The great news is that we are all living and working in the most creative and innovative industry in the world, and the bad news is that it never stops. For lack of a better term, the Web 2.0 explosion has put in motion a never-ending set of possibilities for the broadband and mobile platforms. The buzzwords of search, widgets and personalization have placed the idea and implementation of information, advertising and commerce into a fluid state. In this session, we will hear from a group of innovation experts. Let the conversation begin.

Hari Haran, SVP of Worldwide Field Operations, Openwave: Hari Haran, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations, Openwave: Hari Haran is a veteran of the telecommunications industry, bringing over 20 years of experience to Openwave. He has extensive relationships with carriers around the world and carries an excellent track record of growing sales and winning new deals. As senior vice president of worldwide field operations, Hari oversees all of Openwave's customer-facing functions, including sales, professional services and global support. He is also a key member of the executive team, responsible for the successful execution of Openwave's global sales and services strategy. Prior to joining Openwave, Hari served as CEO of LongBoard, a leading fixed-mobile convergence company. Before leading LongBoard, Hari served as vice president and general manager of Lucent Technologies in the EMEA region where he was responsible for scaling the business from $500M to $2.5B. Hari has also worked for Bell Labs, AT&T Network Systems and several start-ups in the Wireless, Software, and Telecom industry. Hari holds a BS degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, an MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Louisiana University. Hari also attended the Executive Management Program at The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Jonathan Cobb, founder, Kiptronic - A technologist and multimedia maven, Cobb has been creating technologies that power online media for over ten years. As General Manager of KWUR 90.3 FM in St. Louis, Cobb developed an early Internet audio streaming system in 1996, realizing the global power and reach of the Web. In 2000, he created the first geographically distributed real-time Internet radio station. He has held senior engineering positions in a number of Silicon Valley startups, most recently as Senior Software Architect for Covalent Technologies. Cobb has also helped get several startups up and running, including Hyperic Software, producers of HQ, a popular IT management software system. Cobb holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis








John Dearborn, CEO, 3Guppies - brings more than 20 years of experience in developing breakthrough products in premium mobile content, digital media and consumer software to the pond. As the big fish at 3Guppies, he is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction for its product and service offerings. Prior to 3Guppies, John was at American Greetings Interactive (AGI), a subsidiary of the world's largest publicly owned creator, manufacturer and distributor of social expression products. He served as senior vice president and general manager for three years and helped AGI enter new markets as its Entrepreneur in Residence He spearheaded the development of new content offerings for instant messaging clients, all major email clients, and mobile devices. During part of that role, John resided in Paris, France, where he guided AGI’s geographic expansion throughout Europe. Previously, John served in a variety of senior executive roles and had a hand in a number of product innovations and industry “firsts.” At his own start-up, he created the first photo editor for the PC, which he later sold to a leading graphics company. He also developed one of the first interactive computer art programs for children in conjunction with the makers of Crayola, as well as greeting card software with both Hallmark and American Greetings, that were the predecessors to the online greetings that exist today.

Mark Yates, President, Video Services Group, Broadway Video: Mark Yates was named President of Broadway Video’s Video Services Group in February 2004. He oversees the activity of the company’s edit, design, duplication, DVD authoring and encoding services. Yates joined Broadway Video in 1994 to develop the duplication business. Before joining Broadway Video, he was Production Manager for IDC, a New York-based duplication firm. His experience also includes serving as operations coordinator for Showtime Networks, and as on-air technical director for Viacom’s cable networks, including MTV, VHI and Nickelodeon. He began his career in operations with MTV.












Joyce A. Schwarz is an author/speaker/consultant and one of the leaders in the emerging entertainment and media arena. She heads JCOM, a new product launch and branding consulting firm located in Marina Del Rey, California. Joyce has created marketing and advertising campaigns for more than 100 consumer and B2B technologies and products ranging from emusic.com to projects for Philips, France Telecom & AT&T. She combines more than 20 years experience in advertising and marketing for international ad agencies such as Foote Cone & Belding with a masters degree in film from USC and extensive production experience in film, television, video and interactive. She wrote "Reinventing Hollywood" for the NAB in 1992 and then co-wrote "Multimedia: Gateway to the Next Millennium" in 1993, "How to Break Into the New Hollywood" in 1995. Her latest book is "Cutting the Cord: Guide to Going Wireless" Que Publishing, June 2002. Schwarz is well known as a business writer and colu! mnist for more than 150 articles in such publications as: Business 2.0, Conferenza, Digitrends.net, 'Christian Science Monitor", 'Sales and Marketing' (SAM), LA Times and more. She was the chair and organizer for the first Paris, France Internet/ITV conference from 1995-1997, Digital Day LA , 1993-1996 and is a popular keynote speaker at such conferences as the Invention Convention and the San Diego Computer Fair. She specializes in developing partnerships and alliances for emerging entertainment and new technologies.

Raine Bergstrom, Vice President of Product Management, AOL Mobile, AOL: Raine Bergstrom is Vice President of Product Management for AOL Mobile. In this role, he evaluates emerging technology, products and services within the wireless industry by working closely with market leaders, analysts and innovators, and is tasked with guiding mobile product strategy, design and release to market across the AOL Mobile division. He also oversees the deployment of AOL's mobile products and network integration with wireless operators and previously managed mobile device and independent software vendor relationships. Prior to joining AOL, Mr. Bergstrom contributed to the success of several technology companies including Corel and Adobe. He also successfully took two startups public, both in the U.S. and in the U.K., oversaw the sale of another company to a large enterprise, and led the installation of emerging technology divisions into two separate billion dollar companies. Mr. Bergstrom's interest in the wireless industry is fueled by what he calls "practical innovation" -- taking emerging technology and transforming it into something useful for the mass market.
