Best regards David McKean Vice President Strategy Analytics Speakers at Breakfast Martin Olausson: Director, manages research and analysis on the emerging market for digital distribution of media & home entertainment in Strategy Analytics Digital Media Strategies (DMS) service. Mr. Olausson is responsible for delivering actionable advice and insight to leading Media Companies, Content Aggregators, Service Providers, Applications Developers and Device Vendors around the world. He is an authority on online media and communications services and has expertise on online services such as Online Video, Online Music, Online Gaming, IP-based TV, Voice-over-IP, Video-On-Demand and much more. Most recently his work includes industry analysis and forecasts of the global IPTV market, online video distribution, broadband bundling strategies, and online music services. Mr. Olausson has acted as senior adviser on numerous international research projects and is Strategy Analytics resident expert on next generation media and entertainment services. Mr. Olausson joined Strategy Analytics Digital Consumer Practice in 2004, to share his expertise in analysis of opportunities and market trends for the media and communication industry. Previous industry experience includes several years with telecom vendor Ericsson, where he held different positions within the Multi-Service Networks Division, concentrating on strategic planning and market analysis. Mr. Olausson has a M.Sc. in Business from Växjö University in Sweden, and is a certified Project Manager by the International Project Management Association (IPMA).Ben Piper, Director of Broadband Networking Strategies, has over ten years experience in market development, research and consulting in the Information Technology and Telecommunications sectors. His experience spans the globe, and includes substantial background in the Asia Pacific market. Mr. Piper has worked with clients including NTT, Sony, China Unicom, Korea Telecom, NEC, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Mitsubishi, Cox, Huawei, and Nokia, among others. As BNS Director, his focus is on the intersection of consumer broadband and digital TV access (including DSL, cable, satellite networks and wireless) and residential content distribution. In addition, he covers Service Provider strategy, enabling technology, and consumer adoption trends and forecasts. In 2003-2004, Mr. Piper authored two of the earliest syndicated research reports predicting the emergence, growth, and business models of WiFi hotspots in North America and Asia. Prior professional experience includes roles at InCode Advisors, International Planning & Research, Lucent Technologies and Forrester Research. Mr. Piper holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of International Management, a BA from Tulane University, as well as certificates from Université de Paris-Sorbonne and Institut dEtudes Politiques de Paris.
