Personalized TV: Exploring the True Power of IPTV
The integration of the TV experience with the full power of the new consumer technologies from broadband to mobile opens to door to not only an unique world of entertainment and information, it brings to the table a next generation idea of full consumer interactivity within the TV experience. Personalized TV will forever change the consumer entertainment landscape it will open the door to a consumer with more and greater control over his or her environment in touch with family members, enjoying HD programming, accessing and saving information and ultimately creating it and sharing it with others. The Personalized TV experience represents a huge step forward, and at this event, we are pleased to take small steps forward in that direction.

Hemang Mehta, Product Management Director, Microsoft TV, Microsoft Corporati on - As Product Management Director with Microsoft Corporations Microsoft TV division, Hemang Mehta is focused on software solutions designed to enable telecommunications and cable companies to deliver audio and video services to consumers using their IP networks. In this role, Mr. Mehta is responsible for driving overall strategy and vision for MSTVs IPTV products and defining product positioning, packaging, pricing, research and product rollout plans. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2003, Mr. Mehta spent 3 years with Nokia as global head of Nokia Broadband Media solutions for fixed-line operators delivering audio and video services over DSL. He has also held positions at Oracle, where he was responsible for all marketing and sales activities for Oracles Interactive Television Division for the EMEA region; and at nCUBE designing file systems and video servers for the companys massively parallel supercomputers. Hemang Mehta holds a bachelor of science degree in electronic engineering and digital communications, as well as a master of science degree in computer engineering. He has been a speaker at the Broadband World Forum Asia 2006 and the CommunicAsia Summit 2006. Martijn Lopes Cardozo, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, TANDBE RG Television, Part of the Ericsson Group: As Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at TANDBERG Television, Martijn Lopes Cardozo oversees the Companys strategic partnerships including ecosystem partners and resellers. He is also responsible for equity transactions and the Companys initial entry into new markets. Mr. Lopes Cardozo is particularly focused on TANDBERG Televisions IPTV segment, which provides telecom operators market leading compression, on-demand, and interactive television solutions. Mr. Lopes Cardozo joined TTV through the acquisition of interactive television provider GoldPocket Interactive. As Executive Vice President of Distribution and Partnerships, he oversaw the distribution of GoldPockets ITV technologies to operators and was responsible for developing and managing key strategic partnerships. During his tenure at GoldPocket, Mr. Lopes Cardozo led the Company's entry into the IPTV, wireless, and cable and satellite segments. Prior to GoldPocket, Mr. Lopes Cardozo was a Senior Product Manager at Akamai Technologies, where he arranged and coordinated reseller agreements including a critical arrangement with WebTrends. He previously worked with Unilever in Germany and OC&C Strategy Consultants in the Netherlands. Mr. Lopes Cardozo holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
Mark Weiss, Solutions Executive IPTV/Triple Play & Content Service, IBM Global Telecommunications Industry: Mark Weiss has more than twenty years experience in the cable and telecommunications industry. Over the years he has held a variety of management and marketing roles within IBM, all focused in the telecommunications and networking areas. In his current role, Weiss is responsible for developing broadband solutions employing IBMs ecosystem of ISV partners. He works with telecommunications and media & entertainment partners in crafting end-to-end solutions that address service providers requirements around the management and delivery of content to support triple and quad play. In the early 90s he spearheaded IBMs efforts for video dial tone, broadband networking and interactive television. He worked across IBM Corporation to define and develop the products and offering that enabled the company to deliver interactive content across cable, telecom and wireless networks. The results of his efforts were significant wins at Bell Atlantic, Hong Kong Tel, and Cox Cable. Prior to re-joining IBM in 2000, Weiss worked in the cable TV and video networking industries where he held executive positions at Scientific-Atlanta, in the subscriber systems division and ADC Telecommunications in the broadband products division.
Roger Gregory, Marketing Director of the Telco and Operator group, NXP Semicond uctors: Roger Gregory is the marketing director of the Telco and Operator group within the Home business unit at NXP Semiconductors. In this role he is responsible for the global marketing and business development for IP STB, satellite pay system STB solutions and wireless audio products. Roger Gregory begin his career at Philips Semiconductors in 1994, as an engineer, becoming a systems architect for Philips' optical drive solutions based in Southampton, U.K. In 2000 he became the international marketing manager DVD Recoding systems. Following a year in corporate strategy Roger moved to the U.S. in 2005 to assume his current position. Roger holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Salford, England
Graham Kinahan, Senior Product Marketing Manager, AMD: Graham Kinahan i s responsible for Digital Media Convergence for the Desktop CPU Division at AMD. He oversees the development of Active TV technology, which is the delivery of video over the Internet to TVs throughout the home. Prior to joining AMD, Graham was Director of Emerging Technologies at DoubleClick, responsible for helping customers make money from their wireless and iTV advertisement inventory with the same targeting and reporting tools used on the Web. Previous to DoubleClick, Graham held important product management and strategic planning positions with HPs Industry Standard Server Group. Before this, Graham served as a Director for Business Development with France Telecom, where he was responsible for managing U.S. wireless investment opportunities. Prior to this, he was a consultant with the Communications, Media and Technology practice at Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. Kinahan holds an Executive M.B.A. from Auburn University, Ph.D. & M.A.L.D. from Tufts University, M.A. from Kings College London, and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Brian Caskey, Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, UTStarcom: As the vice pres ident of worldwide marketing, Brian Caskey oversees all aspects of marketing at UTStarcom, Inc. Caskey has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and IP networking industry and extensive experience in the successfully design of large, IP-based voice and data networks for Fortune 500 companies and telecommunications service providers. Caskey began his career with UTStarcom as vice president of strategic technical marketing in 2003, responsible for lecture and consultation on the design and implementation of large-scale Voice over IP (VoIP) and next-generation networks. A frequent featured lecturer at telecommunications and networking conferences around the world, Caskey's professional career includes an extensive array of telecommunications expertise with more than 12 years in the satellite communications industry at GTE SpaceNet and AscomTimeplex designing Voice, TDM and SS7 networks for some of the largest service providers and enterprises in the world and over 10 years at 3Com/CommWorks in various executive, technical marketing and strategic technical advisory rolls.
Jonathan Hurd, Director, Altman Vilandrie & Company: Jonathan Hurd joined Altm an Vilandrie & Company in 2006. He has more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience in communications, media and related technology sectors. Jonathans primary areas of expertise include business and marketing strategy, new business creation and launch, integrated consumer and business services, and customer and sales channel segmentation and targeting. Jonathans experience in the IPTV realm includes customer targeting, partner evaluation, demand modeling, and business case development. With unique insight into competitive trends and consumer perceptions about content and communications services, Jonathan works with clients to develop differentiated video strategies. Jonathans extensive marketing background enables him to recommend product and marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences as IP-delivered video moves towards broad adoption. Prior to joining Altman Vilandrie & Company, Jonathan was a Vice President with ADVENTIS. Before that, he was a Partner in the Communication, Information and Entertainment practice of Mercer Management Consulting. Jonathan has also served as Vice President of Marketing for a computer peripherals manufacturer, and has held marketing and strategic planning positions at Lotus Development Corporation. In addition, he has served as a software development product manager in industries including financial services, computer peripherals, video game development and management consulting. Jonathan earned a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from M.I.T., and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
