Will Flannery, Vice President, Advanced Services, Fox Cable Networks: Will Flannery serves as Vice President, Advanced Services for Fox Cable Networks. He is responsible for the day-to-day distribution activities for advanced television services including high-definition, interactivity and video-on-demand involving Fox Cable Networks services. Flannery also works closely with sister units such as Fox Networks Engineering & Operations, Fox Digital Entertainment, Fox Interactive Media and Fox Mobile Entertainment on new product offerings, copyright protection, inventory sales and technical solutions. Flannery joined Fox Cable Networks (FCN) as Director of Affiliate Management in August 2000 and later served as Director, Business Development for DIRECTV, where he helped establish the satellite distributors broadband video-on-demand efforts, worked with major telephony companies on joint projects and worked with Microsoft and Intel on extending the DIRECTV service to personal computers and mobile devices. Before coming to Fox, Flannery was Manager of Corporate Development for Sony Pictures Entertainment and served as Senior Accountant at Beacon Communications. Flannery graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in applied economics/business management, and later earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ivana Ma, Partner, President of New Media, Generate: Ivana Ma brings a decad e of experience as a strategic consultant and venture capitalist identifying successful start up companies to Generate where she is a key member of the television and new media development team. At Generate, Ma oversees the development and acquisition of new media properties along with Jordan Levin and Pete Aronson. Prior to Generate, Ma ran her own independent consulting company serving the consumer, retail and media sectors. Her clients included Monster.com, VH1s Save the Music Foundation, NASA and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. Previously, Ma spent five years as an investment professional in venture capital and private equity, investing over $100 million in emerging technology companies. At ABS Capital, Ma worked with executive management teams at companies such as Aptegrity (now Globix Corporation- AMEX:GEX), Cyveillance, Simplexity (now InPhonic Inc.), Captivate Networks (now Gannett Co., Inc.- NYSE:GCI.), NSI Software and Workscape. In 2003, MA joined the largest venture capital and private equity firm in New England, Advent International, where she worked closely with Global 500 corporations such as Samsung, Toshiba, McGraw-Hill, MasterCard and NTT DoCoMo. During her tenure, she also managed all investment activity with their partner, Gemini Israel Funds, and represented Advent on the Board of Directors at Captivate Networks, where she oversaw its successful acquisition by Gannett Co., Inc. As an advocate for the Asian-American community, Ivana regularly speaks at academic institutions and small businesses across the country. She has been published in Inkstone Literary Magazine and EW Woman. Ivana holds a BS with a concentration in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Mark Kapczynski, VP & GM In-Stream Solutions, EyeWonder: Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
Michael Kernan, Vice President, ICM: Based in the Los Angeles office of ICM, Michae l leads and coordinates the company's digital and new media assets, including working with ICM's London and New York offices. With its recent acquisition of The Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, ICM is the premier agency for creators of television and new media programming. Michael joined ICM in 2000, and has packaged numerous new media projects. He has been a leader in Internet deal making, in addition to developing content for the new media platform. Michael is a strategic advisor for technology and new media company clients on growth and financing. Prior to ICM, Michael practiced entertainment law at Lavely & Singer and Behr Abramson & Kaller, and consulted on patents and patent related issues at Gauntlet and Associates. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Illinois, and attended The University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he served as the Executive Associate Editor of "The Hastings Entertainment Law Review."
Shannon Sweeny Pruitt, Vice President Integrated Marketing, Sponsorship & Li ve Events FremantleMedia Enterprises, North America: Shannon Sweeny Pruitt is the Vice President Integrated Marketing, Sponsorship & Live Events, North America for FremantleMedia Enterprises based in the companys television production offices in Burbank, California. At FremantleMedia, Shannon is responsible for managing the on and off-air sponsorship and live events initiatives for North America across the whole spectrum of FremantleMedias television shows and brand portfolios including American Idol, Canadian Idol, Americas Got Talent, The Price Is Right, Family Feud, the Goodson Gameshow Portfolio, Project Runway Canada, Rock the Cradle, The Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency, Atomic Wedgie etc.. Shannon oversees the development and commercial brand extensions of FremantleMedia properties as well as the development and maintenance of partner relationships within the sponsorship and live events areas.
Gaurav Dhillon, founder and CEO of Jaman: Prior to founding Jaman, Dhillon se rved as the chief executive officer for Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a Silicon Valley company that he led from a startup idea in 1992 to a leading software enterprise with customers and operations around the globe and more than a billion dollars in cumulative revenue. Dhillon led Informatica through its initial launch, an IPO in 1999, its expansion into Europe and Asia, and through the establishment of alliances with major technology and consulting companies by the time he left in 2004. Prior to Informatica, Dhillon held management and engineering positions at Sterling Software and Unisys Corp. Dhillon was recently recognized by Variety Magazine in its Fest Zest 60 List "Faces to watch for the Cannes Film Festivals 60th Anniversary."
