driver behind the company's mobile integration efforts in North America in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He has recently helped define domestic and global mobile strategies and executions for top brands such as Toyota, JCPenney, Motorola, DHL, and Wendy's. Jeff has been helping brands navigate the mobile channel since 2004. Prior to joining The Hyperfactory in 2006, Jeff worked at Juice Wireless where he built relationships with many leading brands and advertising agencies. Jeff graduated from the University of Denver with a BFA in Electronic Media and a minor in photography. After graduation he worked at a boutique advertising agency. The Hyperfactory is the most experienced full-service mobile ideas and media company responsible for the most award-winning innovative mobile campaigns seen anywhere in the world. Founded in 2000, The Hyperfactory builds, executes and analyzes long-term mobile strategies for brands and agencies, regardless of the technology.

Eric Eller, Senior Vice President, Milliennial Media: Eric leads the product development and marketing functions for Millennial Media. Over the past eight years, Eric has been an executive leading diverse advertising centric organizations and disciplines for Advertising.com and later AOL. His experience most recently includes senior management roles in product marketing, European operations (and start-up), and was the original technology chief at TeknoSurf which later became Advertising.com. Eric's teams delivered industry leading ad delivery, optimization, behavioral targeting and search management solutions for Advertising.com's advertiser clients. Prior to joining Advertising.com, Eric was a principal consultant with Syscom, Inc., where his clients included Citigroup, First Union and Royal Bank of Canada.





Frank Chindamo, President and Chief Creative Officer, Fun Little Movies: Frank Chindamo is the President and Chief Creative Officer of Fun Little Movies. "FLM" specializes in producing original, live-action comedy films for its mobile channels of entertainment on Sprint-Nextel, Microsoft, Smart Video phones, in the US and many other countries around the world. They’re known as "Fun Funny Phone Films." Fun Little Movies has been the subject of cover stories in Forbes Magazine and the L.A. Times, and stories in Variety, Hollywood Reporter, CBS Radio, Wired Magazine, CBS TV’s Inside Edition, The Chicago Tribune, and several other outlets. Frank Chindamo holds the world's record for most short films made independently. His films have appeared on HBO, Showtime, CBS, PBS, A&E, Playboy, MTV and Comedy Central, etc. They’ve won 20 awards including The American Cine Golden Eagle, The American International Film Festival and a Finalist's Place for Best Short at the Cannes Film Festival. Frank is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California. At USC, Frank teaches short screenplay writing. He also created the Student Script Database, the tool which will allow directors and writers to pool their talent and is intended to bring the best-written scripts at USC to the screen. As Executive Director of the Staged Screenplay Reading Series at the Lee Strasberg Theater, and as the Director of the Professional Screenwriting Workshops at SONY Studios, Chindamo developed fourteen feature films which have been produced for the screen. Frank also taught at the Gotham Writer’s Workshop and City University of New York. Frank was also a Vice President of Development at two production companies in LA and has worked as a script consultant on numerous projects. Frank Chindamo received his Film B.F.A. from N.Y.U. and his Screenwriting M.F.A. from Columbia University.

Mark Hyland, VP of Marketing, QuickPlay Media: Mark joined QuickPlay in May 2005, having built a career launching new products in print, broadcast and interactive media. Mark co-founded Shift Magazine in 1992, and later worked as the Associate Publisher of TV Guide magazine, introducing new web and international print properties. Joining the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1998, he started CBC.ca, which became the largest news website in Canada. Other projects included Video on Demand, interactive TV and the launch of CBC's high-definition TV network. Mark earned his MBA in 2000 from the Rotman School of Business in Toronto.
